InyinyaAgbaOku: Excellent point. I think this is the key. Driving the entire length Ogui Rd, from Zoo roundabout to Holy Ghost, there are countless divergent roads that are also well tarred for you to exit Ogui Rd if busy and reconnect at a later point. In Lagos, If you hit Ikorodu rd en route V.I. you are practically imprisoned on that road. there is no escape route, coupled with zillions of cars. 8 Likes 1 Share |

InyinyaAgbaOku:So Enugu people are more civilized than Lagos people?have u seen how Lagos drivers drive on Sundays and during Christmas period when people from other states must have travelled to their home states? You won't believe that's the Lagos you know because there is less traffic and people don't need to disobey traffic lights and signs. |

koning: Bakynes, adopt this comment. Plus, you haven't explained why Ibadan is not better than driving in Lagos if we go by population. Forget it, there are sane and insane cities. I guess London doesn't have better driving than Lagos and Ibadan cos it's populated. 1 Like |

Driving in Emily gives peace. Which City in Nigeria has the best driving culture?[/b] Judged by respect for other road users, yield, adherence to Highway Code, etc. In my opinion, Lagos is the best. If you move vehicles from only Ozumba Mbadiwe to Warri, Benin City or Port Harcourt, you will shut down any of the cities. Warri motorists drive like they are possessed and show no qualms driving against the traffic. Benin City drivers have no respect for traffic lights. [/quote] |

Can't say about the best, but would talk about the worst. Port Harcourt, Benin, Lagos, Ibadan and Maiduguri would top my list of worst drivers. PH- Drivers are reckless, love driving against traffic and park recklessly even in the middle of the road to pick passengers. Would say PH drivers are mad. Benin- They don't obey traffic light. They are wicked drivers (when they can't pass they won't allow others to pass) and that's one of the major cause of traffic jam in Benin. Lagos- Their Danfo drivers can bruise your car and they won't care. Ibadan- The Micra drivers are so reckless like those Keke riders in lagos. Maiduguri- They are killer drivers, they drive with extreme speed even within neighbourhood streets like they are Bullion van drivers. Note the traffic issue we face in Lagos is due to the high number of cars, with the number of drivers in Lagos if they drive like that of Benin or PH, nobody would move for days. 2 Likes |

InyinyaAgbaOku:As regards more alternative routes Lagos doesn't have much of that that contributes to traffic and insanity of drivers but considering the fact that during festive period when people travel to their home states Lagos roads always experience serenity. 1 Like |

I have driven in major towns in Nigeria, Lagos drivers and Bayelsa drivers are the worse. The best drivers that I can give it to as per obedient to traffic rules is Kaduna State |

Enugu. I was ashamed wen I wanted to do a Uturn and every oncomin car stopped and waited for me to cross. I was ashamed cos I had rudely, forcefully pushed into the road as someone driving in Asaba where forceful crossing and uturn is the order, only for them to all be waiting. Enugu is still Nigeria o, but far beta.than most parts i hv been includin Benin, Lag, Asaba, Onitsha, PH. Uyo is good too. 6 Likes |

Enugu anyday. Lagos drivers are too much in a hurry to adhere to rules despite presence of traffic officials. Abuja drivers do adhere to traffic rules too. 1 Like |

I am a yoruba boy living in enugu for d past eight years, after several years, months, weeks and days in 16 states of this country, I can boldly tell u that Enugu is d best when it comes to anything with transportation. From good road network to tarred roads to over working traffic lights to responsible and well manner drivers ( both public $ private),apart from d general police quata. Port Harcourt drivers are the craziest. The have no idea of traffic rules and the taxis drop passengers anywhere, even at the middle of the road. The big men with sirens and bus drivers drive "one way" on the major roads. If 3rd mainland bridge was in PH they will drive one way on it. The roads are not marked and a 3 lane road could turn to 7 lanes with cars facing different directions. I have been to many cities (Uyo, Ibadan, Lagos, Owerri, Enugu...) and by a mile PH is the worst place to drive. |
