So Yorubas have security service under OPC nobody is talking. Is it not the same security service IPOB form? and every Dick and Harry started talking. Why anything IGBOS do people will talk, even if they did what other section of the country did people will still talk. 1 Like |

vinlinks: This is old news but relevant now to the issue you raised. At different times OPC had faced many obstacles but was always reconciliatory and focused on what's important. Today, OPC, in whatever faction, has entrenched itself and is accepted as the go-to force for the defence of Yorubaland. They have upgraded their game; they attend social events in company of elites, they are invited to cultural events hosted by Obas and even politicians include them in gatherings. Their upgrade extends beyond ethnic recognition, the national security services have engaged their participation in joint operations to go after criminals and security threats. In the same period OPC has bren in existence and slowly working its way through opposition one at a time, Ibos have had Bakassi Boys, MASSOB, BZM and now IPOB. None of them has accomplished broad ethnic acceptance. This is primarily due to the refusal to humble and focus. At every point they are daring and confronting, even on issues they ought to find grounds of reconciliation, they will first fire salvos at those they need on their side. IPOB has a chance at survival but it must first learn the art of diplomacy and how to mix it with tact to turn a defiant opposition into an avid loyalist. That must first be accomplished within, and then they can count on entire Ibo population to be a standing army and back them up against external enemies. Learn from the Yorubas. 1 Like |
