even 2 should be enough in the near term

There's no political will to support a large scale defense acquisition because of fear of coup.

Executive orders will be flowing.

Immediate order and payments payment of 2 squadrons of SU-30

*4 Admiral Grigorovich class frigates
* About submarine, I'll have to ask here on nairaland grin

Then final action is to sign a legal immunity.

shocked shocked shocked

anyways in indi... military is powerless and not interested in coups etc

but funnily civilian government is paranoid and has a elaborate mechanism in place to thwart such attempts nevertheless.

few years ago a para unit was moved from its base and ordered to approach the capital under the cover of fog

the area outside the capital has several observation stations manned by civilians , the moment they detected those troops under their nose , they shiiit their pants and immediately the political elite was informed of it , the fuucckers almost fainted grin

they rang up the press,
and then the army HQ who later clarified they were practicing ops under fog conditions.
they did not believe it untill the troops were moved back

i wish the troops had gone in and atleast beaten the crap out of the fuucker politicians grin grin grin

There's nothing funnier than a scared politician. You shouldn't wish for a coup. Once it starts it rarely stops. Nigeria is like this cause of our coups. I doubt there are mechanism to stop a coup in Nigeria. The military is basically mixed with politics.

I mistakenly quoted you instead of barineh that made the weird assertion before remedying it. Coup can only happen in Nigeria again only if world order has totally gone awry. Like when Armageddon is here and everyone is busy fighting for his head to notice some dunderheads trying to snatch power.

It is practically impossible, except if the entire Nigerian population is in total support. And there is a popular saying in Nigeria that the worst civilian government is better than the best military government. It is a proven fact in Nigeria.

Remember, there are well over 300 ethnic groups in Nigeria. Three major religions. A coup d'etat will definetely be seen from an ethno-religious perspective which may ultimately cause the disintegration of the country.

Lots of people still eat snail in Nigeria, I inclusive. I once kept a mini snail farm myself but they are just too gross and dirty I eventually grew tired of them. That day I feasted on snail meat. Yummy. grin grin cheesy cheesy
