Amaka , it is an issue of principle, igbos have not stand up for principle.

Do you see igbo support yorubas for the creation of more local govt in lagos,  Hell NO.

Do you see the igbos support the yorubas if the creation of Ijebu state, Ibadan and Akure state ,  Hell NO.

Your people only look at for yourself. And we are started looking out for ourself.

And I think the north should look at for itsself when it comes to removing the yorubas, edo, delta and bayelsa state into Benin republic to make the North majority. They should not care for what others think. Because I dont think others would do better.

The north have to protect its interest and it is to the interest of the North that the Yorubas, edo, delta and bayelsa state join the republic of Benin republic for the north to have 70% of the oil and majority.

You cant be a LovePeddler when it please you.
Did you mate with a rooster today ?why all these balderdash?

I read your very long post.It was
boring
senseless
annoying
daft
pointless
needless
I also read your last post from your profile,I realize you are a boko harem supporter and nothing sane can emanate from your stupid hausa mouth and your daft islamic head.
The only part of your stupid write up ,I will react to,is ''oil in the north''
Did your imam brainwash and hypnotize you today.Dont you know the heat in the north will distil oil if ever it is found there.The only countries that happens to find oil in rock and other odd places are algeria ,saudi arabia and some other countries.
So keep wishing.
Americans know how stupid and controllable the hausas can be .Hence they will do everything within their power to stop nigeria from breaking.

@Hollandis, actually I made that post hoping that there are people that will reason with me on this thread. I expect you to treat the points I raised point by point like any reasonable person will do. But instead you dodged them by spraying insults and curses all around. And if you took time to read my post on Boko Haram, you will realize that I am more of a victim of Boko Haram than a supporter. Please Hollandis, calm down and get the hatred off your chest and maybe you can reason. And by the way, just like many Northerners I am not Hausa.
I think using phrases like "daft islamic head" and "stupid Hausa mouth" are very extreme and uncivilized. It is people like you that I describe in my post as highly emotional.  It is these type of extreme emotions that is always manipulated by the political elite to keep themselves in power and keep you frustrated.
About the oil in the North, I know it's bad news for those that keep arguing that it is oil that is keeping Nigeria together. But you don't really have to win an argument, just make your points clear and without insults.

I'm a little curious, what's with the Chinese script below your name  grin
And @Hollandis, I challenge you to respond to this post without cursing. At least to prove that you are civilized. grin

The Oil I talked about in Borno state is in the Chad Basin which is an area shared by Nigeria, Niger Republic and Chad Republic. Chad and Niger are already extracting oil on their own parts of the Basin. It is only Nigeria that is yet to start. Although the Federal government during Obasanjos's time has issued licences for Oil prospecting on the Nigerian side. This I think are OPL298 and OPL 732 issued during the 2006 bidding rounds. But now everything has stopped because of allegations of misconducts during that bidding round and we are told that investigations are going on.
As for the request to prove why the Hausa/Fulani don't want sovereign national conference, I can't say much because I am not Hausa/Fulani. I am not even sure that there is an ethnic group called Hausa/Fulani. One is either Hausa or Fulani. And where I come from there are no native Hausa people only Fulanis who are also of insignificant number.
But I'll advice you to put up that question to a "Hausa/Fulani" if you know any grin, maybe he/she will give you a satisfactory answer.

What really people should ask themselves is why the CIA is so interested in instigating Nigerians to break up. Could it be that if Nigeria remains together till 2015 we could become a regional competitor to them just like India and China?

In the 1980s it was the same USA that instigated India to go to war with China because China had concluded plans to colonize India. Well, the Indian government took the documents and cremated them. Did China invade India? No. Have China and India started competing with India for resources and markets all over the world today? Yes. Have China and India become more powerful? Yes. Are they rapidly moving to take over the position of the USA? Yes.

Now let's go to some stupid African people called the Eritreans.

Then, Ethiopia was the most powerful country in Africa. They challenged other continents for the rights of African Nations, they repelled colonization, they caused brain drain in other continents by attracting specialists from all over the world. They gave Africans all over the world hope and pride and belief in themselves.

