The Truth About Buhari Being A Tyrant, A Reply To Reno Omokri -veraponpo by veraponpo(m): 11:48am On Aug 23, 2016
I have read with keen interest and also with a level of bewilderment, the views of many and opinions of others. We have read many things from Femi Fani-Kayode, Governor Ayodele Fayose, now Reno Omokri and many others about President Buhari being a tyrant. The question that we have failed to ask is 'why is it always these 3 persons?

There were more than 40 ministers under Jonathan, why Fani Kayode? there were more than 24 governors in PDP under Jonathan why Fayose? There were many spokespersons under Jonathan why Reno? The answer is simple, they are psychologically whipping emotions of people against President Buhari just to paint Jonathan as an innocent person, alas!, It is too late.

Mr Reno's view was brought online through the thread: https://www.nairaland.com/3304395/buhari-tyranny-been-vindicated-reno which flowed from his tweets on the judgement against Mr Joe, a dog owner.

While act of tyranny is to be condemned by all, we should try to avoid attaching a wrong allegation to an innocent person. What transpired is totally different from what Reno was adjudging. The situation was actually between two adults and not with the President of this country. So, how does President Buhari come into this issue in the first place? It is simple, use the occurrence to rope Buhari, the same thing Fayose did when Aisha Buhari was mentioned in Halliburton Scandal not trying to investigate who is this Aisha Buhari?

The incident was between two men: Mr Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, of No 10, Omikunle Street, Sango-Ota, Ogun State who bought dog and painted (inscribed) the name BUHARI on it, a name that is the surname of a Mallam in the Sabo area of the community, a place densely populated by Hausa-Muslims.

The mistake many are making is that Mr Joe was arrested for naming his pet Buhari (our President's name), No.
Some believed it is the FG that sued the man for naming his dog Buhari, No.
Some even believed it was President Buhari that ordered his arrest, No.
Some saw it as an act of tyranny and vendetta from the president, No.
Some did not even ask question about what really transpired, but because the name Buhari is involved, then Buhari is not tolerant in any way, this is also a 'No'.

The answer to all these questions is capital 'NO'.

These and many conspiracy theories have come out from many including Reno Omokri, a supposed pastor who likes to manipulate lies to whip up people's emotion.

What happened could have happened to any of us. The mallam was the one who sued Mr Joe because the name is his father's name. Mr Joe had not only called his pet dog Buhari, the surname of this mallam but he went further to paint the dog with the name and took the dog to the market where many Hausa muslims were selling their wares.

We should not forget our history so quickly, what led to Pogrom of 1967 was the painting of clothes and caricature diagrams of Ahmadu Bello and Tarfa Balewa by some women and youths from Igboland in the north showing Igbo people treading these great Hausa leaders that were killed by Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, an Igbo Soldier. This act led to the death of many and eventually civil war.

Another reason why evil and impunity have continued in this country is because bad actions don't get corresponding punishments. As a result many join the evil act, perpetrate more evils and eventually lead to chaos and anarchy in the country.

In case you do not know, Mr Reno Omokri, one of the reasons why Jonathan lost was because he lacked the balls to fight impunity. He incapacitated EFCC, ICPC, Police Force, Nigeria Army, etc. While many were doing bad things, he was saying stealing is not corruption. He allowed militancy to fester where a stitch in time could have saved nine. A quick response could have solved many problems or at least control it from degenerating into a worse scenario. Jonathan allowed militant to have field days, Boko Haram were controlling more than 20 local governments in 3 states and were regrouping in other places like Kano, Bauchi, Kogi and Kaduna.

What happened to Mr Joe (the dog owner) is what we call Rule of Law. What Mr Joe did is enough to start communal unrest because he was in a strange land yet looking for a way to cause trouble that could lead to mayhem. If there was unrest, many lives could have gone for it with some children becoming fatherless and some totally orphaned. This single act will reset the brain of many to know that any act that disturbs the peace of any community is punishable by Nigeria law and should be refrained from.

We should learn to devoid our thinking faculty from emotional reaction but what is ideal for a sane society is what we should pursue. What is obtainable by global best practice and our law.

Finally, it was not President Buhari that sued Mr Joe but an individual before Nigerian Police took the case as it is no more a civil case but a criminal case which is under the purview of the Criminal Codes of the country because it can break the peace of the community.

God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Is it now illegal to name ur dog simply becos a particular tribe might find it offensive & murder innocent Nigerians? And this murderous people must be protected at all costs?

Only days ago, 8 persons were murdered and the police watched it like a Spartacus movie; but a mere dog-namer has been served swift (in)justice. Is this really a country?

