1. I asked you to lay out the benefits that puts PIB ahead of hundreds of thousands of jobs, self sufficiency, in furl, gas petroleum products, petrochemicals for our factories and industries, but you instead came up with the same lame empty PIB nonsense.

2. It is very foolish, irresponsible and total abdication of responsibilities to set aside and deny ourselves the benefits explained above until we resolve years of unending and stalled PIB policy that has nothing to do with private investments needed to eradicate our immediate problems in less than 2 years.

3. It is also very idiotic, stupid and imprudent to tell investors not to invest and create jobs in our country because some thoughtless ipob on NL think we should not do so till we pass some PIB nonsense.

I hope you are not the smartest joker in your village because if so, your village is in trouble..
Okay it's confirmed . You're irredemable.

The benefits include : not having to spend a dime of our forex which is scarce, and guaranteeing more than one refinery setting up shop here, which means more jobs, competition and more tax revenue in future.

I'm sure you're still wondering how. Anyways wallow in your retrogression.

Fascism approved by comment section. Dangote is the insider. Government bending over backwards to enrich him instead of making it easier for regular nigerians to invest and start companies. It's a polarized issue even in USA. Lots of people here despise the big banks that received bail out to save economy.

We should not build the largest single refinery in the world till Saraki passes PIB

We should not build the largest fertilizer plant in Sub Africa till Saraki passes PIB

We should not build the largest Gas plant in Africa till Saraki passes PIB

We should not build the largest Petrochemical plant in Africa till Saraki passes PIB

We should not build 1000km sub sea pipeline till Saraki pass PIB

We should not create hundreds of thousands of jobs till Saraki pass PIB

See how dumb, backward thinking and retardded these Igbos are?

Don't be silly.

Dangote Refinery will not 'nearly solve all' Nigeria’s problems.

That is the same way you people said Buhari will solve all your problems.

Your must have a very shallow understanding of what constitute Nigeria’s problems. And this speaks to how your mind runs really. After burning all your ten fingers through unrealistic expectations from Buhari's 'omnipotence', it appears you have not learn anything.

Unfortunately 2019 will soon arrive and your assumptions will again be shredded when reality stares you in the face.
Stop wasting your precious time on them they are all programmed not to learn.

Let us reason objectively before making comments on national issues. If dangote is not given forex, how do you expect him to complete his refinery project?; this same refinery, when completed, has the capacity to conserve 40% of our forex and even earn us foreign income from our oil producing neighbours like Chad who don't have refineries!,with this refinery,we are capable of becoming a net exporter of petroleum products.
Considering that he is also constructing a deep-sea underwater pipeline that has the capacity to singlehandedly assist us in transporting gas across the south of Nigeria and solve a huge part of our power problem,I will say that he deserves all the forex he can get.

brof use ur brain. is dangote d only person building a refinery? am sure you know anambra is too, Lagos and Even few Igbo business men as well. think abt what innoson motors is doing abt substituting home-made vehicles for imported ones. The justification for this action is just one word "FAVOURITISM". Not just dangote only but we have induatrialists and masters of industries whose businesses requires forex. Am not against him getting forex but if the same treatment and shock absorbing process is not availed the other struggling or outrightly dying business, then it is a pure case of CONSPIRACY & NEPOTISM. Do you know what 10% means? except dangote is building 500 refineries at the same time, he doesnt require even 3%.
all i see is a govt deliberately shielding one man from the effects of their bad and backward policies just to see all other business owners roast in it. It is called ANIHILATION.

Again,we have failed to avail ourselves with common sense.
Dangote is building a refinery and petrochemical fertilizer plant along with a deep sea pipeline, all worth over $10 billion, how much is Nigeria's total forex year in year out?,let us imagine that Nigeria earn $80 billion in dollar this year, and we exchange 10% of it on dangote refinery,is that amount even still enough to fund the project?,you think 10% of our paltry forex means all the hard currency in the US federal reserve?
The US is the biggest economy in the world, yet its economy is ruled by capitalist business empires like wallstreet,GE,Apple,Google,Jpmorgan and co; in a capitalist system like Nigeria, the economy will always be tilted in favour of the big enterprises, that is how capitalist systems work all over the planet.

bros, you can hug ur narrow narrative like ur pillow as u like. but for me here's my point:
1. Dangote is a big businesa but not as big as 20% of all other business in Nigeria.
2. He's business a deep sea port but so also are other four companies.
3. He's building a refinery but so also are 6 other companies
4. If a million business men rely on a "palstry", forex like u put it, what is the justification that just one man have access to a whopping 10% of that?
5. If FG feel d need to protect businesses in the face of its obselete Policies, it should be across board.
6. If dangote is the next biggest employer of labour after govt and agriculture, please what is the total number of people he employs in a population of 180million that govt is not willing to protect other businesses but dangote that doesnt employ up to 1% of Nigerian population?
7. Lagos is the earth of business in Nigeria and dangote's presence in Lagos is less than 2%, what happen to all other businesses that keep Nigeria liquidity firm?
.....................a narrow mindset is a disease.

