Senate Rejects Closure Of Abuja Airport by Dieumerci1: 2:27pm On Jan 10, 2017
The Senate has kicked against the planned closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja and diversion of flights to the Kaduna airport.

The lawmakers also summoned the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, service chiefs and other stakeholders in the aviation industry, giving a 48-hour deadline.

Details later…

..
So Buhari wanted to divert Abuja bound flights to his political godson so that Kaduna too will be chopping revenue from federal arrangement.

Nobody is saying anything about the dangers of Abuja-Kaduna road, even the Abuja-Kaduna railway is being monitored by airforce because of the criminals parading on that route.

Buhari, do whatever you want to do in that airport without closing it or diverting the flights to Kaduna.

El-Rufai i sight your arrangee something, e no work......

Who needs Senate to accept it?

The useless Senate can kick from today till tomorrow, it doesn't make any difference.

Where is their brain? A runway that was meant to last for twenty years but has lasted for more than 34 years and in a very bad shape should not be closed so that it's repaired?

God, what type of yeye politics and democracy are we engaged in?

Built in 1982 with a planned 20-year life span, Sirika said the “entire structure of the runway has failed” and was “unsafe for operation.”

Helicopter services will also be available between Kaduna and Abuja

As i said elsewhere....

Better we fix the runway now....

Than delay and then when accident happens...and there is loss of lives...people will start shouting.

Close the airport, fix the runway and divert flights to Kaduna. Let us do the right thing.

And time Abuja got a second airport.

You must still be eating from your parents' pot.

If not, you'd understand that Senate has nothing to do with this. They can only groan and moan like Liepods and Biafrats do online.

Fixing the airport or any other such infrastructure does not need the Senate approval.

Ignorant things can't even understand that the senate was only reported to have kicked against it.

Why was "rejected" not used instead of "kicked" if the senate approval is indeed required.

Product of baby factories who should be busy with their studies cursing and wailing away their life online.

the whole arrangement sounds fishy....how long would it take to complete a run way that people have to go all the way to kd....let them come and confess d truth

but on a second thought, this would be a wake up call to fix that road and improve security along that road
