BECAUSE JONATHAN HAS EVERY REASON AND EVIDENCE TO CONTEXT THE OUTCOME OF THAT FRAUDLENT ELECTION BUT HE DIDN'T.
It's his prerogative to contest the election but not his prerogative to hold on to power. I've been saying this time without number, that Jonathan wasn't the first in Nigeria to hand over power. Obj had what it takes not to hand over power in 1979 but he conducted Democratic election and handed over without wielding any overlord, same thing done by Abdulsalam Abubakar. These are military rulers that can do and undo, let alone in a democratic setting, guided by constitution. If Jonathan has done otherwise, today he would have been experiencing Gbagbo's treatment. What military men could not successfully done, it would be difficult for civilian to successfully do it. He only did what is expected of him to relinquish power. If he has contested it, many cans of worms would have let loosed on the rigging activities perpetrated in the south south during the presidential election.

Its not like they single headedly handed over to their desired party members, there were elections held and ANC won those elections.

Whoever is then appointed to take over obviously has to come from the ANC.

If the same party wins over and over again, with the presidents willing to step down, then they qualify to be in this list.

What are you even talking? I'm telling you they've never been an opposition led federal government in South-Africa since 1994 , yet you're here making excuses.

You clearly are out of your depths in this topic. You should go argue in a topic were you have strengths.

Jonathan contest election?

He is a coward who was played like a table tennis ball by almost everyone in his cabinet. GEJ has no balls and folks keep giving him more credit than he deserves.

Do you see how herdsmen are butchering other Nigerians. That would have been how GEJ would have been sent to yonder. Leaving Aso Rock was his best personal decision to secure his life. It has nothing to do with democracy.

Why would there be any other governing party when masses keep voting for the same party. If you're waiting for transition of government, then you'll wait tire

2014 elections

*60% ANC
*20% DA
*7% EFC

How then do you expect DA to govern?

1999 elections

*66% ANC
*9. DP

This is a compilation of presidents who stepped down peacefully... They are there for that purpose.

Please if this is a joke, lets stop it...is it not true that our elders say ...''make haste to remove the monkey's hand from the soup pot lest it turns to that of a human...'' undecided

Lets being sycophants...It hasn't helped us since 1999.

Yes, Thabo Mbeki tried to change the constitution to seek a 3rd term, just like Obasanjo in Nigeria, the South-African parliament refused.

Mandela did not seek a second term because he was already too old.

A term in South-Africa is 5 years.

Thabo Mbeki tried to change the constitution to seek a 3rd term, the South-African parliament refused.

where did you get this from?

He's referring to the rumours made my the Msholizi camp before Polokwane. The same rumours they later accused each other about. Both Mandela and Mbeki were against that the "third term issue".

Mind you, Mbeki being against it didn't necessarily rule out him going for third term. Way before the rumours, The Bisho House had initially asked him to take third term. Only for the Msholozi camp to present the matter as though Mbeki was the initiator. The Mbeki-Zuma fued fueled everything. Same as they had accused him (Mbeki) of vetoing ARVs, only for Nzimande, Vavi and Malema to separately admit to the mistake.
