I stay in d UK for just four or six months a year, the remaining part is often between Enugu or Anambra. So don't you use that White man land tag.....

That Achebe view inasmuch I would like it be just a Single story narrative (quoting Chimamanda" ) is not...

I had asked my parents and other survivors of the war, the tremor in their eyes is enough to almost make me consider Achebe to be be Homer.

My parents are not based in the UK....the oldest man in my village is not based in d UK...Frederick Forsynth does not understand what it means to be Yoruba....but they all point at Awolowo...
Hate is a very human emotion and so is love. My Yoruba friend will cit his hand to save me from a komodo....that I know.

And that's why I have been confessing to my priest and at the same time I knew why holocaust survivors tremble a lot....but German acknowledges..that's a first for Restitution.

Here Lagoons are constantly prepared...

Those tremors and emotional depression the shot or pierce through The faces of your parents and others are all as a resultant effect of one thing and that's the fact that they lost that war with many casualties recorded for them. War is a very bad thing and should be avoided at all cost, no good thing ever comeout of it.

I don't need to convince you otherwise, for decades you lots point it at awolowo as though he was the very reason you lost. In war wicked things that the ear cannot behold do happens, conflicting parties tend to bring out strategies that work for their success. Awolowo was a Nigerian with nigeria at heart. All he did was bring advice that will quickly bring an end to the war and yes it comes with desperate measures. But he's not an igbo hater. (his work and words testifies to that)

My question is, if you were to be in the biafran army and the opportunity to wipe away the entire nigeria as the only means to assert victory, would you do it or not??

As for lagoons even though I don't stand to defend any provoking statements that comes from whoever, yet I must note that it was purely a political motivated scenario and the media help in giving it a centinary interpretation for folks like you.

Why do you think China will constantly demand that Japan should not visits the World war 2 Shrine n as much as Japan has apologized.

why is it so hard for Restitution here?

Yes if I were to be A more calculative and recalcitrant Ojukwu ,I would have done worse...phosphorus bombs would bleach the Nigerians to Mutant Albinos....

But I am sure that long after my corpse rots my generation will be made to tender apologies, will try their hardest to dry up lagoons and delete it from their dictums...

I often hear stories up here in UK of what happened during Awolowos regime and his scorch earth policy...I used to think it was all exaggerations and stuff until I read the book There was a country....that book changed my perspective to the point of Boiling with hate....

I wish I'd never touched the book. I have good Yoruba fends. one is a bosom friend. But each time I see him, I must confess...narratives of the book swell up in me.

Some say Achebe shouldn't have but why sweep thangz under the carpet.....A million children...

Gowon and his 'henchman' Awolowo used starvation as an instrument of war, in the process killed millions. They got away with back then, but today it is a war crime. I won't lose any sleep the day that war criminal called Gowon dies.

May the good God give you knowledge and understanding cos obviously, u ar in dearth of meaningful, logical and analytical orientation as well as godly inclination.

I av been reading d hateful comments in this thread, and I thought, people will always be people, perhaps most of those comments here are just for the fun of it, bt I guess i'm wrong

U said yoruba people starved igbos during the war abi? I guess u need to go back to ur history books and read more, that the Nigerian army wasn't made up of just a tribe, u av all d tribes in there even ur fellow igbos (Biafran soldiers captured during d war were given option to either return home or join the Nigerian Troop, most of them opted for the latter) so why pinpointing just the Yorubas? I know u will say Awo brought the idea, but who was d president dat bought the idea? A Yorubaman as well? Ok wen UN condemned the action of the Nigerian govt for using hunger as a medium for warfare and it was overturned, wat happened to d trucks of food dat was Biafran-bound at Ore and Benin? Please, have u come across the letter written by the Biafran PRO to d united State when he resigned? U probably need to think of ur life and move beyond brewing hate for other tribe for no just reason, if at all d Yorubas and oda tribes are guilty of the accusations u keep heaping on them, will ur actions bring back wat was destroyed over 40yrs ago!?

Based on the demolition at Oshodi u made mention of, it wasn't only igbos dat occupied that market, infact most of the buildings in the market were owned by d Yorubas.....why must u feel every action taken by a non-Igbo is done out of favour for the Igbo nation?

Mr. Man, people like you ain't good for this society, may God grant u d grace to move on from ur state Of pitiable self-pity.

You don't even know exactly where was broken and you were not there. So, its better not to raise issues you know very little about because in truth you were not at the scene of the demolition when it happened. You don't know the majority of traders there and you don't even know what transpired between the traders and the police. So don't go there at all.

In 2011, northerners voted for buhari that's why he got almost 11million votes there, so because they voted their guy, that means Jonathan should break stalls in the north?

Please, let's deal with issues with justice and equity. We are one you think but you cannot understand and acclimatise with your fellow citizens.

Hmmm, I share your pains bro.
My dad also shared the atrocities of the civil war with me; he lost 2 of his best friends in the Ore war. He lost an acquaintance in the Casino Cinema bomb blast perpetrated at Adekunle Yaba by Biafra, he speaks about it now and he does not wanna remember. Most times, his eyes shot in red whenever he mentions the senseless wars. Wars are rife with such atrocities and the best we can do is to just forget such days. Anytime he depicts the gory, his 2 great pals, etc, I just laments.
Maybe, a revenge for the death of his friends would be smart to weak-minded people. But, I've chosen to look beyond such histories.
Do you know the people of Ibadan and Ekiti were enemies for more than 40 yrs? Bitterness won't help us. Only by forgiveness can we spite the likes of those elders who will be interested in perpetrating a senseless war they couldn't stop.
Let's take exceptions of the older generations folly.

Apologies if I am going overboard here, how do you forget or forgive when you keep hearing rhetorics like ....oh he's Igbo, oh no wonder he's fairskinned, oh how come you're a physicist, your mates are trading...
as if its wrong to be any of things or is it cos I am Igbo....why is the rhetorics of the war made to look like we deserve the deaths?

How do you forgive when ur fellow combatant fells to make amends or Neva looks beyond the fact that ur Igbo?

Surprising here in the UK, we did rarely mention tribes but the sooner you hit Muritala Mohammed...it hits u.

You are suddenly isolated and pointed out.

I am going to cool and perhaps hope to be a better Naijan and desperately hope that the other Yoruba sees me as such and not just a trader who likes money or has a flat-head...

And just as I typed flat-head here with my phone, NL algorithms automatically changes it to Igbo...Its Hard coded....lol

Its only when it comes to marrying Igbo women that people preach 'integration', 'unity', 'one Nigeria'.

But when it comes to voting an Igbo President, u hear 'over my dead body', 'Igbos will never rule Nigeria'.

Lol. That shows that they don't hate u, they just can't seem to trust u with money.

Dude, I seriously dont care about her or her looks. She is a standard igbo girl, my wife is more beautiful than her but cannot put a pictre up for obvious reasons. If She married a white man, Ibibio, ijaw or Efik, i will not blink an eye. I just have a problem with Yorubas going to my land to get married.

U lost that privileged a long time ago and the fact u are accorded such is purely down to the ignorance and lack of knowledge amongst my people.
