tethered drone

Not sure what the payload capacity or the altitude is. it should be fitted with long range EO pod / radar etc to enable deployment in border out posts and vital installations

GE Aviation has handed over two F414GEINS6 engines which will eventually power Tejas MK2 by 2020. GE Aviation is in process of handing over 6 more F414GEINS6 engines this year alone confirmed GE Aviation to Indian media.

In October 2010, the F414INS6 derivative of the F414 was been selected to power the MK2 version of India’s HAL Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA). India expects to purchase up to 99 installed engines.

F414INS6 delivers 35% more thrust than the original F404, which is used in LCA MK1 and MK1A.

GE Aviation has carried out additional modification to the engines to ensure better inflight safety considering LCA Tejas is a single engined fighter jet.

ADA plans to freeze the final design of MK2 version by 2019 to being work on first IOC certified aircraft which will take flight by 2020 or early 2021 . work on Air Force and Naval version of LCA MK2 version will be carried out simultaneously.

the LCA MK2 will a longer (by 1 metre) than LCA MK1 & it will feature bigger-size LEVCONs. Cmde Balaji also confirmed that this time, both the IAF & IN versions of the LCA MK2 will have identical landing gear designs. And finally, selection of the Cockpit-NG (to be supplied by the HALBIT JV of HAL & ELBIT Systems) is now a foregone conclusion.

LCA MK2 will be a full fledged MMRCA with AESA radar , IRST , IFR probe , internal ASPJ (EW) etc etc , talks r on with Russian OEM to develop 3D TVC for fitment to the American F414GEINS6 engines of LCA MK2.

also 50 new build SUPER SU30 MKIs is to be delivered to the IAF (for which the contract is now under negotiations), the more powerful AL-41FPs engines of the SU35 will come as standard fit as part of the upgrade.

the new deal for 50 new build SUPER SU30 MKIs will be part of the umbrella inter-governmental agreement inked in the year 2000 under which India had committed to procure a total of 350 SU30 MKIs in different versions.

also the older AL-31FPs of the SU 30 MKI which has 2,000-hour TTSLs will be replaced with AL-41FPs after the TTSL of the AL-31FP has been exhausted and also when the said SU30 MKI is simultaneously sent for up-gradation to the SUPER SU30 MKI version.

Knowing the Japanese, the problems causing those delays could be overlooked in other aircrafts. Might end up being one of the most reliable aircrafts.

that is still a question

As a commercial plane ,comparing with current level. This plane save 20% oil consumption.yes the technology is very advanced, but the pice is said to rise up to 30% as previously forecasted. And the delay could cause orders cancelation. the delivery date has been delaid 5 times already, who can ensure no 6 time.
