Don't get worked up men, it's not only in your constituency that such is happening, it is a national menace. I can bet that 99.9% of all these allocations ain't gonna go anywhere but the pockets of our polithieficians. Just relax!

Yes I know it's what is happening in all over Nigeria. Nice talk tho!

You are an acute observer of the political scene. But I don't think Serubawon stands a chance in 2018. He is from Ede which is in the same senatorial zone as Ilesha— where Aregbesola comes from. I think power will switch elsewhere. I am not too sure though. I only schooled in Osun--state, so my political calculations could be wrong. Besides, I think Lasun's age and religion give him an advantage. He is young, urbane, and well read. Adeleke is an old man and should remain in the Senate where old politicians like him spend their retirement. You didn't factor the governor's 'prerogative' to choose his successor in your permutations. Why?

As regards the role of money in our politics, it is an art that won't go away soon as long as politics remains a thriving business.

You don't know anything about Osun state. Edu and Ileana are not in the same senatorial district. It is now the turn of Serubawon senatorial district. Just to correct the wrong information you have.

I think what we ought to be doing is auditing these phantom projects. This is preposterous! these guys just keep the money to themselves and the stupid Nigerians that own the money will be here defending the legislathief from their village.

Ur analysis is very correct. Lasun has a very slim chance of winning the primary even with his money. He is going no where. Osun a dara

Amin.. smiley

Cc bejeiodus

To buttress this, Lasun is in the burn book of his party, they may have "forgotten" his role in Dogara's emergence, they (Tinubu, Baba Akande & Aregbe) haven't forgiven him..

I'm a realist per excellence so I know for a fact, those 3 will determine who gets the ticket... This trio will out spend, out muscle and break down anyone that stands in their way...

Osun politics is predictable..

You are right. I read somewhere that a Special Investigative Panel (SIP) has been setup by the IGP to look into the PADDING issue. So we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that justice will prevail at the end the day.

constituency allowance should be scrapped. i have once said it that, thats why our senators never concentrate on m,aking law. and for the question, should any lawmaker be executing project? or do project not fall under executive arm of government? Nigeria is doomed

No,Aregbesola is Ijesa which is Osun East, Ife/Ijesa axis and the zone is represented by Omoworare who took over from Omisore in 2011..

Isiaka Adeleke's Ede is in Osun west which from feelers is the zone favoured to clinch the seat (Aregbe and Oyin's zones have had their shots), Lasun though from Ilobu (very close to Osogbo), doesn't have 1/2 the clout of Serubawon, who has the distinction of winning convincingly on both APC and PDP's platform, he is not a polarising figure and he is not horribly corruption tainted.

Your Lasun permutation is wrong because Oyinlola and Adeleke contributed in no small measure to Aregbe's 2nd term victory.... As it stands today Serubawon is 75% home free... The only uncertainty is God's intervention..

Bros, as a true omo oodua, never ever let religion creep into your critique, analysis or projection when it comes to Ile kaaro ojiire's political leanings and choices, you know it never matters... BTW both Lasun and Serubawon are muslims.. wink..
APC ticket is far from Lasun....

He is from Central where Adeyeye (Ila which Baba Akande is from as well) is from, & Ex gov Oyin from okuku (...I didn't claim they are from the same zone... I just didn't make the distinction because as we know in naija Politics, even if there is rotation in place, they can manipulate in favour of preferred candidate and if you had read my 2nd post you'd have observed that I indicated that it's West's turn..

Aregbe is from Ilesa, a town that is ironically 75% populated by christians... smiley The Ijesa Axis has bred many notable Christian leaders of thought, Pastors Adeboye, Kumuyi, Abiara, Late Ayo Babalola, Ayo ni o etc.

Osun's constituency allocation is the highest because Dep Speaker Lasun Yusuf has 2018 gubernatorial ambition.. Delegates don't come free or even cheap for that matter... However it would have all come to nought even if the planned heist had come through for them..

One of the contenders is Serubawon, Ex gov, serving senator and financial powerhouse, this is a man whose bros Deji Adeleke will come through if his own personal money is not long enough to buy the needed delegates for the primary....

If by other parties you mean PDP, (the others are just pretenders) I don't think we even need to talk about it.. PDPians of note defected ages ago, there is no funds coming from the centre for any new entrants to procure support, Omisore is presently in soup, who else is left under the umbrella?

I'm surprised you'd say this, there's Adejare Bello, Sen. Akinlabi, Akogun Lere e.t.c These are politicians of note from the Osun West Sen. District still in the PDP besides haven't APC lost their goodwill in the state ?.

NB: Omisore is no longer the 'dictator' in Osun PDP. That's why he created a faction.

I do not know the day to day drama of Osun PDP but i heard there is a division over who is chairman or something of that nature, i can't be too emphatic.

One thing i can however say is that , even though the names you reeled are no lightweight, there is/was a reason Omisore got the nod then, though his stock has plummeted further.

As for losing goodwill, i won't go into a debate about that.. in the run up to 2014, same narrative of losing goodwill pervaded the air, events in Ekiti also added some impetus but we know how things turned out...

There is national hunger and people are naturally & justifiably angry with the party at the center.. It's not easy to transition from an era of free money to austerity. but i won't hold my breath that it will make a huge impact on anything.... Bayelsa is owing salary, Delta is, Osun isn't peculiar..

Osun isn't peculiar ?, Why does Cross-river not owe then ? Or most we emulate the inept governments only ?.

Anyway, this is not a debate about governance.

Oyinlola was relevant at a time as well but he couldn't even get a Senatorial ticket, Same for Rt. Hon. Patricia Etteh. Omisore has lost his hold on Osun PDP as well.
The party has realised he was the reason for their failure at the last poll and they are trying to do away with him.

As regards Adeleke, I haven't heard his name being mentioned anywhere.

Names being touted in APC circles are Muiz Banire, Mojeed Alabi....Najeem Salam.

Besides who wants Adeleke again ?!.
