Please DrMalik come to my aid.

1. I experience some few minutes of prickly kind of itching after taking bath with cold or luke warm water. It is worst if i use any kind of scrub/sponge. My bath water has to be comfortably hot else i get itchy. The itching bout starts from 1-2min after bath and last up to five minutes. Rubbing cream and wearing cloths, jumping into bed and covering myself with duvet cover seem to help reduce the itching. AC or fan helps too. I guess it stops when my skin starts drying.

I do experience the prickly itching on cold wet days with out even taking a bath and gets worst with a bath or if i use rain water. A skin sample was taken from my back and tested for filariasis but came back negative.

I also get itchy on my torso sometimes when i sweat. This problem has been affecting my 2yr son who pulls off his shirt crying after he takes warm beverage(bornvita) or even normal food or when he sweats from normal play. We will always help him scratch his back for a minute or 2 while he cools down.

2. I have read about irritable bowel syndrome. I think i have it. No week passes without me having an episode of frequent toilet visits sometimes 3 times within a hr. Most times in the morning. It sure will happen when i eat pepperish food the previous day. I am always with flagyl.

How can i treat these problems please.

Vicot, I will be straight with you. I could just go ahead and list dos and donts, but I guess that won't help. You need to know why you even have the pimples in the first place. You need to develop some habits and change others. You need some medications. I can't start listing all these here.

This is how I will help you. Ping me (BBM: 7F559CE8); I will send you a short and simple article I wrote. And, then you can send me pictures of the pimples, and we can talk on phone thereafter. Please all these are FREE!

Alternatively, see a dermatologist physically for professional review and treatment.

Hope this helps.

Adanny, it is not filariasis. It has a strange name, Aquagenic pruritus (if I remember correctly ). Unfortunately, we don't really understand the cause or treatment very well.

Use warm water. Use softer sponge. Dry body immediately and well. Use fan or AC. Use medications like Loratidine, add Prednisolone, and anti-itching cream (It works for some). Distract yourself. Be positive.

2) You can't just make a diagnosis like that! See a doctor physically. He will ask questions, examine you, and run some tests.

Thank you so much.

Forgive me for sounding like i have concluded on a diagnosis with respect to the Irritable bowel syndrome. I was reading on the internet one time when i stumbled on it, i checked the symptoms and i looked just like mine except for one. I mentioned it in an attempt to describe my symptoms.

I have been tested positive for hookworm long ago so i always take a dewarmer minimum of 3months interval.

Okay, Adanny. It is unadvisable to label yourself just from an online list of similar symptoms. See a doctor physically please. You will be grateful you did.

You harsh for this hookworm o! Calm down with your health. It's good to be concerned; it's bad to be overly concerned.

Cheers.

Hello DrMalik

Have you ever heard of plantar fasciitis? If so, can it be cured? I think my arch may have fallen due to prolonged standing.

The lateral side of my left foot is swollen and painful. It's been going on for years and it's starting to impact on my lifestyle.
I have used arch support but never seemed to help, any suggestions?

Hmmmm...of course, I have. We had a surgical repair for a patient some years back in JUTH. It can be fixed. For many patients, it resolves on its own, others will need surgeries.

Just have the surgeons review you...and you will be fine. Hopefully.

Haaaa! See an ear doctor as soon as possible. You shouldn't allow some health issues to linger for long, because some health damages are irreversible. If you see an ENT doctor, you will be examined properly and some instruments used on you.

This is the what you have to do.

Dear Doctor, I was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis in September 2014, placed on celebrex 200mg per day with 50mg tramadol and 2mg sirdalud. Then I was referred to the physiotherapist which attendance has been helpful to reduce the pain. My question is that for how long do I have to take the medication? I find it necessary every other day or every 2 days now, unlike daily before I started physio. Cos of the ongoing strike, I bought a TENS unit for use at home. Thank you for anticipated consideration sir

Hi doc in the hse, been experiencing ringing in the ears. 'started since March last year but never took it so seriously until December same year when I noticed it persisted and seemed to be getting out of hands. Visited a private ENT specialist close to me where several drugs were administered including x-ray and nose drops. The doc said it's chronic rhynosinusitis and eustachian tube dysfunction, was also given a water solution to giggle down my throat. Despite all these, the buzzing still persists but whenever I lie down facing upwards with my neck raised high and bent on a pillow or I grab my neck with my hands all around with force putting pressure on it (i.e the neck side by my right ear as it's only the right ear that's affected) I get some relief but once released, buzzing continues. Will be glad and grateful if u can advice and or assist. I feel so uncomfortable and sad at this feeling, moreso, as it's gradually affecting my mood. Thanks..started medications on sat 3/01/2015.
Your prompt response would be appreciated.

Pinopinoguy, see, we don't work with lab results in isolation. What you are experiencing, the symptoms and signs, are more important than the lab results. So, making conclusion on these results might be misleading. What are your symptoms? If you are not bold to post them publicly, contact me privately.
