•President also speaks with Lai Mohammed
• Garba Shehu misses call, gets sms
Vacationing President Muham-madu Buhari
yesterday called up his chief spokesman, Femi
Adesina and Information Minister Lai
Mohammed from London.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on
Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu
missed his call but got an sms later.
Buhari thanked Adesina for holding out against
mischief makers.
Adesina had drawn flak from the public after
saying he had not spoken with his principal
since he left the country.
However, the presidential aide writing on his
Facebook page yesterday said: “At exactly
2:43pm today, Saturday, February 25, 2017,
my phone rang. Who was at the other end?
Tunde Sabiu, personal assistant to President
Muhammadu Buhari.”
“Hold on for Mr. President,” Tunde said.
Then came the President who said: “Femi,
how are you? (He calls me Adesina most
times, but today (yesterday), he opted for
Femi).”
“I screamed.’ Mr President, I have missed you.
How are you sir?
“He first laughed. That familiar laugh. Then he
said: ‘I am still resting. Thank you for holding
out against mischief makers.’
“I said it was my duty, the very least I could
do, adding how happy I was to speak with
him.
‘How is your family?’
“I said we were fine, and he asked me to
extend his greetings to them.
“‘I hope to call you again, ” Mr President said,
and I bade him farewell, adding: ‘Best wishes,
sir’.”
Adesina added that the call made his day,
saying he never sought to speak with the
president to debunk rumours about his health.
“It was a defining moment for me. For more
than a month, I had always spoken with aides
who are with the president in London,” he
wrote.
“Not once did I ask them to take the phone to
him, deliberately so, because I didn’t need to
speak with him to validate the fact that he
was alive. And since he was on vacation, he
had a right to his privacy.
“Of his own volition, President Buhari spoke
with me. It made my day. Even if he hadn’t
done so, he would have remained my
President, my leader, and my man. Any day.”
Garba Shehu also took to the social media to
explain how he missed the President’s phone
call.
He said: “A day for the Presidential Media
Team. We are thankful to the President,
Muhammadu Buhari for sparing the time to
make calls to the Media team.
“The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed
and the Special Adviser, Femi Adesina
responded to the calls, exchanged greetings
and thanked him for calling.
“I had an SMS from him thereafter because I
missed my call! I humbly join them to say
thank you, Baba Buhari!! “We are together with
other Nigerians of all faiths, in praying for his
safe return.” |

okpalaAnambra: Yes, just as the Afonja soldiers were used to sacrifice over three million senseless Flattinos to the Afonja gods including Ogun, Sango and Esu Odara when you traitors picked up arms against the Federal Republic in 1967. |

Ibcrown: President of Biafra, not Nigeria. Audio ex-Minister of Agriculture. He was all over the place saying that he has revolutionalized rice cultivation and processing and in fact Agriculture in general and that Nigeria was then producing all her needed food and even exporting to all the countries of the world. The other old baba Audu Ogbeh came in and continued the same audio Agriculture that Femi Adeshina started. Then, it happened, Buhari closed the borders, that was when we discovered that Femi Adeshina and Audu Ogbeh are two fraudstars that served in different governments. Ordinary tomatoes, Nigeria has been importing with small percentage coming from the North. When the price of rice went up by about 150% after Buhari closed the borders, my people did not ask the question, where is the rice that Femi Adeshina and Audu Ogbeh said we have been planting, harvesting, processing, polishing, eating and exporting over the years. South-West, we control the Media and we tell you only what we want you to know either true of false. We sold Femi Adeshina to the world purely by propaganda and the world bought it. |
