A popular online newspaper just lied today that 70% of Nigerians want the Senate President, Hon. Bukola Saraki to resign, because of his on going trial over allegations of corruption.

How many of the leaders of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) are not corrupt?
If a comprehensive investigation is done, majority of his fellow senators will be on trial with him. So, what is all this political nonsense of the political victimization of Senator Saraki? Because he refused to be the stooge of the political godfathers of the APC?

His trial is a distraction from his resolution in the leadership of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after his election.
The Senate President should not resign.

So because you feel others are also corrupt, Saraki shouldn't resign? A sensible person won't put up such an argument, but would rather ask, are others also standing trial? Some Nigerian youths are just foölish.

They are just so lame. Anyway, they learnt that from Saraki himself. Saraki has been saying he should be discharged and acquitted just because same was done to Tinubu. They want him to stay because others are corrupt. If he doesn't wanna resign because he feels he's being persecuted, then he should resign for appearing on Panama Papers.

Trust me, they are faar worse than these reprobates that currently parade themselves as leaders of the nation.

Listening to the line of argument of an average Nigerian youth is enough to make you puke. They quibble along ethnic, party and religious lines leaving the salient issues (that affect their lives) untouched.

Stop looking for public sympathy and making excuses for Bukola Saraki... Without missing words...Saraki is CORRUPT. He is the no. 3 man in Nigeria, so it's a good thing to start corruption probing with him. Nemesies will also catch up with other corrupt politicians, their time would soon come. Relax, they will also be exposed. So we will not keep quiet over saraki's corruption. Heavens knows....

The argument of the OP is logically defient. If an FRSC official stopped a driver for overspeeding, would you make sense out of the driver's argument that some other people that drove before and after he was caught also oversped? Mind you, the driver didn't object to the fact that he oversped.

Youths need to be logical.

I am sure this respected OP on NL, woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning.

Whether Saraki is being witch hunted or not is immaterial. The bottom line is even the blind could see that all the crimes brought against him are too weighty.

When he was stealing those monies, did he considered that that money could have saved someone's father from dying from road accident. Did he realised that that money could have saved a baby's life if the hospital was in top notch shape; did he considered that the money could have provided employment for someone, who would in turn be impacting at least 4 lives.

He was more interested in letting people realise how much he has here and there, how he can send ONLY his children to the best schools in the world etc. If those people that are witch hunting are being selfish, we should care less because Saraki never cared too.

Guess what, if the tables were turned, he would have done the same to the other party that he is alleging to be witch hunting. It is a game of dog-eat-dog.

Orikinla you have always been my guy here on NL and I always respect your views. I will like us to put sentiment aside here and let's support a precedent that will give birth to a new era in Nigeria, it is not about right now, it is about integrity, it is about dignity, the era of bigger than the system should be over. Now that the torchlight is on Saraki, the most dignifying thing for him to do is to have resigned, when it is the turn of anybody he also leaves. Him not resign and we supporting his undue display of ego is sending a bad signal to our stance on integrity matter before the global viewers. Let Saraki resign Nigeria will not collapse if he does.