Democracy doesn't bestow the right to cause public disturbance on anyone. Yes he is free to name his dog or goat Buhari or whatever. It is plain stupid and idiotic to WRITE BUHARI ON HIS DOG AND PARADE SAME AMONG THE HAUSAS. It is very offensive and provocative. He is very lucky the Hausas there are more rational and more reasonable than the average almajiris. If not, we for don read about his demise.

Like Dilector Kanu like this idiot Joe.

Quote me and come up with common sense arguments. If not you will be ignored to the extent you'll doubt your existence.
If we're not hypocritical, let's sincerely ask ourselves what Igbos will do to anyone who condemns Kanu while in their midst? Pat him on his back and say well done?

Make una use una common sense abeg. At least it's free gift from God.

I don't think it is illegal to give your dog any name that suits you but I think it is illegal for anybody to try to instigate the breakdown of law and order in a community, either directly or indirectly and I commend the Nigeria police force for acting quickly before the matter could degenerate.

I also think it is unfair, unjust and immoral, wicked and malicious for anybody to try to drag an innocent PMB into a matter that doesn't concern him in anyway. Calling the president a tyrant over a matter he knows nothing about is an act of injustice against him. We should all speak up and condemn people like Reno omokri who feeds people with false information just to discredit the person of the president.

Thank you but this is why we are where we are in this country.

Every act of impunity should be punished. Especially when it has not degenerated into a worse situation. It will serve as deterrent to many who could think of it.

Did you notice that when Niger Delta Avengers discovered that FG is not ready to back out on fighting them and that FG is getting more warships, gun-boats and Fighter jets, they agreed on a ceasefire and embraced dialogue.

This is how a serious government should be acting. Take action, punish evil act, allow dialogue when relevant, allow rule of law, encourage good acts, etc.

Let us start from somewhere.

If we're not hypocritical, let's sincerely ask ourselves what Igbos will do to anyone who condemns Kanu while in their midst? Pat him on his back and say well done?

Make una use una common sense abeg. At least it's free gift from God.

is Kanu the president of Nigeria

for pete sake, Buhari should learn to ignore some frivolous issues like dog naming ceremonies and concentrate on how to tackle the economic mess Nigeria is into.

Let us start from somewhere.

dog naming ceremony should not be an issue of concern to my president at this moment.

Buhari should concentrate on fixing the economic mess his cabinet has plunged Nigerians into.

Those trying fruitlessly to get the attention of Mr President on this issue by bringing him in are on a long walking rope cos my disciplined president I know gat no time for pettiness.

Mr Joe probably like any other reactionary wailer has no knowledge of the legal implications of his actions. He was banking on 'ipob freedom of expression' the same empty thought that land the albino in kuje that come Oct.2016 we will celebrating his Zeroism.

What I read from this article and many others that have appeared here on Nairaland and elsewhere in defence of the Police and the Buhari Name supporters who feel its alright to trample on the liberties of a simple dog owner is that the Hausa/Fulani tribe is Sub Human and aren't capable of tolerance hence should be treated carefully same way we would treat say a Loose Lion, an Injured Snake or Rabid Dog.

I refuse categorically to accept this false classification of the Hausa/Fulani. And I expect Hausa/Fulanis to be angry with anyone that supports the police's action because that action seems to acclaim that the Hausa/Fulani man is a dangerous breed that we must all be careful about.

My question to the poster that feels naming a dog after Buhari is enough to cause a civil war is this:

Would a civil war start in Oyo State if a monkey is named Tinubu assuming Tinubu is the name of someone's Father in Ibadan?
Would a Civil war start in Yenegoa if a Goat is named after Goodluck assuming Goodluck is the name of someone's Father in Bayelsa.
Would a civil war start in Enugu if a Chicken is named after say Obiano??

Why then would you hold the Hausa/Fulani's to a standard that is below these others?? Its terrible how you are snidely insinuating that the Hausa/Fulani are incapable of reason. Once again I repeat that every Hausa/Fulani should be terribly angry with these poeple supporting the impunity of the police and denigrating the position of its people.

Similar question I asked couple of days ago and they reacted "no one would even care, they would simply look at you and laugh it off. Igbos are too busy to engage in petty issues".

I couldn't believe what I read! I mean, these same guys that we see act the way they do here?? Remember what they did one Adaure4eva here when she dared criticise Kanu's methods??

They are just a bunch of emotional wrecks and nothing else.

OP you have spoken well. There's no point arguing with people bent on misunderstanding you.

Shut up!
At time you write like someone who has just been saved from drowning..
Go back to all those 'you mentioned' condemning the unwarranted arrest and illegal detention if you could see any of them that called out Monster Buhari especially..
It's his administration regime that is been blamed..
The way you hated Jonathan for whatever reason you were washed with and directly blamed him for everything that happened during his administration, that 's exactly what your god and saviour is gonna get until he knacks himself out and die miserably...

See why I say I don't argue with them. .....their level of intelligence is appalling
Always thinking upside down.