The problem isn't a narrow mindset,it is failure to reason with civilized faculty,if any is present at all.
Dangote does not employ 1% of Nigerians, but it is the highest local employer of both direct and indirect labour in Nigeria, should we wait until we find a company that employs 50% of Nigerians before we support its goal of building a national asset?,please name any other local refinery that is being built(with proof of its construction) and their proposed capacity.
Over 50% of other big businesses in Nigeria's are import based, should we share out our limited forex to importers in special tranches?
Eko Atlantic is relying on forex from the CBN,should we deny Chaugary group forex needed to build the landmark project simply because it does not employ 1% of Nigerians,or it is not the only city developer in Nigeria,or because other developers should have equal right?.Please let's make use of our IQ or borrow one if lacking.
How many businesses in Nigeria need as much forex as the ongoing refinery?,its not as if the man is eating it,he is using it to build the biggest refinery in the world!
The reason why dangote needs special forex in the first place is because of the enormity of funds the project is consuming, other businesses are also receiving forex, but in a more normal way, after all,the CBN cannot eat the 90% forex left,it has to spend it.
Please let's reason more like human beings than bugs.

explain to that clown that monopolies go against the principles of privatisation and capitalism. Explain to that hard nutted brain, that 10percent of our forex to one enterpreneur while every other is starved is bias and will not ensure lots of employment as compared to when a viable enviroment is created and loads of fdis come in. I'd rather we have 25 refineries, than one super mega refinery.

I don't care if he is a northerner,so far this project brings about massive local refining of oil and a resultant enormous employment opportunity, then I support it.
Do you know how mucmuch forex Eko Atlantic and Abuja centenary cities consume?,should we then stop constructing both monumental projects?
I don't know how some people reason.

Just listen to the trash you posted. You are putting your local refinery hope on him since Dangote is the only man that can bring about such development.

A $100 million dollar incentive by the govt. is enough to stimulate the SMEs sector to bring about the much needed vibrancy into the economy in this trying times instead of believing that a single Refinery is the key to solving our peculiar challenges. Dangote will just price fix his stuff and there is absolutely nothing you can do to counter that due to monopoly.

How are we sure he didn't use some of the same slush funds to make more billions in the parallel market while other multiple business were folding up leading to several thousands of job losses.

By the time Dangote launches his refinery in a few years, we will be having millions who have lost their jobs and probably died due to hunger and frustration simply because the Govt. felt only an individual is worth such an humongous incentive.

From his post, you can clearly see his bias towards the SW. If this project was sited elsewhere, i seriously doubt he will be sounding as silly as this.

No one is against a Dangote bringing a much needed local refinery, but allocating a whooping 10% to one man while we have thousands of businesses folding up leaving a wake of frustrated and hungry Nigerians in their path is plain idiocy.

No wonder Sanusi said he can just be in his bedroom and be making billions of naira via forex and yet some ediots want us to support this nonsense.

Petty sentiments will get Nigeria nowhere; this is a man who has decided to invest $10 billion on building the largest refinery in the world in a country that does not have a deregulated downstream oil sector,in a country that has failed to pass the monumental PIB for over a decade.
What other hope of local refining do we have?; once dangote gets his refinery working,it would definitely attract other investors to do the same(including those that have already been awarded license),then competition begins and fuel price get moderated.
You are accusing him of selling out dollars to the parallel market(a claim which you are unable to prove); but if he does that, how do you think he will complete his project?,do you imagine that the CBN does not monitor the flow of dollars within banks and BDCs?.Moreover, only a selected number of BDCs are licensed by the CBN to sell dollars,so how will they escape monitoring?
You people scream monopoly; is it his fault that many of our business men fail to explore business opportunities in Nigeria, instead the prefer to do "clearing and forwarding" importation. There is scarcity of tomato, cocoa, cotton and other commercial produts ,why can't our business men seize the opportunity to start producing these things en masse?,tomorrow if dangote decides to do it,they scream monopoly.

