This pipl are specifically the cause of their ordeals. Immediately i learnt about their vandalization of the shuttle buses because one killed one of them, i concluded that the next action by the government would be banning of street trading.

Daft pipl always resulting to some impromptu actions without considering the consequences. Vandalizing government properties to vent ur spleen is not conceivable at all

And come to think of it, who actually uses the shuttle buses if not the poor and specifically the hawkers to reduce their cost of transportation.

People should always think before taking any action.

So, APC dey organize protest against APC government in your own myopic thinking? Is it to get credit or what? Street Hawkers are protesting against government's policy and all you can do is to open mouth without thinking.

You need brain's scanning and lamination.
you think the fellow knows the meaning of propaganda right? You have time sef

Since you dem born you, wetin Nigeria government don do for you? Y you no come join them in street hawking na? You won't stop comparing Lagos to European countries but when government try to take step(s) to emulate those European countries, you will start crying.

See hypocrisy!
Really do not understand you, cause the so called European countries have social welfare benefits that sustains the downtrodden.

Very very good protest. Government job now made easy. Government should just ask policemen to round them up. Take their details especially State of Origin. Then, deport them back to their states. I am sure none of them is a Lagos State Indigene. Lagos indigene don't sell Gala and La Casera in hold ups.

A week ago, a lady approached me crying, to assist her with transport fare to go back to Ibadan since she could not openly hawk her merchandise (agbo). According to her, she just got away from task force with her goods on her head, well covered with a wrapper to conceal her merchandise in order not to fall into the hands of other waiting task force. At least, I gave her the little I could. Why I am saying this is for no other reason except to let some folks, who are privileged to have all they need or want without much stress that poverty and hardship knows no religion or tribe. Do good to all men if you are privileged to do that. Don't laugh and mock people that fell on difficult time or hardship just because they are not from your tribe or related to you.

Taking them off the streets without alternative source of income is not a fair decision by the govt. these guys strive to survive under the harshest condition instead of resorting to stealing or prostitution.

So destroying govt properties is right? They asked for it. Lagos state government became serious when govt buses and properties were destroyed after a hawker was crushed by bus.

So Lagos State Government is the one constitutionally empowered to cater for the employment of all those who leave their various states/hamlets to hawk in the street of Lagos? Everybody has the freedom of movement and choice, but note that these freedoms impose responsibilities on citizens not to constitute nuisance to the host society.

Freedom is not free in the Freetown: they should abide by the existing law of the land that have banned them since the time immemorial.

Get it right.

The truth remains that street hawking is a dangerous thing ..it's dangerous to those hawking as well as those driving .. I am with Ambode on this no sane society will allow people to be in the middle of roads side by side just because economy is bad and they must survive ..Ambode as a Governor has to protect the lives of the Ignorant road hawkers and those of the vehicle occupants ..I feel for them but Ambode is right on this one

Why this protest?

After all, you voted him to be the CEO of Lagos State because you trusted him. By so doing, you've sold your right to him and so must be bound by all his decisions.

Just enjoy your wilful decision and stop complaining.
