Who says DsS don't have evidences? That they don't want to give to NJC does not mean they don't have the evidences. Wait till they're arraigned in court to see evidence.

And it's childish and naive to think there are no credible upright judges to bring those corrupt judges to justice. Some upright judges will even fight to preside over those corrupt judges'cases.
if they wont present their imaginary evidences to the NJC,They should stop asking them to suspend the judges.BTW,it is the CJN,Presidents of the court of appeal, state CJs and chief judge of the FHC that will assign the cases to Judges and not Buhari or the DSS.If you are hoping on corrupt Okon Abang to do the dirty work for you you are on a very long thing

This is what will happen should NJC refuse to suspend those judges.

1. The judges will be arraigned in court irrespective of no suspension. No law says they can't be arranged.

2. The Judiciary will be further rubbished and lose further credibility in the eyes of Nigerians.

3. Nigerians will pressure the CJN/NJC to suspend those judges to at least bring some credibility back to the bench.

Let me add that the CJN will also exit ignobly

Let me say NJC is fascinatingly fantastically corrupt.
They are hell-bent to shield their corrupt colleagues from prosecution, or give them soft landing.

The government should not shift ground. Let them step down, and clear themselves.

Their is only one body that has the power to suspend judges, NJC. It cannot go ahead and do so without presenting evidence as to why he is suspending them, so DSS must present its evidence to NJC. What if after suspending them, the evidences turn out to be hoax? How will you feel if you head NJC? DSS after the operation made Nigerians believe they presented Njc with evidence but it refused to act, forcing them to carry out sting operation. Now NJC has denied that and DSS cannot substantiate its allegation rather it is insisting that the judges step down without evidence, do you believe that is proper? If DSS has lied once, what is the assurance they are not lieing again regarding having evidence? Why did DSS start a unilateral operation it cannot end trying now to armtwist NJC? You started without NJC accusing it of bias, then finish off without NJC now! Why did it not follow law and collaborate with NjC to do the operation? Can there be any underlying motive?
The NjC cannot suspend judges without presenting reasons. The prerogative to step down rest with the judges, they can and they might not. Saraki didn't step down. Amaechi was accused by his state of corruption, he didn't step down and the executive didn't insist he does. The president was accused of not possessing requisite certificate prior to election, he went ahead to contest despite that; since he won he is yet to present his certificate yet he didn't step down and no one is insisting he does. Why should the judges step down now? What is good foe the goodies is good for the ganders they say.
I believe corruption can only be fought in an environment where there is strict adherence to law and due process. Executive and its agents are not doing that, they are simply ridiculing our system, fight a shambolic corruption war. Trying to fight one corruption with another. It won't work. Nigerians are too emotional, always jumping at every sensational news in the name of corruption fight. The only way to rid the country of corruption is to properly define it and let everyone including the executive start the corruption fight with itself by always following due process, else we push the country into chaos and anarchy. Justice is got only on moral principles. He who goes to equity, they say must go with clean hands. Let the executives remove the log in its eyes before trying to remove splinter on other people eyes. Executive itself is corrupt. Defiance of law and laid down regulation is the bedrock, the foundation on which corruption thrives.

i am so relieved that there are still intelligent people here. a thousand likes for this post.

NJC suspends and sanctions judges based on investigated petitions with evidence. On what bases would they be suspending the judges when DSS refuses to give them something to work with.

Secondly, our laws mandates prosecutor to make all his evidences available to the accused before trials.

Lastly, for me, from the government actions so far, it is obvious they wanted these judges out by all means. Even if the matters are filed in court today, they will be abandoned after all, the judges would have been suspended. Mission accomplished.

God bless you

These judges are accused. Evidence against them will be presented in a court of law. They should go to the court to clear their names. But they should step aside for the period they may be in court so that the activities of the office they occupy should not be halted. Simple and fair!!!

There was a reason they are arrested in the first place so it is only proper for them to step down pending the time their trials will be over. Imagine this scenario whete by the case of one of the accused is given to another accused, what happens? Once you are beiing probed aline for corruption, then its only fair they step down. Besides, if they hand over evidence to the njc and it got licked and they keep covering their tracks then who will they convict?

Are you sure? Have you ever seen or heard of any judge called back to continue after suspension? Arent we going to be establishing a modus operandi for the suspension of a judge on mere allegation or frivolous petition. He never irretate reach. Steping outside can only happen in decent governments and not the dangerious lying government of Buhari. Are you saying that any accused should really take the risk to step aside for Buhari Dss to investigate, so that this time around all the world currencies will be found in the accused house? Or you want to send people like Okon Abang to execute th seaech abi? Do you know that the monies found in the house of the Judges included the Indian (Rupes) most worthless money too. Does that not tell you the hurrable nature of Buhari to implicate every opposition? He nor go happen. No normal person will step aside for Buhari's dss to investigate unless that person want to commit suicide. Those monies were simply dropped by the dss to perfect and defend the propaganda of Buhari government. Period.

i dont understand again sef, its just like alleging that a pastor is sleeping with some ladies in the choir group, then we tell them all to bring evidence to the elders council to confirm if its worth investigating, having any form of corrupt act on the judges is a great indictment on any nation.
also, is the njc saying there is no monitoring team of any kind to check on judges activities from time to time except petitions from outsiders that can be thrown out?

Lets put it this way, Someone came to your work place with the police and accused you of defrauding him of 1million naira and your boss ask the police of evidence that indicted you of the fraud, the police says no, that your boss should kick you out of the job, that they are taking you to court for you to proof your innocence, when its actually the duty of the police to show evidence of indictment. how will you feel if this happens to you?

This country must be run through the rule of law else we are all finished.

The Nigerian Constitution empowered National Judicial Council to suspend judges from the position so that they are prosecuted.

You don't suspend a judge based on sentiments and emotions. If the DSS is serious about their claims, they should formally tender the evidence to the Council.

Countries are built on laws not sentiments, hearsay, emotions, and media trials.

We must get it right in this country...DSS should tender the evidence to hasten their prosecution and end this drama.

Am not a lawyer but common sense dictates that if you divulge the charges against these judges to NJC, they will use their expertise to frustrate the case eventually when they are charged to court. Since this matter in on crime, it is better they meet in the court. Again, it appears NJC has been avoiding handling down the appropriate sanctiond against the judges probably because they are colleague or maybe the members of NJC are as also corrupt and the affected judges know it and may probably expose them should the NJC punish them.
My appeal to Nigerian is that we should support PMB to fight this monster call corruption no matter how imperfect his approach may be there is always room for improvement. We shouldn't allow another type of Yar'dua come to deceive with rule of law that will set the James Iboris free only to be convicted by UK!
On Ameachi, if PMB fail to tackle his cabinet members, surely another government will come to PROBE them including PMB. In the long run, NIGERIA will be better-off.

Come and present your evidence against Amaechi in court or any other person who has such evidence should do so. May be you nlack understanding when reading, if you not you should have seen the validity o the reasons given by the DSS on why they would release the evidences till they meet in court.