So the CIA came to instigate war and disintegration. They called on different tribes to break up and provided support at the level of the United Nations for self determination. Finally, Eritrea broke off taking the entire coast of Ethiopia and making it landlocked. After decades of war and killings,  are the Eritreans doing better today or worse? Are the Ethiopians doing better or worse? From first position in Africa, where are the both of them in the world stage today?

Third example is the state of Rhode Island in the USA which has been crying against marginalization and has been calling for separation from the Union for decades. The USA that supports self determination, why haven't they supported Rhode Island to leave their Union after all these years? Is the USA with Rhode Island in it not the number 1 country in the world today?

So you have to wonder. You really have to think what their plan is.

Can I suggest, you stop making up some lousy and unfounded stories. Eritrea independent quest from Ethiopia even outdates the united State itself. I what decade did the CIA instigates India to fight China? Fight over what in particular?
The fact remain that, there had never been a cosmetic country like Nigeria that has lasted for more than 150 years without collapsing as you can't force people to leave together as one but you can force people to live peacefully as neighbours.

THE AMAKA:

cheers!

i dont want nigeria to break up.
i still want to visit every part of what is now Nigeria. i want to travel all over nigeria.
maybe if we had a good leader we can live in one peace within the same borders.
i would really like to travel to the north and see some mosques and some of the architecture i heard they have.
im just scared, and i dont want a car bomb exploding on my head because of unruly civilians.
but anyway, we should all just pray.

And how far have you travelled Nigeria in the last 48 years they had been in existence. Now Nigeria had to be kept together so that you can travel around it to see some mosque. What a crass excuse. When you think you have heard all, another one comes out. grin
Well, Russians still travel to Estonia, Ukraine etc, they don't need to keep Soviet Union going for them to do so, if mosque tourism is your excuse for one Nigeria.

The first link deals with oil in chad-cameroon not nigeria and the second one bears similarity to one of those bogus illegible maps often presented by becomstupid. So u have proved nothing. Also u claimed in your first post that there's oil in benue(not technically a northern state) and bauchi.  . .u are yet to prove that too.

Now when i say hausa/fulani i mean the ethnic groups hausa, fulani and the mixed breeds of hausa-fulani. The fulani colonized the hausas with islamic imperialism in the past and still control the hausas today. So if you are fulani the question is still directed to u and yours.

IF WAR WILL GUARANTEE THE HAPPINESS OF OUR FUTURE GENERATION THEN IT IS BETTER WE MAKE THE SACRIFICE TODAY.I AM NOT A WAR MONGER BUT I BELIEVE IN THE SCHOOL OF THOUGHT THAT ADVOCATES NO WAR NO PEACE SITUATION.WE NEED MASSIVE REVOLUTION. IF THERE IS WAR IT IS NOT GOING TO BE ONE SIDED WAR LIKE THAT OF NIGERIA AND BASRA. IT WILL BE A FULL BLOWN ONE. SO CORRUPTION SHOULD GIVE WAY SO THAT PEOPLE WILL BE HAPPY AND LIVE PEACEFULLY. AN ANGRY MAN IS A HUNGRY MAN THEY SAY, WHAT CAUSES HUNGRY=UNEMPLOYMENT, WHY UNEMPLOYMENT=CORRUPTION. ENDEMIC CORRUPTION WILL LEAD TO SUSPICION AMONG POPULACE IN TURN PEOPLE WILL START PLANNING FOR REVOLUTION THEN FAILED REVOLUTION WILL ULTIMATELY LEAD TO WAR.

You did not talk about the licences I cited,OPL 298 and OPL 732. I gave you the link on oil in Chad to prove to you that there is oil in the Chad Basin which extends well into Borno state. In the second link I want you to see the listed blocks which include Benue Through and Chad Basin. I told you to go through the data but you only looked at map and hurriedly came back to post.
Somebody on this thread said that the heat in the north will distill all the oil even if there is any. But Chad is at hot as the hottest places in Northern Nigeria and have no rocks. How come their oil is not distilled?

