First thing is Respect your older cell mate not minding age or experience.
Obey the prison laws.
Mind people you tell your story to.
Don't be scared of anybody.
If possible avoid prison food .
Think more of what is happening inside than outside to avoid being frustrated .
Neva stop praying with faith.
Make use of your quiet time to reflect.

2010 a judge ordered that I be sent to prison if I couldn't meet the bail conditions, I made bail within 30mins even though the conditions were strict, out arrest stemmed from my friend fighting a top FRSC official he promised to deal with all of us, we spent 4 days in various cells with hardened criminals so I can relate.

Go with cash to buy a bed space where the big boyz stay else u will be packed up with the multitude who would start by giving you a welcome beating, u become a maid, empty shit bucket and wash...

Once u re boxed up, align with a guard, who would help you with ur foodstuffs from time to time so that u can cook ur own food.

Get someone on the outside to grease the palms of one of the Prison officials on a regular basis. That person will look out for you. Nobody gives a crap about the prisoners. It helps to have somebody on your side if something good happens e.g mass pardon from governor, food e.t.c
Knowing who to grease is not easy. Somebody too low will not be very helpful and getting somebody very is near impossible.

Just ask Rev King. He lived like a king even though he was on a death row. Nice pad, regular meals e.t.c

my was police cell.
was going for tutorial in preparation for my SCHOOL CERT. it was an environmental clean up day, and suddenly was bundled inside a prison truck.

taking to one "kangaroo" court we were pronounced guilty by one "igbo" smoking magistrate.
was thrown inside cell despite been under age.
but it turns out to be the most memorable experience of my life, positively and negatively... for three days I couldn't see the sky or anything light, the place was so dark I couldn't differentiate between night and day.

the prison "presido" (agbero) was very nice to me though, but I had to do endless "Toshiba" that is fanning with your shirt.

was eventually released after three days and three nights.

1.it made me appreciate God more every time I see another break of dawn, knowing some people can't.
2.it has given me a passion for prison volunteer course knowing fully well that many people are languishing in cells and prison like I did without a course.

my advice, JUST BE LOYAL!
