chillingbabe: Don't be ridiculous, you should dress decently, but not overbearingly. Why should they even say anything about his outfit since it is formal, clean and properly ironed. They expect people to wear suit in this scorching heat because they are what?? I can understand wearing suit in cooler climes like overseas, but not in naija's scorching hot weather! 4 Likes |

Some shirts are meant to have that laid back look. It's the style which is more of a casual look, not formal. Sharper, brighter shirts are better for the work place. You should start loving suits, even if its just a blazer jacket you can manage cos its necessary to look really sharp especially for an interview. As for trads, over here on ABJ, it's taken for formal office wears but it still depends on the company you are working for. Just stick with a suit for now sha, you cant go wrong with that. 1 Like |

YerYer:Don't be pathetic, how do you know if his shirt was clean and properly ironed? The interviewers are not blind, they can't say that to him or try to embarrass him if he looked good. They could have seen some faults in the shirt, maybe some stains and it wasn't properly ironed. Interviewers hardly comment on someone's outfit(talking from experience ).. so whether the sun is blazing hot or it's raining cats and dogs, "A SUIT" remains the best outfit for an interview. |

This Op na funny man. Mine is that I don't hate suit, and I have not had one before. I went for an interview where I was the only guy wearing a shirt. Chai, I wanted to give up. The guys all looked sweet, and I admired so much how good looking they all were on suit. I said to my inner being, " Suit , won't hand you this job. God will hand me this job." Fast forward to today, I will start my training soonest. He(Jesus) that is in me is greater than HRM and suits. 4 Likes |

Cutehector: You are probably not conversant with global best practices. All over the world, certain job positions, especially managerial posts, requires a great deal of anger management, stress management and emotional control. So, sound HR experts will intentionally say certain annoying and embarrassing things to upset you, so they can access your level of resilience and emotional strength. It's possible this candidate was gorgeously dressed and perhaps in the best fabrics. This type of Interview is called "STRESS INTERVIEW". You can read up "Types of Interview" for managerial positions. 2 Likes |

chillingbabe: You are the one being pathetic. Most of these interviewers and recruiters act like they are demi gods of sorts. They know the situation in Nigeria is pretty bad and they take advantage of workers and job seekers alike. The guy just said he received the long sleeve shirt from abroad, in other words, he's indicating that his shirt if of high quality. He wouldn't be disheveled or unkempt and still come online to talk about his disgust with the interviewer, that would be madness. |

Infact we started gisting politics and the industry.. Then came Salary. Na so I tell them say make dem offer me something.. They said No, you tell us what you will like. Na so I open mouth hala 1 million/month. I watched their faces for a reaction, nobody shake. For my mind, I say THANK YOU BABA.. The Lead interviewer just wrote something on her note and said I should send them my last 3 pay slips from my previous job.. I just whipped out my phone and sharply forwarded the thing. Fast Forward to like 2 - 3 weeks later. Na so I see email one beautiful morning as I wake, these murra's offer me 120'k/month.. I rush go pour ice water for my head incase na dream I dey. chillingbabe: This type of Interview is mostly conducted for managerial positions and it's called "STRESS TEST OR STRESS INTERVIEW. It's the job of some panellists to intentionally throw you off balance and deliberately provoke you. This is the best test for candidates seeking to occupy management positions where subordinate of different background and characters are to report directly to them. It's a general application in Human Resources and not peculiar to Nigeria. |

Okijajuju1:why you were offered that much was because you had evidence of being paid...where I work, when the wanted automation engineers the external guys hear big company some they call 650k...I just dey observe when hr tell them to bring pay slip some brought 100k...omo na 85k I hear say company plan to pay them...naija is bleeped up |

Okijajuju1: This guy!!! I was reading the comment with a bit of grin on my face, then I decided to check the moniker. Oxford men shoe cost N16K least, very good pair of suit cost N60K least, good shirt eg Hawes&Curtis cost N15K, u can get it for N10K if u knw where to look. That's almost N100K bros, how many job seekers get that kind cash for one outfit? About the jump up trouser, I don't like my trousers too long, I like it standing exactly at the top of my shoes, so when I take a walk u notice my socks. Very nice socks, am sitted in the pics below, so the trouser is a bit higher than it is. 2 Likes