The essence of my original post is to show that the North has some natural resource and oil happen to be only one among a list I've given. Apart from that the north has relatively good food security and supplies the south with some essential foodstuff. That is to show that indeed the North is contributing something to Nigeria.
Actually I am trying to have a discussion here and not an argument. So all I am trying to do is present my points. If you want to debate (not argue) then present points that convincingly disprove mine.

@fayahsoul, yes I've heard many southerners say that Benue is not in the North but I've never heard the people of Benue say that. So I can't agree with you that Benue is not technically a Northern state.
And I am neither Hausa nor Fulani. Assuming every northerner must be Hausa or Fulani screams total ignorance of the north. Allow me to set straight a common mistake many Southerners make. The North is not defined by Hausa or Fulani. In fact where I come from many people look down on the Hausas and the Fulanis. But let me say that I don't share that view, cos I believe people should be respected irrespective of their ethnicities.

@hollandis

wherever there has been plant and animal lifeform for millions of years, you definitely will find crude oil there. To doubt that there are massive deposits of crude oil in the Chad Basin is unscientific. Lake Chad which you see today is the shrunken remainder of what used to be Lake Sahara that covered the whole area which is today known as the Sahara Desert. There was massive fauna and flora all over the lake area and it is these deposits that over millions of years under the earth, become hydrocarbons, whether crude oil, coal or whatever else.

@IG

you must realise that the average Nigerian is gravely ignorant. You must learn to deal with them. Some people don't even know that there are towns in Borno where almost 100 of the populace are Christians and neither Fulani nor Hausa. That's why you have to come to Nairaland, tolerate all the insults and teach, teach, teach.

@Afam

By now you should know that becomebroke is comic relief on Nairaland. Whenever I've read some posts that are very upsetting, I just click on my special comedy thread: "Why The Yoruba, Edo, Bayelsa and Delta Should Join Benin Republic". Pure comedy I tell you.

@Eziashi

have you found out that the CIA did not instigate India to go to war with China or you just don't know therefore It's a lie. See, I've gone past the elementary stage of Nairalanders where by I'll be breaking down information rather that passing across points. If you use your computer well, you will be able to direct to a website called google. Or simply type www.google.com on the address bar. Use this google to intensively search for anything you're ignorant of, and it will give you results.

Nigeria is not up to 15 years old.

If you think Nigeria was oddly put together, check out the USA. Alaska was bought with money, including the human beings in it. That is why they want to break off. Texas has always maintained in the Constitution of the USA that it can break off at any time. The time is now.

Well, I have thought about this before. It doesn't take a Nostradamus to predict this. Everybody has started understanding their games; their bloods temperatures rising and fuming for war. We are all tired of their empty promises. It is now obvious that the Militants have tested how weak and fearful Nigerian elites can be. Other militants would soon arise for their own piece of national cake. And soon after, when this becomes to rampant the elites would try to resist it. And this would eventually lead to a civil war that could break NIGERIA.
However this could be averted if only these elites are ready to make our country a better place to live in. But would they?, The answer is in their hands.

There is a frantic search for oil in the North right now, but nothing has been found to date. Prospecting has been started and cancelled, only to be restarted, so far its been a desperate endless circle.

There is some oil in Benue state, but Benue state is not in the North.

Talking about Benue, I am not just a person hearing about Benue. I've been to Benue and know people from Benue. Non of them ever agrees that they are not part of the north. But I do not know your reason for saying that it's their opinion and not a fact. Well, a fact is that the Benue state governor is a member of the northern governors forum and prominent indigenes of Benue like Paul Unongo have on serveral occasions spoken on behalf of the North.

Also just because the north supplies food items to the south does not mean the south lacks arable land.

Re: US Army Prepares For Nigeria’s Possible Break-up (2015) by 12adder: 12:17pm On Nov 04, 2012
I notice a unanimous agreement among Nigerians that another civil war will never happen. This makes me wonder where the US gathers its intelligence on Nigeria from. I love the US, but I love my country even more. The various scenarios being bandied about are merely academic exercises; but looking slightly beyond that, let us, as Nigerian, rethink our ways and deliberately start beaming only positive energy towards the efforts at putting our beloved country on the pedestal where it rightly belongs among the great nations of the world.
