George, you're not making sense!

Why would one choose a difficult option? If one prefers an auto, they'll get an auto, simple. Manuals are not hard to drive, people are merely lazy, and can't seem to grasp the fact that humans do adapt, and can multi-task.

Manuals are here to stay, manufacturers will always give the end user the option of both. Manuals will remain the choice for enthusiastic driving the world over. One of the reasons even Formula 1 cars are manual.

The US has always been in love with auto's, so nothing new.

However, look on American car forums, and manuals are still the choice of enthusiasts, with users actually converting their self shifters to manuals. Auto's remove driver involvement, and take the fun out of driving. Real driver's cars are manual only.

I'm sure the above could afford to fit auto's, but why ruin the driving experience, with a slow, ponderous and power-sapping automatic transmission?

siena, calabaman, again you both are right. we have been saying the same thing all along. manuals will never be phased out. they'll only be moved over to the auto gallery or museum where interested enthusiasts can go have a peek.
besides when the time comes, you can always p.i.m.p your auto ride if only to show your love for manuals! 

manual all the way always loved manual and cant imagine myself dirving an auto, besides i just love the way i have to move the gears and controlling my legs. like to be in control. Manual all the way.

@george, Not when there are people lyk me ready to fight for manuals 2 remain, Dnt get me wrong auto's are ok but manual's are on a class of their own esp when travellin i lyk the feel of chnging of gears when u want to overtake nd when climbin a hill, Lets not forget manuals are v.cost efective but bigboi lyk u would nt be into the aspect of cost i guess, Thats why i lyk the soviets dem soji beta thing(manual)
