i doubt dis info, here in akwa ibom Etinan is very far from being the wealthiest dat puts a big comma on others. This analysis lacks concrete facts. The most richest LGAs might be undeveloped apart from dos in Lag.

If you visit Etinan LGA with enormous oil wells you will weep, yet the place is peaceful
Na so una de always talk. I once stayed in Ogu/Bolo LGA of Rivers States and I was amazed at the level of development there. Free light, community recreation centre, stadium, roads all tared, and all. And yet dey complain of suffering. Visit an average northern LGA and you will weep for them. I have been to most many LGAs in Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Kano, Adamawa Etc. U can't compare them with those of the oil states at all. You guys seriously think you are suffering? Visit Taraba and see for urself.

impact on the ratings, we can observe the list of the
wealthiest areas. It contains:

These list is pure fake in akwa ibom out of 31 LGA, in terms of rating etinan cannot even fall under 20, why not mention , EKET , ibeno Ikot ekpene, oron that maritime academy is situated !

4. Esan Central. Located in Edo state, it’s
composed by several towns and cities. Its major
sector is agriculture. However, people of this
land are also engaged into industry. There are
lots of hotels, factories, and hospitals there.
i rep Esan central, proud of my local govt

Whr is apapa (gateway to economy), Bonny in Rivers. Dis ur list na sumtin else
slim75d:
5. Etinan. This area belongs to Akwa Ibom State. It
is thought to be the richest in oil production.
It’s famous for crafting and agriculture as well.
Besides, it’s the most peaceful territory in the
Western Nigeria.
These are the richest and most prosperous regions of
the country. There used to be more of them,
however, particular factors, like Civil War, have
affected them.
Now you know a bit more about the politics in
Nigeria and the principles of country division. There
are many LGAs in this state. They are not equally
developed. There exist those, which are wealthier
than the others are. It is caused by various factors.
Natural resources are one of the key reasons.

Ohio akpor deserves to be on top. Number one.
In fact if there's a number higher than one. I recommend it for them.
The way they disturb shall shop owners, road side sellers and SME's in PortHarcourt eh. If you no pay ObioAkpor every month, e go reach 10k. Per person.

They keep shutting down small business in the name of let's, duties, tax, bla bla bla. The gravity of the properties they have seized eh, e reach to use relocate go stay for empty land far away, create new state.

Those guys aren't just tax collectors or government officials for the local government. Hey are high end theives. In fact na politicians and rouges full those ObioAkpor officials.

Note: don't reply me RUBBISH if you haven't stayed IN PortHarcourt before.

This information is not true. There is no single oil well in Etinan LGA of Akwa Ibom State. Moreover Akwa Ibom is in the southern Nigeria not west.
3. Kurmi . It’s situated in the State of Taraba. It is
famous for the richness of resources. The soil
of the land is very fertile, which gives lots of
opportunities to the agricultural sector. They
grow various plants, such as rice, bananas,
oranges, cocoas, and so on. As you may
suppose, the majority of people there are
farmers and their produce the greatest part of
crops for consumption in the whole country. All
the rest are exported i, which gives extra money
to the area.[/quote Bonny island in rivers is 3 not this local gov mentioned here

is Ewu not from Esan central? Are you sure you know your village ? Ewu have hotels,Monestary school, herbal pharmacy that bring people from delta, a big bible institute,Ewu flour mill is coming back. Yes Uromi has small factories, many banks and know for so many hotels because its a transit town to delta and other places and Its also an Esan commercial town etc. So what are you talking about? Let not forget Irrua specialist federal hospital.

That list is damn not correct.
1. Obiakpor (houses many oil companies regional offices)
2. Apapa (home to the two biggest ports in the country)
3. Ikeja (home to many hotels, banks, industrial estates)
4. Eti-Osa(home to many bank, insurance, oil companies H/Q)
5. Kano Central Municipal(by virtue of population and allocation)
Re: Richest Local Governments In Nigeria by tuk2ato(m): 10:54am On Sep 12, 2016
Very wrong, the two richest lgas are Obio Akpo and Eti Osa in that order.
Re: Richest Local Governments In Nigeria by Rekeb: 10:55am On Sep 12, 2016
slim75d:
1. Obio Akpor. It is the most prosperous Local
Government Area. It is situated in the River
State (Port Harcourt metropolis). It is one of the
leading economic centers of the whole country.
Besides, this is a major city of Niger Delta.
Its total area is more than 250 sq. km, while the
population approaches to 880,000. It is divided
into seventeen wards. Among the most
widespread natural resources, we can
distinguish natural gas and oil. Agricultural
sector is also quite popular.

Obio Akpor is definitely one of the richest local government in Nigeria in terms of revenue. But it is definitely NOT one of the most prosperous in terms of development and infrastructure. In fact it puzzles me why the residents dont ask more of the local government chairmen and the politicians to provide meaningful development with the vast resources at their disposal. This LG has the potential to be one of the most prosperous like Eti-Osa in Lagos.

Just tell us this is your personal list.. There is nothing in esan central apart from Ewu,Irrua,Opoji.. Which are villages..
I was in the Local gov't headquarters in irrua for 1year so I understand.

Revenue wise they are predominantly farmers, no natural/mineral resources.
very few hotels are in esan central.Only esan west has many.
Only one good hospital in the LGA that is Irrua Specialist hospital.
development wise they're rural ..

Seems you're from there
