THIS IS THE STORY OF MUHAMMAD IDRIS (tetengi4life@gmail.com)

It contains his life story including field videos, relevant pictures and documents of how he is helping (humanitarian assistance) to save several communities forgotten or torn by War in Nigeria including Internally Displaced Persons Camps (living in hunger and poverty), with his volunteer work for local and International NGOs and his work as a Co-founder and Director of Peace and Conflict for Platinum intervention

During most of his online applications, he was able to derive and summarize the questions into mainly 2, which are

1. How have you demonstrated leadership?

2.How have you helped to create positive change in your community and What are your plans to further increase your social impact in the future?

ANSWER TO THE QUESTIONS

How have you demonstrated in leadership?

ANSWER 1
Muhammad started from the position of Financial Secretary of SPAN (Students Physiological Association of Nigeria) Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 2011 to 2012. Before that period, the association was disorganized, corrupt, students were complaining that the association is favoring a religion over others. When he came in, he blocked all the financial loopholes and united the students more than ever before. Because of that, he was elected as the President of the association in 2012. During that period, he organized public lectures and tutorials for the students to improve their academic performances. They organized health week in which several health activities took place like HIV test, BMI, Blood pressure level check, vision test, enlightenment on several diseases to the public. They didn't stop there, they took the challenge to the national where Muhammad led the students from North West Nigeria (Kaduna State) to a national conference at South- west Nigeria (Oyo State) across 100s of miles at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in 2013, and they were the most disciplined, most coordinated among all the schools. This made them to win a national award and position which hitherto has never happened before. Because of that, he was awarded with the most honored SPAN award (the great son of SPAN).
At the same period, he organized a movement that led to the renovation of Block A7 of Suleiman Hostel in the school and they were given the best block among all the 16 blocks that contains about 2000 students. This made the school management to give him recognition and was included in the Electoral Committee (2013/2014) that conducted the election of the largest hostel in the school. QUESTION 2:
How have you helped to create positive change in your community and What are your plans to further increase your social impact in the future?

ANSWER 1:

BRING BACK OUR GIRLS CAMPAIGN GROUP (FROM AUGUST, 2015)
After finishing his National Service, he joined the BringBackOurGirls (#BBOG) campaign group advocating for the release of the abducted Chibok school girls. He has occasionally attend some of the daily seat-outs and have participated in several #BBOG peaceful protests/demonstrations and was among the members that took the parents of the girls to the Presidential Villa to meet with the President Muhammadu Buhari in January 14, 2016.
These protests and demonstrations have been part of the efforts that drew the attention of the local and international governments and Organizations that led to the negotiation and possible release of some abducted girls.
In contributing his on quoter to the group, he tried his possible best to bridge the communication gap between the civilian JTFs in the Borno War zone and the Group so as to be getting factual information on what was going on the search and rescue of the girls and the fight against terrorism.

QUESTION 2.
How have you helped to create positive change in your community and What are your plans to further increase your social impact in the future? Continue...?

ANSWER 2
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE AT GOMBE PRISON YARD
During his National Service, Muhammad also carried out a VOLUNTARY personal community service in Gombe State Prison yard for 948 inmates. He made a commitment to provide drugs, medical equipment and renovation of the overpopulated prison yard. At that period, the activity of the Boko Haram terrorist was at its climax in the State, making mobility very difficult and risky. However, with courage and tenacity in search for support, he traveled to a dangerous territory (Ashaka cement factory in Gombe) where boko haram once hoisted their flag. Ashaka cement factory was attacked by boko haram in November 2014 in search of dynamite, 3 months later; Muhammad went to them for sponsorship. His valor and persuasion made the company to sponsor his project for these inmates.
While transporting the relief materials through the trenches, he was almost lynched as the supplies were mistaken for a bomb. But he succeeded and took the aid to save the lives of those inmates and renovated the prison yard. The Governor awarded him as the best corps member out of thousands posted to the state amid insecurity.
After his service, with the experience gathered, he created an online platform (https://www.nairaland.com/3180268/nysc-personal-cds-procedures-made) where he mentors thousands of NYSC youths on community services across Nigeria. He is currently touching lives of about 20,000 people, with the projects that are currently carried out by dozens of the corps member under his supervision. ON OUR ALMAJIRI PROJECT

This is a short documentary on our Almajiri projects across North to put you up to speed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UAOavU0POg&t=1s

Background/Introduction
The Almajiri (Islamic scholarship migrant culture) is an increasingly pressing concern in Northern Nigeria. There are an estimated 9-10 million Almajiris in the 19 northern states at any given time. The practice involves sending children to other States and nations for Islamic studies. Most of the children do not receive a formal education.

Many children are sent from an age of 6 years. Many children are sent out to beg for alms during the day when there are no classes.
Almajiri children live in some of the shabbiest conditions imaginable. There are next to no jobs or opportunities for Almajiri adults in the increasingly challenging and competitive north. The above makes Almajiris prime targets for radicalization. Addressing Almajirinchi is an essential element of insecurity crisis in Nigeria. It is also a human rights issue affecting the rights of children.

Borno, epicentre of Boko Haram has 1 million Almajiris; many of Borno’s Almajiris are from neighboring nations, thus presenting a regional crisis.
This is one of the video we took at Keffi City that show a clear description of how the children go street to street to beg for alms in shabby condition

Meet Mallam Bako (an Almajiri teacher) as they interviewed him at his Almajiri school at Waje area of keffi. He has 55 almajiri children under his care. but their number have outgrown his pocket as such some of them had to go the street to beg to cater for themselves. He also narrated a story of an almajiri child that is now cripple as he was hit by a car while he was begging on the street. According to him, there are about 100 almajiri schools in keffi alone. He also stated that the almajiri system has changed compare to when they were kids, that they were more moral, obedient and do not beg in the street unlike the present age Almajiris.
This is one of the short interview video we took and translated

when they went to the keffi market to get them food and foot wears to make them comfortable in giving us the data we needed

Interview with some of the kids. Some told them they want to become a soldier, some said a doctor while one of them said he want to become a VIGILANTEE (dan banga) and they all laughed out loud. it was fun

AmnestyInternational #Indonesian Killing
Tomorrow Indonesian government will execute (by firing squad) 14 people, 5 which are Nigerians.( 1. Nonso Kingsley Okonkwo 2. Humphrey Jefferson Ejika 3. Eugane Ape 4. Obinna Nwajagu and 5 Michael Titus Igweh).
The problem is not where they came from but the sanctity of life. We peaceful protested in the front of the Indonesian embassy today and we spoke to their diplomats but this evening, we realized that they will continue with the executions tomorrow. Some may say they deserve it, but what we are saying is that capital punishment for drugs is too harsh, they can use life sentence or any other deterring punishment other than capital punishment.
