The Western Nigeria, Nigerians And The Truth by martinslanre(m): 5:01pm On Jul 11, 2016
There's Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen from the North, our brothers from the East are clamoring for Biafra while our kinsmen from South have Avengers. There seem to be one particular thing from each region from Nigeria that threatens it's peace and harmony except the Western region. We in the Western region have peace and harmony.

Our desire for peace and harmony runs through our vain and was passed to us by our great father's fathers down to us. But our unquenchable thirst for peace should not be misunderstood for weakness, instead it should be seen as a sign of strength; strength born out of wisdom and uncommon knowledge. Our great fathers before us know and we that are here now also know that the value of peace is of inestimable value and that is why we will always be ahead of them and that is why our land will be the point of convergence to all other region when they need neutral ground.

Our peaceful state makes it easy to think and reason "Omo Yoruba Ronu" and that makes us see what they are yet to see. The unity we clamor for is not for our sake alone but for the sake of everyone that is still within this nation as at this point in time.
The south wants to go, the east wants to go. May heaven and the universe punish and never forgive any Nigerian leader that will sanction that move, because it will be hard to see people we once call brothers to end up suffering and in disarray. South Sudan got it's independence 5 years ago and today there are over 1.6million South Sudanese that are displaced, more than 850 thousand registered south Sudanese refugees in other nations while more than 270 thousand are displaced inside Sudan itself. What baffles me is that the people that are suffering the most are those who don't know the genesis or the reasons for the disintegration. Those who called for it are in good conditions and leaving like kings and queens.

If you are Igbo(east) or from the Niger-delta (South) you should ask yourself some critical questions. Why fight a war you know nothing about, do you know the origin of the agitation apart from those your parents told you?
Will those who tell us to fight and protest on the street boldly come out with their wives and kids to demand for what we are demanding for?
Ojukwu ran when the going got tough, Tompolo is on the run as at now too, Asari Dokubo built his private university in another nation...Will those people telling you to do what you are doing run when the going gets tough again?

There are mechanisms to running a nation and those should be put in place first before going if it becomes compulsory and necessary to go. If any of the two regions leave Nigeria as at now it will be a successful suicidal attempt. The leaders that will be leading those nation will be the same leaders who have been and are still currently looting their allocations and eating what belongs to those regions. Those regions have governors, senators and representatives if they will lead them well in their future nation then we should see the signs without stressing our eyes now " Sunday to ba ma dara, ale Saturday lati mo"

We can and we will surely make it together as a Nation. No other black nation is arguably better than us even in our mess, now imagine us in our greatness or when we are operating at our rightful potential. Our population and diversity is in itself a blessing and I don't mean to be rude when I say a rightful working Nigeria will be rubbing shoulders with USA UK France, all we need are leaders who genuinely love us and splitting won't provide any region with the perfect leader.

Abeg abeg.....no be by force.

Shuku okuko bambiala punish the idiot that fought against the secession clause in the constitution that birthed independence.

Each constituent part of this geographical expression has a very good chance of succeeding away from each other and even if they end up in failure or chaos, its their right to. Regionalism of the first republic proved that.

No marriage is by force biko

Op, it's obvious you are one of the many misguided Yorubas who refuse to acknowledge that this country has never and will never be united. Your likes will eventually get Yorubas into some serious problems that may take generations to correct, with your line of thinking -- the infamous AFONJA miscalculation comes to mind. Unity can't be forced. if Igbos want out, why are you insisting they remain with the rest of the country? They as well as others agitating for a separation are entitled to want out! Nigeria's unity is NOT BY FORCE! Yorubas like myself also want out!!! This marriage has never worked so why keep fooling ourselves? It's criminal to force an unhappy spouse to remain in a marriage he/she's no longer interested in. Why can't Yorubas like you just get that simple concept? Yorubas can stand alone as a nation, we have all it takes, so why this twisted, self-hating, and cowardly 'One Nigeria' obsession for goodness sakes??

You guys from the SW make me laugh. What was the point of this you write up? You have had Nigeria for 102 years, it is still a messed up place with 70% porverty rate. So what is the point of it? The last time there was Biafra, it was you guys that teamed up with your Northern friends to come to the East where people were enjoying their new found freedom to start a war. After fighting for 'one Nigeria', where is Nigeria today? Nigeria is even more divided now than the day Ojukwu declared Biafra. Have you ever seen a divided people who make progress? Why can't you go and manage your self in Oduduwa Republic and strive to rub shoulders with America? You are busy looking for who you will do 'one Nigeria' with even though the evidence is all around you that one Nigeria does not work.

