It actually took me years to come to terms with that incident. The unprofessional attitude displayed by Sani Kaita just made me understand that, apart from the skills and talent, footballers need a lot of education on both on the pitch and off the pitch attitude. I was just in pains through out that season. I couldn't forgive him for that useless and unwarranted attitude.

I even wandered what the then Coach saw in him before given him a chance.

I do not know if you can remember one of the last friendlies we had before the World Cup. Sani Kaita was just running up and down, had no impact, which was enough reason for the Coach to do away with him.

These Foreign Coaches shah.

@ the bolded please do not take it personal with him. He must have learnt his lessons. He needs to revive his careers.

The Horses ran out routine winners on Monday evening to remain to the top of the division, leading FC Rostov, who defeated Ural

Ahmed Musa and the in-form Roman Eremenko were on target as CSKA Moscow remain as leaders of the Russian topflight log with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Krasnodar on Monday.

The Nigerian international fired Leonid Slutsky's side ahead within 17 minutes at the CSKA Moscow Stadium.

And it got better in the second half when Eremenko doubled the lead to effectively end the game as a contest.

However, Ricardo Larbode’s dismissal for a second yellow card in the closing stages of the game ensured the victory went home without getting a consolation goal.

He was replaced with Sergey Tkachev in the 90th minute of the encounter.

With this win, CSKA Moscow, after 29 games sit atop the Russian topflight log with 62 points, and they face 10th placed Rubin Kazan at the Kazan Arena.

That's harsh, don't you think? His red card offence was not as bad as Song's red card against Croatia. There are examples of worse cases of red cards in club and country footbaall.

Except you have evidence of match fixing, it's better you leave him to scrap whatever bit of his career he has left. I am sure he has people who are depending on him for survival in the North.

Sani Kaita's red card was unprovoked. I do not remember what happened in Song's case but Kaita's case defies logic.

Kaita picked the ball to throw in and then all of a sudden, he lashed a kick at the Greek player.

The only logical explanation was, it was fixed. Remember Sodje's arrest and his claim he could fix World Cup games?

If there is any other logical explanation for Sani Kaita's kick, then it was not fixed. I doubt he was a mad man doing training and playing in numerous games for the country.

Bullsh!t. Watch the video again on Youtube. The Greek was clearly shielding him from taking hold of the ball and then when the ball went out of play pushed the ball at him. Like I said before, there have been worse cases of red cards in the history of the game.

Yes, the guy did wrong. Get over it! Millions of Nigerians were mad at him. Some even attacked his family. It's time to move on.

It's immoral to try to punish children because of the sins of the father. Saying Amokachi should not help his career is being insensitive to the plight of those whose survival is hinged on his breakthrough, no matter how meagre.

Let Amokachi help him. That does not change my mind. The actions of the Greek player does not or never warranted the kick. You can say we should forgive him but we can not exonerate him.

There was no reason what so ever to warrant a kick.

Haba!!! Sir! Hate?? Okay wait a minute.... I know you're only trying to be honest but it's kinda surprising that you still haven't let go.

Come on!! This was the same Kaita that was so wonderful at Netherlands 2005 Fifa U-20 World Cup doing "the very dirty job" in midfield for The mercurial Mikel Obi. Remember??

Also, he was the midfield mainstay of Our Dream Team Eagles at Beijing 2008 Olympics Games in which we won Silver losing to Messi and co. Remember??

Look, I was mad too... but we've moved on. Every body just gotta move on.

I remember being in the East (in Nnewi exactly) when Kaita showed up as an FC Ifeanyi Ubah player (didn't last there shaa).

Saying Amokachi shouldn't help Kaita because you hate.... **I "hate" this "hate" word when it's used on people... lemme use "dislike"... (kinder milder).**

..... because you "dislike" him for what he did at South Africa 2010. I know!!!! it cost us but the sun didn't go black nor did the moon fail to come out later that evening.... grin grin

Forgive and Forget Sir TheGoodJoe.... wink

Let Sani be..... please....

I know the difference between hate and dislike. I hate what he did and I am yet to see a reason why he lashed out at the Greek player. I just went on a stroll down the memory lane on YouTube to watch it again. I am yet to see why he was provoked to lash out with a kick.

Nigeria-born Sodje demanded £30,000 for a booking and £50,000 for a player to get a red card during a match.

He even claimed he punched a player in the groin during a match to be deliberately sent off - and pick up a £70,000 bung.

The former Reading and Brentford defender also boasted that he could rig Premier League and World Cup games.

He said some African players could be easily tempted because they do not get paid much to represent their national teams.

