I won't be suprised the guy is an igbo guy.

Let's be realistic and say the fact. They are the most tribalistic and racist people you can find anywhere in Africa.

It is not about pointing fingers but most of them just need a detoxing. It would do well if next generation igbo are raised to see all people as the same and treat them based on their actions and not their tribe or skin colour. Tribalism is not pride but stupidity in its entirety.

In as much as I am not in support of OP reporting to his cousin, ya'all should face reality here. There are actions that triggers the RED FLAG and this incident is one.