1. Dangote is not building only a refinery, he's building the single largest refinery in the world to totally eradicate our fuel problems and export more for forex. This is more than enough reason to give him 10%

2. Dangote is not building only a refinery, he's building the largest fertilizer plant in Africa to to totally eradicate our fertilizer problems export more for forex. This is more than enough reason to give him 10%

3. Dangote is not building only a refinery, he's building the largest petrochemical plant in Africa to totally eradicate our petrochemical problems and export more for forex. This is more than enough reason to give him 10%

4. Dangote is not building only a refinery, he's building the largest Gas plant in Africa to totally eradicate our Gas and electricity problems and export more for forex. This is more than enough reason to give him 10%

5. Dangote is not building only a refinery, he's building the only sub sea pipeline 1000 kl to totally eradicate our fuel problems and export more for forex. This is more than enough reason to give him 10%

So, there are more than 1 projects and these projects are so groundbreaking that they totally addressed nearly everything we need to advance and develop as a nation.

It takes care or our fertilizer and farming problems for good

It takes care of our Gas and electricity problems

Nearly all our industries and factories imports petrochemicals, this takes care of all that and stops all importation of petrochemical products

It totally eradicate fuel problems and even no more fuel importation

The sub sea pipelines means huge jobs

All in all, we are talking about more than 1 critical and national interest project, these are multiple projects that you'd prob' spend more on if addressed individually..

How many projects in Nigeria or even proposed projects in Nigeria can addressed these huge National issues?

How many of them can create hundreds of thousands of jobs in the process that you know of that the government denied forex to function? Zero.

For you to conclude that this is one sided, you first have to state to us categorically and even list the companies that applied for forex to build such critical infrastructures that were denied and turned back by the FG because of the 10% given to Dangote.

All you anti unpatriotic and anti Nigerian elements are doing is blowing stale and rancid smoke, you care less about Nigeria and her interests, all you care about is her downfall and your silly and pathetic ipob.

Are you minding them?

Doubt even if they know the meaning of monopoly..

revolt:
but it wasn't big bank, it was big BANKS, so there was room for competition.

monopolies are like our civil service, they will exploit us while rendering poor services.

True point is they took all of our money to bailout private companies for their mistakes. I didn't make point about it being monopoly. They keep profits and we subsidize losses.

Buhari approves 65 licences for private refineries

To woo investors to the project, DPR also reduced the licensing fee for new refineries from $1 million to $50,000.

By Clara Nwachukwu

President Muhammadu Buhari has granted licences to 65 Nigerian companies to construct modular refineries.

The companies were selected from about 285 applications that were screened for the purpose.

Modular refineries are mini-refineries with capacities ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 barrels per day, bpd, which can be assembled and separated easily for enhanced performance and efficiency.

The decision to award Licence to Establish, LTE, which was taken within 10 days of his assuming office in June, may not be unconnected with his desire to see the increase in domestic refining capacity to meet local demand, thereby reducing huge import bills for subsidy.

Although the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, the industry regulator, feigned ignorance of the development, one of the beneficiary companies confirmed to Vanguard that the measure is also meant to cushion the impact of crashing oil prices at the international market.

The shock is not only in the period the approvals were given, but also in the numbers granted considering the fact that 18 LTEs were granted in 2002, but only one of them had come on stream with just 1,000 barrels per day, bpd, capacity.

PMB gave out more refinery licence than any government and he did so in less than 10 days and even reduced the fee..

Obviously, the FG gave the same opportunity to other companies so if for whatever reason they are not showing any seriousness to build and utilize their permits, whose fault is that? Dangote or the FG?

Kachikwu: FG to Revoke Unused Refinery Licences

About 25 licences that were given to private operators between 2002 and 2014 to build refinery complexes in Nigeria will be revewed at again and those that have remained inactive will be revoked, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has said.

Kachikwu said last week when he hosted a group of online news outlets in Abuja that as part of its ongoing efforts to sanitise Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector, the government was going on to review the status of the refinery licences.

He noted that those who had crossed certain acceptable operational thresholds would be allowed to go on with their works while those who haven’t would be cancelled.

“The next stage of this is that we are going to look at all the licences that have been given out; some of them were given a window within which to build their refineries and we are going to revoke the ones that were not used,” said Kachikwu in response to a question on the status of the licenses.

See, licences were given out, but they won't build or utilize the licences so where is the monopoly when others were give the same opportunity but still won't do anything?

God Bless Dangote x 1000000000000000000000

I hope they give him another 20% or even 50% to do way way more....

Reminds me of many unpatriotic elements rushing to other west african countries to build refineries instead of their own country just to dupe and milk us for money..

Many of them can not even invest or build any refinery in Nigeria because they are too afraid to openly invest and spend any money because it's stolen taxpayers money...