Who told u that? Omo iya, a lot of good will come to all if we stand apart.

ABU Zaria was built with groundnut money. OAU Ife was built with cocoa. Cocoa house, liberty stadium, WNTV (that became NTA), Odua group of companies which include Lagos airport hotel, premier hotel etc were all built with cocoa money.

Every region including the north we all love to deride made tremendous progress in the first republic without oyel money so why do you think breaking up won't be fruitful?

Ibos finally realized there is no way forward on Biafra and secession and now making a desperate move to position one nigeria as the only way forward.

Im happy that you recovered and gained your senses back. Again, hundreds of Ibo lives wasted in the unecessary and ill-planned protest but it is better to surrender than keep protesting and loosing lives. It is best to first have a solid plan with resolve to see it to the end than to start a uprising with a half life cycle. In the area of political organization and social liberties there are still lessons for Ibos to learn.

Ibos, disguised as Yorubas and Hausas, are on social media spreading message of unity for Nigeria and advocating ressons why Nigeria is incomplete without Ibos. If this is not an act of cowardness I don't know what other thing to call it.

Some years not long ago after a Yoruba won the election and was disenfranchised, the Yorubas, who the Ibos fondly refer to as cowards, staged an uprising that crippled the government and forced other ethnic groups to vacate Yorubaland in fear. The agitation was from top to bottom of the Yoruba ethnicity. Those infront leading the street protests were senior lawyers, politicians, retired military officers, academicians, diplomats, and so on....behind them were the ordinary citizens. Political militias were targeting military, police and goverment assets and terrorizing the institution and unity of Nigeria. As government arrested and put our leaders in jail their position was quickly filled by new set of leaders. Our Obas spoke with one voice and endorsed the actions of their subjects and demanded the government correct the injustice if they want peace. UK and US got involved as mediators and finally Federal Government caved in. For the first time in its history Nigeria conceeded the Presidential election to candidates from one ethnic race. It had not been done before and never since. Why? Planning, resolve and truth!

We don't call it an act of bravery, no doubt it is not an act cowardice....but we call it an act of political wisdom!

Those who call themselves brave and others cowards, at every turn of their political aspirations they meet roadblocks and the first thing they do is retreat. What kind of bravery is in this people's gene?

Meanwhile, here's what Aribisala, one of their favourite adopted sons, told them today:

The Igbo seem to hate themselves
as much as they hate others. They seem to fight
themselves with as much venom as they fight
others. Every potential Igbo leader seems to
have more enemies within than without.
I wonder what they think of it.

When are you Yoruboids ever going to get tired of this your propaganda?
It's really pathetic. How exactly did your street protests yield any result?

Was Abiola not still jailed, rotted and wasted in jail, sold out by Yoruba Obas and political class for love of money.

Obj emergence had nothing to do with Abiola, Obj had always been a beloved of the Caucasian pupette masters, he was the perfect puppet.

When Murtala Muhammad was removed by the Caucasian powers, Obj was brought in to stabilize things and give them( Caucasian powers) the things Murtala resisted and refused giving them.

When Abacha started proving difficult and had to be removed, the Caucasian masters once again turned back to their Favourite puppete Obj.

AD was a Yoruba party, of course it was always going to throw up a Yoruba candidate.

OBJ emergence had nothing to do with Yorubas, it had more to do with international powers at play, the Northen powers had no choice but to tag along, the election was a mere formality.

OBJ emergence had nothing to do with Yorubas, and at no time did the entire country surrender the presidential seat to the Yorubas.

It's time you snapped out of your delusions.

One can almost not ignore them- like some tiny pesky bug in a humid day.

You see, all that agitation nonsense is nothing but a tool used to distract, disrupt and sabotage the government. That is why one of them who wrote that piece earlier today opined that Kanu is nothing but a fraudster and iPod is nothing but a fraudulent enterprise.

But they would NEVER accept that- the pirate radio station has radicalised them so much they could hardly string two sensible ideas together.

It is a damn shame how a major ethnic group has stooped so low as to become subservant to almost all minority groups and certainly all major groups.

Shame...

If your eastern region was being fed from lagos, western region wasn't. I will not give you stats but when every idiot knows that Western Nigeria Television (WNTV) created by Awo with cocoa money was kolobied by the federal govt to become NTA, then you can use your tongue to count your teeth. Or can you tell us how much the FG used to send to Western region as allocation?

In any case, how does that stop you actualising your utopian dream country?
