Obasanjo Blames Recession On Jonathan (dailytrust) by ManirBK: 6:36am On Sep 28, 2016
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday took a swipe at the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, declaring that his advice on the prevailing economic crisis was ignored two years ago.
Obasanjo also blamed Jonathan for lifting the ban on importation of products like toothpick, which he said could have been taken over by local industries without encumbrances.
At the official opening of the National Council on Finance and Economic Development (NACOFED) in Abeokuta yesterday, Obasanjo said the only way Nigeria could urgently step out of the current economic recession is for it to seek foreign loan.
Obasanjo, who was the Father of the Day at the opening session, said he had warned the former President on the impending recession in November 26, 2014 When he joined others to celebrate the birthday of retired Justice Akanbi.

Jonathan was a huge disappointment to this country he preferred sharing to preparing for the future. .. short sighted self gains took our economy through the dark path

I only stated that in respect to u stating u were betrayed. What is much worse than tinubu's betrayal. And in the game of politics no govt I repeat no govt would take any region serious if such betrayal comes from the same people the govt is trying to give a sense of representation.

But u complained about not being represented in gej's govt now u are saying it would only enrich few people. Smh.

Lets assume that he truly marginalised the south west, is that why should unjustly and libellously base the woes of Nigeria on him? Doing so makes you pay “evil with evil” which is against biblical ethical standards(if you are a christian).

Here is Obasanjo claiming GEJ is the because of recession because they both had a rift. And the silly reason he gave was that GEJ lifted the ban on toothpick, how can that be potent enough to cause recession, or does he even know what recession means??

We all know that GEJ did well, and if he remained in power Nigeria would have been better than this. Buhari is still remains the undeniable cause of recession.

You keep depicting trash everywhere. No govt is aim at enriching few individual. Jonathan made good economic policies and programmes that affected both both the rich and the poor. They all benefited from jonathan's govt. was it only the rich that bordered the rail ways?? was it only the rich that plied the roads?? was it only the rich that benefited from the stable 1$=200#? was it only the rich that benefited from the low inflation rate? bags of rice at #8,000?

Zombies, stop feigning ignorance. You can't erase the good works of Jonathan.

Very silly. here are the words of your vice president, signifying that activities of the NDA are Solely responsible for recession.
“If we did not have vandalism in the Niger Delta as we are currently suffering, we will not have this recession today
so are you saying he is wrong, goofy and intellectually inept to have based the sole cause of the recession on the belligerency of the NDA??

The vp saying that does not exonerate Jonathan. NDA only made it worse. Was there NDA when NOI warned against recession in the past..
