not many know there was a time when Norway used to support insurgency in India especially the christian militant groups. they still do ,but limited in scope nowadays. NSCIM militant group leadership used to operate from Norway, also surprise surprise LTTE was provided considerable support. they also used to fund evangelist groups to convert Hindus etc so in the 1980s Indian intel orgs got a small payback , they vanished a Norwegian cargo ship , loaded with Norwegian heavy water (used in nuclear reactors) from European waters. the Norwegians were clueless at first but later satellite pics of an Indian salvage yard gave them hints to what might have transpired with their ship. they went to ICJ against India , but nothing happened as there was no hard evidence only circumstantial ones . what happened to the crew nobody knows ,maybe sea food ,but i aint shedding tears. note: all this was not only limited to making cargo ships disappear ,their air cargoes used to vanish too lolzz this is how to a small extent Norwegian interference in Indian state matters was curtailed 1 Like |

Odunayaw: anyways CX1 is different from brahmos , only the aesthetics are similar its propulsion is a rocket engine unlike a ramjet engine in brahmos i wonder why they went for the conical air intakes or any air intakes for the matter , given its zero need in a rocket engine propulsion based missile. guess (pun intended and just my opinion) they wanted to market and sell it as a brahmos clone . |

@newafricaken254 this is why i had my doubts.............. every MRAP has V shaped hull which deflects the blast force outwards or atleast tries to inorder to mitigate extensive hull damage. that is why MRAPs tend to loose their suspension and tires in a IED blast, unless a EFP based IED was used , which due to imperfect machining of the liner and due to loosing its energy via penetration of the hull would find it hard to inflict damage to the roof . plus EFP based IED blast effects r localized at point of impact only as it simply cuts through Armour , not blow doors and shatter the whole body/hull. also i tried to google about the blast ,came up with non official twitter link only u have photos of the surgical gloves and cloths etc on site ?

HUD .......

Re: Technical Discussions On International Military Equipments Doctrines Tactics Etc by Nobody: 5:02pm On Jun 26, 2017 |
nemesis2u: Yes, that HUD. Why that HUD instead of the types we see in the Rafale? What advantages? |
Re: Technical Discussions On International Military Equipments Doctrines Tactics Etc by Nobody: 5:27pm On Jun 26, 2017 |
Henry240: why ? lack of advance tech compared to what the french have (one of the reason maybe) Indians had to start some where , so they started with the safest and mature option available with them inhouse, these r locally developed. as i mentioned before in a similar query from u, HUD types r dictated mainly by what the designers want (or have at their disposal ) and its suitability with the systems / cockpit features onboard some parameters 1.the FOV of the frontal cockpit directly facing the pilot 2.technology implemented via the collimation systems used 3.suitability of combiner supports 4.data projection (symbology) technology being implemented , and importantly aircraft's ability to generate and fuse relevant data together for feed to HUD with high fidelity. etc as for indian HUD advantage it is locally made it is affordable suits the requirements 1 Like |

nemesis2u: Good, this is a more elaborate answer. Much better than the answer you provided in the past. Moving on, the Iskander missile, I've read a bit on it, but what is it actually, what's it's blast radius and on what sort of targets can it be used? Your opinion on the Iskander generally. |
