@Poster,
The guy that wrote this, is an ignorant fool. He should get his facts right before posting nonsense on net.
Imo state is the only state with high marriage bills and its only in some places.
Towns like mbano,mbaise,mbaitoolu,orlu etc are the ones with high dowry. Before you marry from this places you'll spend at least half a million before you can get married properly. In some cases they can reduce the amount a little, if the guy is not capable enough.
But Anambra is different. In some cases, the father will not accept anything from the bridegroom. They do this just to tell you that they're not selling off their daughter.
So the cargo should do his homework very well before posting crap.

Those tramp-a$s leeches sell anything to balance their books. Must you be rewarded for educating your own daughter?

Re: Marrying An Anambra Woman: This Nonsense Must Stop? by axeman85(m): 10:18pm On Nov 27, 2009
This is funny. but at least make my babe papa allow me marry him daughter first make them see if i go pay or not. grin

@ poster

to be honest whoever wrote that articule is either stupid or daft. it all depends on the type of family the girl has. some family that are well to do dont ask to go and bring millions before they allow you marry their daughter, some tribe will ask you to bring it thou but they will return it back to yoy and tell you to use it to look after their daughter. some poor families will also see it as an opportunity to milk the guy dry especially if the guys is showing himself off.

if all families were asking for millions, those okada riders, conductors and bus drivers wont get married then but they are. reason i know this is because my babe is from anambra niise to be precise, 1st daughter and 1st born and i have made inquiries from friends, collegues, and elders to know what if its tru about what they say about high bride price. in some cases its true and in some cases it isnt.

I wonder where they get their information from undecided

Except if ur in-laws are greedy, I have never heard a situation where marriage was cancelled due to high bride price. If an Okada man, a palm wine tapper or even a shoe repairer can afford to have two wives, U really wonder how and where these nay sayers get their info from. undecided
