When the North and the current President were backing Boko Haram were the North attacked or Boko Haram? Limit the attack on militants and leave the innocent people out of it.
If you want to be taken serious tell your people to stop their attacks & the govt withdraws .Don't teach govt what to do.

So if some unknow people in your neighbourhood comit some crime which you know nothing about except that the crime happened in your community, then the law enforcement come and arrest you and your family along with other innocent neighbours just for the sake that you live in the area where the crime was committed, will that be fare?

This is the common scenario/approach the Nigerian police use in the name of investigation/fighting crime. For the police, all the innocent people arrested will be made to pay to bail themselves after the real culprits had gone scot-free. Is this a fare treatment that should be encouraged?

It is easier to say these things when you are not the victim
So what effort have you made to stop them if you are not supportive? Your people openly claim to be against it but are supportive underneath .

Nonsense. The Ijaw support for militancy and economic terrorists invited the military operations and they should learn to live with the discomfort for as long as they continue hailing acts of terror and economic sabotage.

This is just the beginning, nobody told the North Easterners before they formed civilian JTF to fish out the terrorists amongst them and cooperate with the military to minimise collateral damage.

True!! sad

It keeps surprising me that some people will always conclude that you must be affected or your own people are affected before you speak out against injustice to others. I'm not an Ijaw person. I simply speak against this because it's unfair.

However I've seen threads on Nairaland that talks about efforts of the Ijaws led by Pa Edwin Clarke to restore peace which so far has gotten the nod of the NDA who have unofficially stopped vandalism. I wonder how you will feel to have been among those wrongly accussed by the Nigerian Army for being members of Boko Haram and were locked up for years (likely with torture, poor living conditions and starvation), then later released with a token for N3,000. Those are humans like you and I who had their useful lives wasted by the Nigerian army for no good reason except for the unfortunate situation of living in a Boko Haram ravaged environment. They suffered the attacks and losses of Boko Haram and the Nigerian Army that should have been their saviours turn out to punish them (the victims of Boko Haram) for something they knew nothing about. Even when some of the Northerners initially showed even greater support and even openly jubiliated after the initial attacks by Boko Haram, it doesn't make them deserve the treatment metted out on them except they were caught sabotaging the efforts of the Military. Such would not have been released by the Army like these ones were. So I believe they were innocent people arrested by such sentiments as yours. Too bad. Pray you don't get to fall victim of such too.

Oga, fling sentiments into the sea.

It is on record, in the Boko Haram era which is still ongoing, civilians actively supported and still support the Nigerian military forces. Last month there was a report of a bank worker who resigned to actively fight against Boko Haram. What have the residents of the creeks in which these creel militants done to support Nigeria in bringing an end to their vandalism and sabotage?

In Arepo, and other communities in Lagos and Ogun states, landlords and residents formed an ad-hoc security unit, together with OPC to protect their lands from local terrorists. Some of these men have been killed defending their lands from criminals like their Civilian JTF counterparts up north.

Oga, what have those in the Niger Delta done to stop these criminals in their midst? Are they ghosts that nobody knows there whereabouts or how they congregate? Do the NDA and sundry ND militants not get mad love on the internet? Go to facebook, blogs, twitter, even nairaland and see how much of a role model they are to their kinsmen. And you have the gall to come and play the victim? You lay with dogs, you get up with fleas. Tell your people to repel the insects among them before the entire region is fumigated.
