Please before you go sentimental on the new law, answe these questions.
1.Does the law ban the herdsmen from doing their business or does it demand them to get a business place for themselves (ranch) just as other Nigerians.Eg Banks,Schools,Cyber cafe etc.
2.In developed climes where we copy most of our policies from,do we have cattles roaming the streets?
3.Does the law ban the movement of herdsmen or the movement of cattle?

1. The Law does not require any of them to get a ranch. The law simply regulates the herding times and designates grazing zones.

2. No we don't. That is why I am opposed to the grazing reserves bill.. Every cattle owner should raise their cattle on a farm. Farmers should farm grasses and sell to Cattle rearers to feed their cattle with.

3. Refer to answer number 1.

You guys need to understand that he is not banning the movement of herdsmen, but any herdsman, caught with any form of weapons while grazing his cattle in any part of the state, would be arrested and charged with terrorism.
Let us get it right

Please show where the constitution gives UNFETTERED access to ANY part of the country.

Chapter and verse please.
Also what is the basis for it " can only be stopped by FEDERAL legislation" Where do you get that from?

How is it different from legislation banning okadas in Lagos which by the way was unsuccessfully challenged. Do not okada riders have unfettered access?
You're really d gullible type.....is d constitution a bible....gain access to knowledge before u start spilling bullshit.....it is divided into sections and subsections tongue

if he starts arresting defaulters immediately it is the same people here that will be shouting on top of their voices, there is what we call grace period, they have the time to look for a good location to restrain their cows, so that nobody will have the excuse that they didn't have enough time to get a place, by the time one or two herdsman is used as a scape goat I am sure even in their illiteracy they will realize that it is not business as usual.

What is good for goose should also be good for gander.
States can make laws they deem fit and ekiti grazing bill did not in anyway contravene constitution.
All northern state banned sale of alcohol in the name of sharia, state laws.....
Some state banned use of motorcycle for transportation, state laws...
So movement of cow is now banned unless by trucking that's state law and it holds.
Call ekiti man all sort of names, it is within his right to make laws he deem fit for good governance of his state.
All southern state should follow suit. In all our village down south such laws against free roaming of animals had been in existance even before I was born. why is it wrong for strangers to obey it?

In my opinion, Fayose was wrong to enact such laws in the first place. The fulanis have the right to live and work in ekiti just like every other Nigerian. Why ban their business of cattle rearing when they have no other means? Why criminalize the fulanis as if all fulanis are killers? There are bad eggs amongst every tribe, why do we make it look like violence is exclusive to northerners only. The people we should frown at are cattle rustlers who steals cattle from fulanis and use them as disguise for their evil deeds. The fulanis are peaceful people who go about their business in peace and we all know they control their herds of cattle with mere sticks. Even though we call them primitive, how many southerner can rear cattle for national consumption like the fulanis? Without them how do we see beef to consume? The rustlers are armed terrorist escaping from the north east to the south. What fayose should have done is to forbid any herdsmen from moving around with weapons, not banning cattle rearing completely. If all states cooperated with the FG on creation of grazing reserves throughout the country, there will not be a single cattle left on the streets looking for grass. Instead we chastised president Buhari's brilliant policy in the name of islamization. The ripple effects are the incessant attacks by the rustlers. The grazing bill remains the best and safest option. Not unnecessary bans sad

Fayose is all fluff no stuff, he grandstands even with no legal leg to stand on... Even if someone does , the constitution of Nigeria trumps any state law which he is only pushing to bait the Fulani man in power & Fayose knows it but is banking on the fact that majority of his followers are not very intelligent so won't delve deep.

The constitution gives EVERYONE unfettered access to any part of the country, it's not right but it's the LAW..

I personally detest the unwholesome, unsanitary and unprogressive mode of wakaing with maalu, but i know it can only be stopped by federal legislation....

The ban prohibits cattle movement, not fulanis movement.

For the sake of the illiterates and putting straight issues, there is limitations to freedom of movement. That is why trespassing is an offense. You cannot come to my farmland , damage my crops and you are claiming freedom of movement. Each Right has a limitation.

is there a constitution and what do you think anarchy is?
If the fulani man things he is supreme instead of the scham Nigerians call constitution to be then that means every one who can stand boldly is also supreme! Wait till you head is on the floor when you see an aggressive and haunted madmad pass you before you react.

Abooki go and rest with your senseless epistle.

Where did Fayose ban fulanis? He merely wants cows to graze in approved areas and not people's farms. The same way fulanis depend on cows is the same way farmers depend on their crops. Why should fulani destroy other people's livelihood just to rear cows

Thank you. Help ask him germaine questions. If as a Nigerian I have unfettered access to anywhere in Nigeria, does it mean I can do any business anywhere? I can be anywhere is different from doing any business anywhere. Why is it that o can open a beer parlor in Lagos but would not be allowed same freedom in Sokoto or Zamfara? At least beer is a licit substance, a legit business just like the cattle rearing. If those northern states can enact laws restricting my business freedom in their domain, nothing should stop Fayose from replicating same with aim of protecting his people in his domain. Qed
THANK JAH 4 ur insight into the mata...make beta sense..
