The bottom line is there is no Giant in Africa because there is poverty in every country in Africa.

Any country that totally wipe out poverty in it's population, will be worth being called Giant.Until then we're all corrupt, poor third world countries, nothing more and nothing less.

if we go by the emboldened statement, it means there is no country in the world, worthy of being called Giant, because every country in the world has its share of poor and homeless people including USA and UK

when people talk of giant. i puzzle because, giancy if u will permit me is not measure by western acceptability. fine, obama had A STOP OVER in ghana after the summit does that account for ghana being. what are the indices to measure a giant? it is there we will be able to objectively determine who the giant of africa is.

below index can be used temporarily:

1. GDP
2. POPULATION
3.ECONOMY SIZE
4. EXPORT QUANTITY
5. MILITARY STRENGTH

let stop at that for now and put all the significant and relevant African nations side by side. then we will put ghana where it belong

Tell them o!

Anglo Ashanti is at present a South African company.

It depends how you look at it. Eg SABMiller "is" a South African company but moved to London when it merged with Miller in order to have a global appeal. So that the fact it still bears AngloGold Ashanti still shows Ghanaian connection and also it still listed on NYSE as result of its parent company Ashanti being listed before it merged.
