UAE123: Nope! Not the beauty of democracy, but the bane of our hypocrisy (in the name of democracy). The minority senators (PDP) point out the issue, the equally corrupt majority senators (APC) will force their way, and not follow the rule of law. That is a simple recipe for chaos. A weak or nonexistent opposition is a disaster any day any time for us all. 1 Like |

See wahala... Let's look at that constitution not in clause again but in full pls... And what if the said lawmaker defects on account of his party is crises...? In this case, he said he wanted to support his governor in developing his state and these people staged a walkout... So is it the support for development that they don't want or what...? |

Thisis2raw: If you know Much about the section Akpabio quoted, you know there are clauses there. A person can defect and not lose is office if he decamped from a conflict riddled party. Is Akpabio claiming pdp is not in conflict? |

In Akpabio' time as Governor, work out of him or make a protest against him! U get killed, ur wife gets kidnapped, ur mum maimed or ur children taken away. It can even extend to ur friends, pastors or who ever may know u. So kudos to democracy as tolerance is returning. |

Akpabio should know better that the Nigerian constitution states clearly that you free to defect to another party and still maintain your seat if the party is divided. As its stands now PDP is divided so any House member can defect without losing his/or her seat. Akpabio go back and read your country's constitution well. PDP is divided so any one can defect. |
Re: Akpabio On Why PDP Senators Walked Out Of Senate Today by DTaj: 9:18am On Dec 01, 2016 |
Akpabio is such a lousy wimp. So, PDP could now talk about defection and 'political rascality'? Really? Which party made APP/ANPP become a minority party in Nigeria from 2003 through serial defections to PDP? Akpabio should tell us under which party were the following Governors, among others, elected before they defected to PDP? Yuguda of Bauchi, Turaki of Jigawa, Wammako of Sokoto, Dakingari of Kebbi, Mimiko of Ondo (serial traitor, serial back-stabber, and constant decampee who met his waterloo last Saturday), Shinkafi of Zamfara, Aliero of Kebbi, Ikedi Ohakim of Imo, Theodore Orji of Abia, etc. Under which party were the following Senators elected before they also defected to PDP? Florence Ita Giwa of Cross River, Joseph Ajayi of Ekiti, Idris Abubakar of Gombe, Uche Chukwumerije of Abia, Suleiman Ajadi of Kwara, Gbenga Ogunniya of Ondo, Mohammed Daggash of Borno, Sule Yari Gandi of Sokoto, Alphonsus Igbeke of Ebonyi, Joshua Dariye of Plateau, Omololu Meroyi of Ondo, Lekan Balogun of Oyo, Ayo Adeseun of Osun, Musiliu Obanikoro, Wahab Dosunmu, and Adeseye Ogunlewe, all 3 from Lagos; Bala Mohammed- who later became the thieving FCT Minister under GEJ-, etc, etc ). PDP killed APP/ANPP as major political party. That party fell from having 9 Governors at the beginning of this dispensation (in 1999) to only 3 Governors (Borno, Yobe, and Zamfara) in 2011 through serial defections to PDP!!! Countless number of members of the House of Reps and State Houses of Assembly also decamped from AD, APGA, APP/ANPP, Labour, PPA, ACN, etc under active connivance and force by the ruling PDP during that era! When Akpabio's PDP was the ruling party, it was good to decamp to PDP (even when the parties where these people originally got elected such as APP/ANPP, Labour, etc had no crisis or factions)! But when the same PDP is now irredeemably factionalized and in crisis, Akpabio and his band of thieves in PDP are shouting about 'political rascality'? PDP is like the proverbial official assassin of the King who cuts people's head at the Ogun shrine with relish, but would run when a cutlass is merely close to his own neck! Wonders shall never cease! |

Hon. Akpabio should be weary of people like Omo-agege, they are two faced serpents, his likes are responsible for the current tide in the PDP, in politics, we must not always agree, but at least we should stand with the team we belong, if we don't believe in the team anymore then we should leave, instead of playing the tune of discord.. The PDP has as it is should just flush out irrelevant folks that play the tune of discord and move on..the fewer the merrier. |
