There's a report of Alimodu Sherrif's disenchantment with the continuation of the convention citing Court order. Another report says while the PDP governors and party executive insisted on electing caretaker committee to stair the affairs of the party, Sherrif wanted an outright election that would pave way for his continued chairmanship. Nonetheless, the convention is going ahead.

Former governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu moving a motion for the suspension of existing PDP's zoning formula and adopting a new zoning arrangement that gives the party's presidential candidacy to the north in 2019.

No sane person can argue this point but because our kind of politics has been so monetized that its return is even more than drug biz, money rituals or even most large scale businesses, greed, selfish interest and elephantine ego won't let people see road.

Everyone is battlling for the soul of the party....

If this in fighting were to be in the interest of the people, everyone would applaud them but not at all, it's all for self aggrandizement.....

SAS is not someone that should be mentioned in the first place, if they had withdrawn their support for him, u would've seen mass exodus from the Party. Thank God they were sensible enough to withdraw his candidature

Senator Akpabio moving a motion for the constitution of a Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the party for the next 90 days. Markafi nominated as Chairman, Ben Obi as the Secretary. Other members of the committee as approved by the convention include Aisha Aliyu, Odion, Ayo Adeyeye etc. No member of the CC can stand for election in the next convention.
