Former Niger Delta militants in Imo state have urged the federal and the state governments to honour the amnesty agreement reached in 2011 or face the bombardment of oil company facilities. The former militants who are part of the third batch of the ex-militants in Imo state have accused the federal government and the Okorocha-led administration of refusal to document and train them on the amnesty programme as they did to other former militants, The Sun reports. The oil wealth gotten from this region have been used to finance our annual budget but little Federal government presence. The president is quick to crush but no plan to develop. Remember when you send down more soldiers, most of them will die and crude production will grind to halt. These pipelines can easily be blown, but I don't support sabotage. Niger delta does not need soldiers but development. Please Mr President Boko Haram is still much in Nigeria but under a new disguise Fulani herdsmen. sanandreas: Economic and political systems worldwide are fraught with injustices. It's hard to find any such arrangement that favors everybody equally. Best we can do is seek redress in a civilized manner. Whether or not the government would have behaved otherwise had the resources been deposited up North is debatable. There's no telling for sure unless it happened. All minerals mined are accounted for. But as they contribute a negligible amount to the national coffers, you won't get to see much of it in the media.
