That should be We Were Soldiers Once and Young by General Harold Moore, a battalion commander and Joe Galloway, a journalist. It tells the story of the tragedies that took place in the Ia Drang valley when a newly established and poorly equipped American helicopter regiment was sent into a valley in the heart of Vietnam to fight against thousands of native Vietnamese soldiers. Years ago, a certain lady borrowed the book and she never returned it. We've lost contact and that was one of the most painful things that ever happened to me. That was the last good book I lent out. This year I saw the movie, but it was nothing like the book. Nothing! |

My Favorite book is Toad for Super by Chukumeka Ike. The main actors are Amadi from East and Beautiful Girl Funke From West. Both love each other like tongue and mouth. they wanted to married each other but due to tribal Saga Amadi father refuse. This lead to Funke to run mad while Amadi did not get himself. The incident happened before independent. I first read it when I was in Secondary School_ Ekiti State Government College. I cried that day ' cos I know both would have made great couple. 2 Likes |

Talk of books...argh!!! The Acquintane Progression by Robert Ludlum, ahhh! This book is super filled with suspense and also too mystical for young minds. For romance landers try your hands on any of Danielle Steel's classics. A night over water by Frederick Foresight is another crime/romance/comic novel to try. I think iv also tried over 40 episode of James Hardley Chase's books. Lest I forget, Vendetta by Maria Corrie is one hell of a book for revenge seekers, I love the suspense and the ingenuity of the the Italian writer. For newly married couples or couples having problems with pregnancy, I think you should combine 'Every woman' with 'Supernatural Child birth' The Bible is one book I have read, I am reading and will continue to read. I rest my touch pad. 1 Like |

Black Boy by Richard Wright: this autobiography of a boy living in the American south when racial segregation was still a thing 3. HARRY POTTER SERIES.. my fav character would ne Lord Voldermout. lol 4. Animal farm by George Orwell Fav quote: ALL MEN ARE EQUAL,BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN THE OTHERS 5. The Narrow Path by Francis Selormey 6. Things fall apart by Chinua Achebe WHEN I WAS YOUNGER 7. Chike and the River by Chinua Achebe 8. Without a Silver spoon (forgot the author) 9. My favourite is "Pretty Little liars" About four pre-teen who witnessed their friend's murder, the thing is they don't remember what happened. Immediately, the families of the children moved away, few years later, the girls all grown up come back to the community as strangers are haunted by their dead best friend. Vampire Academy: A young Royal vampire, Lissa, decides to run away from a special school for vampires with her loyal body guard Rose. Few years long the line, they are back at the academy, trying to fit and escape the school. PS TO ALL THE BOYS I HAVE LOVED: A young teenager's sister was moving to another country for college. The older sister breaks up with long time boyfriend, Once she left, her sister began developing feelings for him. Bridge To terabithia: Jesse is an ambitious boy, whose goal was to be the fastest runner at his school. Surprises happen, a new awkward girl moves in next door and beat him to it. A rivalry was formed, but Jesse soon knew the meaning of true friendship when she went miss. Witches of East End: Two sisters grew up being normal and ordinary. The worst happened at Freya's engagement party when she meets a guy she sees in her dream. She found out he was her Fiancé's younger brother which she passionately kissed. Her paranoia builds up when her Aunt visited. Then secrets started spilling about their existence. |

What have i not read biko? I read all the books in MATE's library. Read Cyprian, Amadi, Soyinka, Chinua. Read comics, read John Bunyan (Pilgrim's Progress)...was terrified for weeks after. I read NACKSON (it wasnt meant for kids). Read James Hardley Chase (crappy), M&B, Harlequinn, a set of christian romance books too, LOTR, Harry Potter,... My favorite genre is Fantasy/Adventure. Currently, my favorite publications are from Wizards of The Coast. The DragonLance Series or Forgotten Realms. They are standalone books, part of series in a connected storyline. None have managed to beat the Ed Greenwood Elminster Series tho. The Forgotten Realms is set in a time of Gods, Wizards, Priests in the different races of the setting. Elminster, an orphan prince became the chosen of Mystra, Goddess of Magic. He is randy, cheeky, honorable, powerful, has been called a meddler because of the acts of the Harpers who are ppl in a group he formed with priests and adventurers of other races and gpds. He doesn't need to sleep, can wield the silver flames (perks of being chosen). His arch nemesis is Lord Manshoon, who incidentally is a wizard of the God, Bane...who hates Mystra anyways. I have also loved Drizzt, a dark elf in the same setting. Contrary to the nature of all drow who are evil, conniving, sadistic and having a sense of superiority, Drizzt life tells the story of a dark elf who wouldn't just be a normal dark elf. He hated the Demon Goddess of their race, Lloth, left Menzoberranzan, his underground birth city and came to become a ranger in the world above. He is THE BEST weapons master the dark elves never had. He and his companions; Bruenor, Gwen, a halfling have several adventures. When I need to get in touch with reality, I'd say Patricia Cormwell's Dr Kay Scarpetta inspires me sorta. She makes me realise u can be anything u wanna. From a relatively broken background and scarred childhood, she combines a law and medical degree, chief medical examiner and consultant at Quantico. She works with Marinho, Lucy (her niece) and whats that het FBI bobo's name sef. There is crazy maniac on the loose they've been trying to capture tho. |
