Private individuals are the current drivers of this technology. Of course governments, like the US government, invested substantially in jet pack technology but its inherent limitations still restricted its application. I mean you can only load so much fuel/propellant on a jet pack attached to a human which consumes fuel/propellant fast.

To even get concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide for the Hydrogen Peroxide powered packs is a major headache.

On a side note; may the memory of Wendell Moore be blessed for his contributions to this and other Aerospace technologies.

@nemesis any news on the FGFA in the expo

Russia has said that the fifth generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) program that is being planned with India would be a 'completely new aircraft' and is not linked to Moscow's own new generation fighter, the Sukhoi T 50. In a detailed discussion, Russia's largest state holding company in the defence sector, Rostec has said that it is worrying that faster progress has not been made by the Indian side to finalise the project.

Russia is keen to differentiate the Indian project with its ongoing T 50 fighter jet program. "The Indian FGFA is not a copy cat of the T 50, it will be a new aircraft that will also have some technologies from the T 50. If India had wanted the T 50, we would not be working on a new aircraft (FGFA) program," Kladov (Director, International Cooperation, Rostec) said.

negotiations r now happening on Indian rights to IPR of FGFA or any of its derivatives and share from all possible export variants either from Russia or India.

India lost a great deal when Indian contribution/investment to SU30MKI had gone waste when all the subsequent variants of SU30 which Russia sold and which were based on the experience of developing SU30MKI did not help India gain any monetary benefits.

so this time India will make sure all ends r tied before committing to joint development of FGFA.

the russians must be high on Volka.
why the u-turn.
every detail on the FGFA places it as a version of PAKFA.
the Russians are really confused

who would u believe online sources or people involved in PAKFA/FGFA ?

IAF was unhappy with some of the feature of PAKFA , they wanted radical changes plus incorporation of indian and israeli / french technology.

so only way to do that would be is to take the base structural design and adapt it to requirements.

another thing PAKFA is already developed , indians would learn jack shit from it, only way india can build on her expertise would be by building a new version from scratch , which will then contribute to AMCA and maybe LSA.