As soon as I read this, my mind said Kaita. You can note, he said African, not just Nigerian.

It is at this point that the scientist in me will ask for clear evidence. I wonder if you know how serious an allegation you're alleging; a crime that would not just stop Keita from playing professional football for life but will put him in prison for 5 years.

You can be sued for libel for this, are you aware?

Fixing allegations raised over 2010 World Cup match

Nigeria v Greece was under investigation, claims former Fifa corruption expert

Fifa's former head of security, Chris Eaton, last night claimed the world governing body has investigated the 2010 World Cup match between Nigeria and Greece for suspected match-fixing.

Greece came from behind to defeat their African opponents 2-1 in Bloemfontein – a comeback which was facilitated by the dismissal of Nigeria's Sani Kaita after 33 minutes. Kaita kicked out at Vasilis Torosidis after both players had briefly tangled as they tried to win the ball.

Speaking to Channel 4 News, Eaton said the match has been under active investigation, as was a national federation – and that Fifa's anti-corruption unit has also been contacted by a footballer playing in the Championship expressing concerns over corruption.

But why would he wanna fix that game?? Why will Kaita "deliberately" soil his name??

I'm certain he regrets that moment with every passing minute he breathes.

Let's just let it go.... We got better soccer days to look ahead to..... grin

I agree I should let it go. Delete it from my mind.

However, our young players should keep off any approach to fix games. The money is not worth their soul.

Work hard and fight to achieve the unimaginable. That was why the likes of Kanu, Okocha, Amokachi and Tijani achieved the unimaginable against a Super talented Brazil at Atlanta '96.

I did not say I have an evidence of match fixing but I sad, there is no other logical explanation for Sani Kaita's action against the Greek player.

As soon as Sam Sodje's match fixing report came out, he clearly stated he committed a similar action to get sent off. He also stated, (note) he can rig World Cup games. That means, he could get African players to commit unexplainable offenses to get sent off.

I am not ignorant to accept Sani Kaita ran mad for a few seconds.

Before you ask for evidence, can you give me a reason why Kaita lashed out at the guy? Throwing the ball at him is not enough reason, especially in a game that would decide our World Cup fate.

Asking for evidence is like asking me to provide evidence why I belive our U20 Flying Eagles were fixed to fail at New Zealand. Or why I believe Coach Garba was dirty in the game against Germany.

Why Coach Garba waited for so long to make a second change in that game or refused to make a change to bring in Nacho who had the ability to grab a winner.

It is unfortunate things like these go on but when you look at he signs, you see it.

Kaita had no reason to lash out. Okocha even echoed it. If the player is not retaliating then, the only explanation is fixing.

I will stand by it. Unless someone can give me a better reason for such madness.

Are you trying to shift the burden of proof to me? LOL

You're the one with the allegation, therefore the onus is on you to provide the proof of your allegation.

I said, that was match fixing. There is no other explanation. You said I should provide evidence.

The video is there for all to see. There was no reason for that action. He was not threatened or provoke to do that.

So unless you have a better explanation, you can not ask for evidence.

The NFF And Coach Manu should explain why they carried our boys to Germany to train under a summer weather for a tournament that they would play under Winter conditions in New Zealand. Does that look like a plan to win the tournament?

If that video is your proof, then the hundreds of worse cases we've had in football and continue to have are also match fixing cases.

Either you don't know the meaning of the terms you use or you have no idea of the implications of your allegations.

So if they don't explain, it is match-fixing?

Your logic is legendary!

There are hundreds of worst cases, does no exonerate Kaita.

Let me give you an instance.

Diego Simeone Vs Beckham, second round, Argentina Vs England in France '98.

David Beckham acted crazily when he (note) hid his face and kicked at Diego Simeone. Unfortunately for Beckham, his action was spotted and he got sent off.

Reason for Beckham's crazy actions, Diego Simeone harassed and fouled him repeatedly in the game. David Beckham could not take it anymore.

Diego Costa Vs Gabriel, Arsenal Vs Chelsea.
Gabriel stupidly stamped on Costa's shin and he got sent off.

Reason for Gabriel's stupid action: Costa was rough on Arsenal players and scratched Gabriel.

There are many crazy incidences but the question is, why make such stupid action? Most times, the players are provoked.

In Kaita's case, there was no evidence of provocation or threat or abuse.

We should just accept it as a moment of madness. Sorry, I can not think that way. There is always a reason.

There are only two ways it can go. Either you plan to win or you plan to fail. That trip to Germany, was not a plan to win. The reason is because there was a statement released that they were going to Germany to train in similar conditions of the tournament we were preparing for.

If they did not plan to win, they were rigging the team to lose.
