The Easiest Way To Stop Fulani Herdsmen Has Begun In Anambra

The Anambra state Agriculture Team headed by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing and Exports, Mr Afam Mbanefo has praised the owners of Eagle Farms and Cattle Ranch for their entrepreneurial spirit saying that their efforts will help in transforming not only agriculture but the economy of the state. He was speaking during a facility visit to the farm and cattle ranch located at Umuchu in Aguata local government. At the ranch, cattle are raised within a confined perimeter and do not need to wander about in search of pasture.

It would be recalled that irresponsible cattle grazing by Fulani herdsmen has led to clashes between the herdsmen and farmers in some parts of Nigeria. Some confrontations have led to several deaths and destruction of people's farmlands and properties with the herdsmen being fingered as the aggressors. The most recent case being the killings at Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu state.

Mr Mbanefo called on Ndi Anambra to invest in cattle rearing and drive innovation in the agriculture sector saying that it's always better to start small and then grow big as the demand for beef not only in Anambra state but in neighbouring states guarantees good returns on the investment.

He advised entrepreneurs wishing to start cattle ranch business to contact the ministry as advisory services will be provided by Eagle Farms and Cattle Ranch under the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Very good but a more direct approach is to ban the movement of cattle outrightly

And somehow, only Anambra is refusing the so called grazzing bill

I think this is a very succinct way to take the energy out of the words of grazing bill proponents for they will see there is no need for it if private businesses are taking on the tasks of building ranches in their states

1) To provide meat for the populace

2) Proving their proposal is baldadersh

The energy to say the words will fade away from their lips before they have a chance to say them like the early morning mist before the coming morning sun

Nah! These lankies are illiterate, irrational, who believe the earth is theirs for grazing. They believe no one can lay claim to a land as his, so the land is free for them to walk in with their herds and graze anything edible on the land. They are migratory, and nothing can change that.

The truth is, there's only one way to stop these lankies, and I believe we know the way....

... We all know how the male lion deals with hyenas who constantly intrude his territory to mob his pride

this is what people have been saying , we need to delve into this ranching, I know we can do this. Get a better breed, that weigh up to 700, while the highest the fulanis weigh is hust 150... we will get enough meat, milk and dungs!

The easiest way to kill nomadic system of cattle rearing is by doing what these Ranch guys did.
It will provide cheaper, more hygienic meat and fish and put herdsmen out of business.

No it can't get them out of business but they will rather drop thier prices and some butchers will patronise them. They sometime rob to generate cash so they will still be in business and want to a way to fight and hurt others

i've seen this on fp before..

But i dont understand hw this wil stop d activities of d fulani herdsmen..

Instead of d stupid grazing bill,a bill should be passed to ensure that all cattle herders ranch their cattles and should not move from one place to another, just look at those healthy-looking cattles for christ sake.. nt like all dose malnourished cattles of fulani herdsmen dat goes around destroyin farmers crops..
Nice move by d Anambrans.

How many Ranches do you have in Anambra state. Do you know how many cows are killed daily to meet the needs of Anambra people, fulani people will still be bringing in cows, the onus lies in curtailing the destructive nature of the Herdsmen.
