you would the surprised to learn that "local investors" are just a front for foreign saboteurs. Even the clause you talk off was likely included at the insistence of the same imperialist foreign saboteurs. realjoker: |
Re: Daily Electricity Generation Update by realjoker(m): 2:20pm On Feb 18, 2017 |
GenBuhari:You might not be far from the truth, but local investors are the real investors (although some of them partner foreign firms, most of their foreign partners are not from western countries) most of them took bank loans and some bank chiefs took bank money to acquire power assets. What do you expect from investors who borrowed money to acquire properties that needs massive injection of funding to operate properly, where will they source this required fund from? after borrowing to acquire the assets in first place. The plan to privatize power assets is one of the act past administration got right but how it was executed was one of the reasons sane Nigeria will never forgive it of its wrongs. 1 Like |

Only solution remains for we consumers to stop paying estimated bills. If the Discos are not viable then they can shutdown and another viable firm can take over realjoker: |

Please why is that the light in our area is never affected by changes in power generation. when We were generating 2300 MW we had 3hours of light daily now they are generating 4000MW we expect the supply to move up to 5 or 6 hrs now its even worse as we we get 30mins per day now |

Re: Daily Electricity Generation Update by realjoker(m): 4:04pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
jarkbauer:The reason u don't experience improve power supply whenever power generation increases is because Disco can't collect higher bills from what they are currently collecting in your area whether they increase power output to Ur area or not whenever power generation increases, instead of increasing the amount of energy sent to Ur area they will rather sale to where they know increase in power supply will lead to increase in bills collection. 1 Like |

Re: Daily Electricity Generation Update by realjoker(m): 5:56pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
jarkbauer:They lose about 40% of the power they send out to energy theft, so they try to squeeze those who pay bills as much as possible to meet their short fall to energy theft. The Discos are not serious, they have not been able to drive up their bills collection which is one of the clause injected in to the terms of the privatization of distribution assets to them by government and are yet to make the necessary investments to improve their bills collection rate. |

jarkbauer:Even here at Aboru Iyana ipaja.. I love what u guys are doing here.. We get billed high but we only get power for less than 2hours daily why? This people should find a way to balance this issue. We pay for the service on monthly basis so we should get it delivered appropriately. God bless Nigeria |

Seems like power generation drop astronomically, SO is yet to release 20/02/2017 system report. And I am also feeling the reduction in power generation yesterday( The current is a little bit low) and today (No light) |

odogwubiafra:Why can't you face your biafra struggle. And leave the issue of Nigeria to we Nigerians? Under GEJ Capacity, generation and demand As of December 2013, the total installed or nameplate capacity (maximum capacity) of the power plants was 6,953 MW. Available capacity was 4,598 MW. Actual average generation was 3,800 MW. As of December 2014, the total installed capacity of the power plants was 7,445 MW. Available capacity was 4,949 MW. Actual average generation was less than 3,900 MW. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_Nigeria The Presidential Task Force on Power's peak demand forecast is 12,800 MW (April 2015). As at may 2015 power generation dropped to 0 MW on so many occasions and your hero is the president then and handed over a near to comatose nation to PMB In may 2015 Here are what the daily headlines look like under GEJ http://saharareporters.com/2015/05/25/fuel-crisis-airports-tv-stations-and-hospitals-shut-down-economy-slides-toward-recession Fuel Crisis: Nigeria grounded as Jonathan govt. snores ... www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/183496-nigerias-power-generation-at-all-time-low-crashes-to-1327 This one is from sun news paper How epileptic power supply's killing Nigerian industries http://sunnewsonline.com/how-epileptic-power-supplys-killing-nigerian-industries Then fast forward to August 2015 MizMyColi created this thread on this forum Power Supply Is Almost Constant In My Area. Why? What Happened?? https://www.nairaland.com/2496565/power-supply-almost-constant-area Many of you admit drastic improvements in power supply but claim GEJ should take the credit because PMB has not made any investment on power assets to guarantee such drastic improvements due to your shallow mindedness. realjoker: So all these to prove that GMB has performed better in power than the previous administration. An administration this focus less Buhari led APC painted bad and incompetent, that is the administration you are comparing the "change" administration with. Need l remind you that the hype that brought this administration in was supper high. The comparison judging by their fake manifesto and campaign promises, we are suppose to be comparing Nigeria with America instead, instead of a backward comparison. |

Re: Daily Electricity Generation Update by Standing5(m): 1:57am On Feb 25, 2017 |
realjoker:All those figure u sampled are still too small for us. Imagine SA having 12 times our capacity and yet we claim we are the biggest in Africa. Let us bring back industrial estates and allow off-grid arrangement to cater for them if we must make progress because to me our National grid isn't workable. Both GEJ and Buhari have failed woefully in terms of Power. Why don't Nigerians have prepaid meters today? Why are we still estimating billing? Imagine about a month ago, an EDC official went to disconnect a compound with prepaid meter in my area. How can any competent PHCN person not know that prepaid meter cuts off the user when their credit finishes? |
