Gulak Takes Over PDP Chairmanship by makzeze: 6:01am On Dec 31, 2015 |
The Political Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan Alhaji Ahmed Ali Gulak has reportedly assumed the Chairmanship of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), with effect from yesterday, his spokesman, Ochuba Emmanuel said in a statement. Gulak has also purportedly cancelled the planned congress being planned by the Uche Secondus led PDP. Emmanuel said in the statement e-mailed to Daily Trust that Gulak assumption of duty was based on the declarative judgment by the High Court in Abuja, on the 16th December 2015, which ordered Prince Secondus to vacate office as the Acting Chairman of PDP, not later than 29th December 2015, and hand over to Gulak or any other person from the North-East zone of Nigeria. “The Court went further to make an Order of perpetual injunction against Prince Uche Secondus, restraining him from continuing to act in the office of the National Chairman of PDP. In disobedience to the court Order, Prince Uche Secondus did not vacate office, nor hand over to the plaintiff, or any other person from the North-east zone of Nigeria,” Emmanuel said. He added that a detailed letter by his counsel to INEC and BoT of PDP also specified that Gulak is now the ‘authentic National Chairman’ of the PDP, pending the election of a national chairman. He said: “Alhaji Gulak has also cancelled the congresses already scheduled by Prince Secondus, declaring it illegal as the National Executive Committee (NEC) did not meet to ratify the dates. He said new dates shall be announced in due course after a NEC meeting.” He urged all PDP members across the country to remain calm and law abiding saying the party shall soon be rebranded. But when our correspondent visited the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, yesterday, there was restriction of movement into the secretariat by security operatives. According to them, all the national officers of the party had gone for the Christmas and New Year break. Few men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were seen around the secretaria,t while the environment was quiet and calm. But PDP national publicity secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh told Daily Trust in a telephone interview the change of guard was not true, saying it was impossible for Gulak to emerge as PDP national chairman without the Appeal Court delivering on the stay of execution filed by the party over the issue. “We don’t have a new political party. What we have is the PDP and the acting national chairman is Prince Uche Secondus. So it is not true, it is not possible and nobody can be rewarded for saying that Gulak is the new PDP national chairman. We have filed a stay of execution at the appeal court. “There is no judgment that Gulak should be made the national chairman of the PDP. We don’t expect a new PDP national chairman without NEC. With the stay of execution filed at the appeal court, you can’t expect a new national chairman of the PDP now until this season is over,” he said. http://dailytrust.com.ng/news/politics/gulak-takes-over-pdp-chairmanship/126802.html#u2OQb4eSoMpokWMe.99 Ahmed Gulak 1 Like

It's criminal for any media platform to give credence to this rascality, why is Gulak so desperate to take over the party even when the matter has been moved to the appeal court? |
Re: Gulak Takes Over PDP Chairmanship by ZKOSOSO(m): 6:40am On Dec 31, 2015 |
The desperation Is borne out of the need to crush PDP down permanently so that no alternative party can defeat the APC. Gulak is obviously working for Tinubu and Atiku and the Northern Oligarchy. Since Buhari is running and extension of Abacha govt no credible opposition must exist to defeat him in 2019! 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Seriously these people just lost a general election and they're still fighting amongst themselves rather than planning on restructuring their party They should better be ready to spend another 16yrs as an opposition. #smh |

HEART TOUCHING STORY!!! This one cuts deep inside, will make you cry..!! -------------------------------------------------- The Love Story of a Unilag Babe and Bus Conductor »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Something interesting happened on my way to Oshodi this morning. At the park this rough mean-looking conductor also known as “agbero” in Yoruba was screaming for passengers, his vernacular oscillating between Yoruba and pidgin English. “Oshod! Oshod!” He shouted angrily as I along with some other passengers scuttled for seats. There was this beautiful young lady who couldn’t throw caution and decorum to the wind but waited patiently until the bus was almost filled. Then she pleaded to sit by the agbero until somebody came down then she would pay for a proper seat. The agbero didn’t even look at her pretty face, he hissed and shouted to the driver to move that why didn’t she rush when others were rushing. The girl started pleading in Yoruba and clean ‘oyinbo’ english; “please, ejó, help me out sir, I know you are a good man, never mind all this shout you have been shouting (people burst into laughter). Let me sit by your side please”. Finally with much squeezing of face the agbero relented and she sat beside him. It was a tight squeeze but she didn’t complain but rather started praising the agbero. He in turn started teasing her, speaking (and sometimes spitting by mistake) into her face but the girl never looked away, she never let the smile leave her face. He asked her where she worked and she replied that she was a student in the University of Lagos (UNILAG) studying accounting. He teased her in Yoruba about her boyfriend and car (maybe asking why her boyfriend didn’t drop her at her destination…she laughed it off and continued to gist with the guy in Yoruba. When she reached her junction the agbero alighted the bus for her to come down. She did and paid her transport fare, then the agbero told her to give him a peck on the cheek for being so ‘gentlemanly’. At this point some of us became indignant, haba! He had been teasing her since, he should let her go. Click Here to Continue Reading................ |
