Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday bade the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) good night, saying he will not return to the party.
Obasanjo spoke to journalists in Jalingo, Taraba, while assessing some projects initiated by his administration in the state.
The ex- President terminated his membership of PDP in February last year.
Speaking on the lingering crisis in the party which now has two national chairmen, Obasanjo said he had already bade PDP good night and cannot return to say good evening.
“In the part of the country where I come from, there is a saying that you cannot say ‘good night’ and come back to say ‘good evening’ in the same place.
“So for me, it is good night for the Peoples Democratic Party and that’s all,” he said.
He expressed confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari will surmount the present challenges confronting the country.
“So far Buhari has not disappointed us. I trust him (Buhari), he will not fail Nigerians. I know he will overcome the challenges the country is currently facing,” the ex-President added.
He also urged the President to complete the hydroelectric project on the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba.

Once OBJ cannot control a sitting president to do his wishes, that President has become his sworn enemies. The same man who didn't listen to advice and the cry of the electorates over his devilish policy.I pray he doesn't turn his back against pmb when he snub him.

I don't see Nigeria moving forward with the set of politicians we currently have. None of them really have the interest of the common man in their hearts. They get there, amassing wealth in their own pockets. If not for politics people like Saraki, Amaechi, TINUBU, GEJ, OBJ and Co will not be as rich as they are now. Posterity will judge all those that are looting our Democratic dividends and making us to live in agony.

Baba is an asset to any political party, the PDP surely know this and a lot of the issues killing the party today are not unconnected to his exit from the dying party.

Thankfully he's always on hand to give advice to President Buhari and is a frequent visitor to the Villa so it's PDP's loss and the ruling party's gain.

Long live the Ebora, and good night PDP.

Attention who-re.! Always desperate to insert himself into the middle of every crises just to stay relevant. I must be in the news today!! Thats the mentality. Lately he has been trying to rewrite history as he usually does by recruiting a bunch of stary-eyed nollywood stars to produce dubious films that recreate him as the Lugard, the Zik, Awolowo and Sarduana of Nigeria all rolled into one! A man who had the biggest goodwill to firmly entrench democracy in 1999, but chose to brutalise the system through corrupt impositions, wrechless impeachments and wanton assasinations. His endless removals of the senate presidents and attempted third term brought the "ghana must go" politics to a new democracy. This man has overstayed his welcome and should be packed off to the dustbin of history where he rightly belongs.

Anyone above 70 should not retire into politics in Nigeria. They have exhausted their useful life and should be spectators or advisers in the political arena and not gladiators in the front line.

This is one of the ways we can have a New Nigeria. All of them should retire home and let fresh blood enter the system and purge the mess they have created for the younger generation!

Nigeria shall be great without PDP and APC!
