I've never understood the aversion to Valentines Day. Sure, February 14th has become commercialized and couples who hold the holiday dear in their hearts can also feel it in their wallets.

It seems to revolve around who gets the biggest bouquet of flowers delivered to their office, expensive Valentines gifts and buying whatever jewelry seems fit for the occasion as trumpeted by Harrods or Tiffany & Co.

It is what it is, but in truth, Valentine's Day is no more commercialized than Christmas, Easter or Mother's Day. After all, we live in a commercial world. So expect to see shop signs screaming: "Valentine s Day gift ideas here!" and radio adverts imploring you to "Buy unique Valentines Day gifts NOW!" blah, blah, blah.
