Why don't Nigerians get it.

If you don't want to be executed behave yourself and avoid drug trafficking.

Believe me it is quite simple.

Thank you. People like you give me hope for this country. Here is a fellow Nigerian, never suspected or arrested of drug possession. A chance to a fair trial denied. A chance for an appeal to prove his innocence and wrong conviction denied.

Yet, we have Nigerians applauding this murder.

Ok 1 case of wrongful execution.

Sad. But if his compatriots hadn't been so regularly arrested for the same crime perhaps both government's would be curious to understand why this singular person acted out if character.

Let's say a Canadian or Norwegian was "found" with drugs wouldn't we say this is out of character?

The fact is our reputation goes before us that's why even our fellow citizens aren't outraged.

The mods of this forum should have a sense of duty to educate Nigerians. There is no need having such a voice and saying nothing while foreign governments murder innocent Nigerians.

These are Nigerians who deserve justice. Threads of the Story of these people should make the front page than the outfit of a celebrity's child.

An Innocent Nigerian To Be Executed In Indonesia

When Humphrey "Jeff" Ejike Eleweke was told of his impending execution by Indonesian officials this week, he refused to sign the notification.

For almost 13 years the 43-year-old has staunchly maintained his innocence.

His lawyer Ricky Gunawan says he is another victim of the country's "corrupted" and "broken" legal system, which is at risk of shooting innocent people in the next round of executions, feared to take place this week.

In August 2003, police arrested Eleweke for possessing drugs, after they found 1.7kg of heroin in a room used by one of his employees at his Jakarta restaurant.

https://www.nairaland.com/3254783/innocent-nigerian-executed-indonesia-tomorrow

How can finding drugs in the room of someone's employee mean the man is a drug dealer. A man running a restaurant. Then the penalty is execution.

Please mods, do more. You could save innocent lives.

lalastiscala, Mynd44, Seun.

Threads like these should make front page.

I don't support capital punishment but i hope our brothers would learn to be more engaged in positive activities.

I would not be surprised if some of those guys could play music, design shoes or understand agricultural systems.

That kind of thinking is wrong. Because, you caught Nigerians doing drugs, they should murder all innocent Nigerians in Indonesia.

Is that not close to madness? This is murder. Murdering innocent people is wrong. That is why you give someone a fair trial to prove his innocence.

Do you know how many arm robberies go on everyday in this country? Does that mean we should all be executed.

This is plain murder and we should condemn it and not look for an excuse to justify the madness.

This is the reason why I will keep denying Nigeria. We don't care what happen to others, Once they are not our own tribe. Nigeria is hell bent on going to another civil war if nothing is done to keep the rate of tribalism on check.

The man was never found with drug and those that testified against him died from torture and nobody sees nothing wrong with it.

This is the pathetic result of extreme Tribal/Ethnic bigotry and years of mental slavery. A lot of Nigerians are ruled by their inferiority complex. They see the foreigners as Superior to them. Hence they see no wrong.

I repeat, the Indonesians committed murder here.

Of course it is, but it can't be worse than the ones we stone, plank, butcher, torture and set ablaze alive simultaneously, just for stealing less than $500 or handset, all in the name of jungle justice.

They littered every country in the world bringing bad reputation to our dear country. Government need to do something about any potential ugandan trying to travel to these countries.

The only thing government needs to do is to let them go and be on their own, since they're bringing you a bad name. But you guys won't allow that, what joy you derive in keeping people against their will,I don't know.

"We accepted Michael's case because we saw it had merit. Out of the many requests from prisoners on Nusakambangan, we only took this," Mr Sitor said.

He said Mr Igweh's conviction was based on the testimony of two alleged accomplices, Marlena and Izuchukwu Okoloaja, who died in police custody and could therefore not testify in court.

"We believe Marlena and Okoloaja gave Michael's name just so the police would stop torturing them," he said. "They were healthy when they were arrested, they had no history of illness, they all just suddenly died while in police custody. We all know what that means."

Titus Igweh and Humphrey Eleweke were not caught with drugs. These were Hardworking business men.

The painful part is that, they found their way to let people hear their pathetic stories. If not, many will dance in ignorance at the execution of innocent Nigerians.

Another painful part is that, there are many of Nigerians with this kind of stories.
