All eyes on Cairo. . . . but i sense something quite sensational is going to happen in Maputo, Lome and Fes. |
Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 3:21pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
seems to be a problem with the timing. . . . . the naija game is lagging about 5mins behind the tunisian game - enuf room 4 foul play |
Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 4:29pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
astonishing scenes in Nairobi / Maputo. . . . . Tunisia sorry, you fought gamely, but its not over until its over! after the game in abuja, they thought they'd wrapped it up but see how it turns out now. . . . once again, the big winner is african football and kudos to caf - the excitement and tension is a joy to all football fans anywhere! |
Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 4:32pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
the tunisians have only themselves to blame. . . . they came and sat back and only began to attack when they heard nigeria was leading. . . . ironically, it was a sucker punch that did them in; the same tactic they'd wanted to adopt against the mozambique now turned against them - pity! |
Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 4:45pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
15 mins in & no drama yet in Lome or Fes. . . . |

Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 5:09pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
past 30mins now its scoreless in Lome - while Cameroon still lead by a lone goal. . . . guess gabon's away from will be their undoing in this one; except something sensational happens - cameroon have not lost in their last 8 games with morocco and its unlikely that run will end here cuz they are swarming all over the north africans. |
Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 5:18pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
Things are not looking good for the gabonese. . . . forced change shortly before 1/2 time. Daniel Cousin is substituted. |
Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 5:22pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
still wondering why almost 10mins was played as extra time in the mozambique vs tunisia game; and the kenya vs nigeria game started 5mins later than the other game. . . . . shades of hanky-panky |
Re: 2010 World Cup Qualifiers - Africa by RuuDie(m): 5:23pm On Nov 14, 2009 |
1/2 time . . . . and the indomitable lions have one foot in SA'10 - the onus is now on the gabonese; with a bit of help from morocco and togo! |

And the CIV have laid down the marker for the rest of Africa - its 3-0 and its a classic 3rd from a free-kick for the CIV. The indomitable lions are thru courtesy of a convincing 2-0 win over Morocco in Fes; gabon, poor on the road losing to Togo who qualify for the AFCON in Angola. |
