GWMI:The rationale for this kind of amorphous postulation?......... quite hard to fathom! When you do your permutations, and easily assume that the voting population are zombies, who would deliver block votes like a herd, it is safe to assume you haven't learnt much. The strength in numbers, would be decided by the performance of the current govt; zeal/apathy of the voting population to effect change and to a large extent, the integrity of the electoral process. Buhari still has a bit of time to redeem himself and his party. Until, he fritters away this chance at redemption with his embarrassing cluelessness, insensitivity and refusal to be open to learning, let us deemphasize the effectiveness of any presidential pairings for the opposition party. |

bejeiodus: You seem to miss my point. Of what use is kwankwaso to Nigerians if he cannot be trusted? Shifting from party to party should be frowned upon. Nigerians are too into individuals in the parties instead of substance. What values does PDP as a whole stand for? I am not talking about manifestos. I am talking about what they believe is the social route to getting out of the predicament the country finds itself. Their ideology will determine how they think collectively which will determine if their beliefs aligns with mine. We need to start asking questions like these. Political parties in every successful country has an ideology that is public. Political parties in Nigeria have none. |

tuniski: Rules are being changed.. Groundworks experiencing foundational rupturing.. But you expect to see an immediate structure, completed and magnificent. I know one thing.. You are either one of the children constantly trying out your education on NL.. or you are just an antagonist of the govt. You are welcome in both cases. |

Lol, PDP shall be like Mexico's Institution Revolutionary Party, (PRI). PRI ruled Mexico for about 70 years until about 2002 or so, the opposition party defeated PRI. Mexicans experienced excruciating pains under the new ruling party. So the party hardly lasted for four years before Mexicans returned PRI back to power. |

banmee:I understand you perfectly, bro. Our politics is a reflection of our development as a nation. The long years of military rule has robbed us of the opportunity to build strong virile political parties based on well articulated ideologies. All the parties we have had since independence save for the two parties that contested the 1993 presidential elections were offspring of the first republic parties. The NPC first transmuted to the NPN and later to the PDP. While the AG changed to the UPN and later to AD and then AC and ACN. The PDP was founded based on some collective principles, but like everything Nigerian, the party veered off from the lofty goals of its founding fathers. Attempts are being made to rebuild the party on those collective principles. It will be too idealistic to think all this can be done before the 2019 general elections. 1 Like 1 Share |

SamuelAnyawu: Ethno/religious bigotry, Kwankwaso is worse than Buhari. Kwankwaso hardly sees any body outside his religion and tribe as worth anything. |

Re: PDP Rally In Minjibir, Kano (Photos) by mandax: 6:51am On May 01, 2016 |
ellovee: Southerners well-informed about Kwankwaso would rather vote Buhari to remain president, if possible, until Kwankwaso is no longer able to contest. |

tuniski:He still has 3 more years to effect the change. We gave GEJ 6 solid years and he couldn't do it, one year for Baba is nothing. Let Baba fire on. That's your craving. It won't happen. Nigeria is greater than you. We will get there. Not by sheer hypocrisy but striving to be better. Baba deserves every chance. |

SamuelAnyawu:Then you don't know Ibrahim Shekaru, let me educate you a bit. I was Present in Kano When Shekaru was governor he reign was so sweet that he dashed all the local kings Parado jeeps, money was flowing things where wow for everybody no tax no karota no much poverty, fastfoward Rabiu Kawankwaso kano People saw hardship, just name it, Kano indigens dont pay Tax but due to Him they paid, karota made alot of people loss their lives due to poor or no training, harrasment and extortion, kwankwaso almost finished kano Emirate by suspending and almost removing the Sarki of kano, that has never happened before, look if i continue with reasons why they Kanawas will prefer Shekaru Nl will crash, but give it up to Kwankwaso on projects and law instalation and enforcement. Hope u know that he kwankwaso's hold on Kano is fast losing it Grip due to the fracas he had with Ganduje the incubent Governor. You should pay for this lecture its hard typing on keypads lol. |

bejeiodus: I don't think it would be too idealistic as you put it. It is quite simple really. It is all based on people asking questions. Questions like; "do you think government should control everything or not". All those in favor stand on one side and those against stand on the other side. That's how it begins. That's how you know who are socialist thinkers and those who are capitalist. When you make that distinction, then each divide would argue their points on how their approach is the best way for Nigerians. This is just an example though. The more questions we ask the more we know what and how our politicians think. |

banmee:I agree with you that we the people need to ask more questions. But your fixation on having political ideologies is where I would differ. Ideologies don't build roads, provide energy, put food on people's tables, etc. The average voter doesn't care whether a candidate is a Marxist, a socialist or a capitalist. All he cares about is a man who won't neglect his welfare when elected into office. Many have claimed to hold a particular ideology in the past, they came to power only to denounce their beliefs. Does the APC not parade itself as a progressive party? Tell me, I pray you, what is progressive about the party's policies since it came to power? |
