The boot of Volvo S60 suddenly stopped locking. What might be the cause?

Thanks... I have got the 2007 3.2L today.. was a bit up and about before I saw what checked all my dots...
Will hit alhaji Musa tomorrow for servicing and some minor fixes
valarinz:

Both cars are trustworthy and reliable, the T5 has slightly better mpg rating though pick up speed is not the fastest.

Both share suspension and interior parts. The engine costs are a difference of 50k, at 100k for T5 and 150k for 3.2l.

Major difference in parts costs are on body kits like the side mirrors, rear and front lights, bumpers and grille. The 3.2l being much more expensive than T5

I believe by now you know what to expect

Can someone recommend a good mechanic that can handle power steering oil and engine oil leakage on Volvo S60 in Lagos?

Please I mean a good Mechanic who will do proper diagnosis and carry out proper repairs/replacements while paying attention to details when fixing parts back. Thanks

Hello Valarinz, I'm looking to get an xc90 v8 2008 later this year. Is this a good choice in terms of reliability and availability of parts?

V8 is bae, V8 is the fastest, V8 engine is the least problematic and rugged...V8 had the least mpg

Parts abound though, not like before anymore, everything is available at a fingers snap now

You've been added

I haven't been added to the group. I requested a while ago.

Meanwhile, I encourage everyone to take a look under their vehicles today.

My XC90 brought up a Check Engine which turned out to be Catalytic converter issue

I accidentally took a look under the vehicle and saw that the Catalytic converter had actually been cut open in 2 places and welded.

I failed to inspect underneath the vehicle properly it appears.

What I'm mystified about is how it passed scans and didn't throw a light about the Catalytic Converter for a whole month of hard driving.

The ECU wasn't cleared and threw up some other diagnosis at point of purchase, but not catalytic converter

When I clear it myself now, it usually shows up within a day... Really neat trick.

Hi, I am considering a v70 or S60 Nigerian used, please i want to know as compared to MB C180, how is the fuel economy like? How is the maintenance like? What are the common problems with the cars, which is a better option between the V70 and S60?

I recently fix the gasket of my Volvo xc90 Car,
I got a mechanic from Ladipo, Young dude
His name is Lanre, He actually goes online to check on forums for better ways to fix Volvo.
He fixed mine and I have no complain.
There is no better way to appreciate him than to put his name up for others to call when needed.
He is a Volvo specialist.
I need to let everyone know this Mechanic is good.

You can contact me on 09093677501 to get his number.
I really want to show him that I appreciate his work

if you have taken it to mechanics and left it there to come back and take the car even in less than 10mts they will have removed it. so it is possible you didn't buy bit like that but was removed later from u. try thing through becos this wicked guy remove cat from cars not only when you come to work on exhaust.

Thank you.

to start with C180 is a 1.8L I4 engine while V70 and S60 hav there engine capacity options 2.2l, 2.4l, 2.4l+T 2.5l+T.
now depending on ur requirements you go for Versatility 70 /Sport 60
V70 is more of work and hard jobs, sites, farms travels etc with very large cargo space. S60 is fun, trips, travels with limited trunk space.
both cars a very durable and maintenance is almost same. make your choice as pa ur needs.

what do you guys think about steam washing the engine bay?

is it advisable?

then there's this hose just behind the radiator (i think it goes to the turbo) in my vehicle looks dodgy, melted surface and all that, though it doesn't appear to be leaking.

is that the same with you guys? and should i think about changing it?
