prof12: No ! dlondonbadboy's brain does not need any resetting at least not with the points he raised. Have you asked yourself what would be our collective gain as a country if we succeed in ridiculing our parliament ? (I want to assume you are patriotic citizen) Fix: For the purpose of this discussion Mr. prof12, stop focusing on the individuals in our senate presently (i know it is tempting but not entirely impossible) rather, see same as Our apex Law making body and as such superior to one and all. I hope it is not too much to ask ? |

It bothers me that while we accuse the PDP of not living up to expectations and voting them out, the people we hoped to rescue us have chosen to fight itself rather than work to make Nigeria progress. If it is not budget wahala, its is EFCC and Saraki's case, now Magu's wahala. Delays here and there. The APC, Buhari and the Senate fails to realize that they have spent almost 2 years of their being in power doing practically nothing, cos it is yet to reflect on the lives of the commom man in the country. Then when 2018 comes most of their energy, time and other resources would be geared towards electioneering campaigns. So when will this terrible brood of vipers work for its citizens? |

(forwarded as received) NASS REFUSE TO PASS THE LAW TO ALLOW USE OF RECOVERED LOOT FOR NIGERIANS Many people erroneously believe that Buhari is not fighting corruption; that none of the people arrested/detained/accused by the EFCC has been sentenced to prison. Buhari wants to set up an anti-corruption court and the bill called the Special Criminal Courts Act has been submitted to the NASS (National Assembly) since last year, but they have refused to pass it into law. The same thing is happening to the Whistle Blowers Protection Act meant to protect whistleblowers from injury, death, economic sabotage, and job termination. The Senate told the government point blank that they will not pass the Anti-Money Laundering Act into law. The bill has been with the Senate since 2015. If corruption is not tackled and the judiciary is not re-organized to tackle corruption, how will Nigeria leave the developing country status and become a DEVELOPED NATION? Most of the funds recovered cannot be accessed until the cases are concluded at the Supreme Court. We are talking about N2 trillion potentially that the government cannot touch until final judgment at the Supreme Court. That is why passage of the Anti-corruption courts legislation is critical to accessing these funds because cases at the trial court level will be concluded more expeditiously. Now this same NASS is asking for 2.3% of get this, ALL FEDERAL ALLOCATION, for "constituency project". Didn't we embark on the wrong protest yesterday after all? Can we now see the true enemies of Nigeria? There is a perception deficit. Many people cannot even hear what the administration is saying because a dangerous narrative is being sold to people that Buhari caused the recession (the recession which since 2014 Madam NOI, awa 1st rate economist, has warned us will happen) If this perception deficit is not corrected, Buhari will not be able to get the support he needs to get his programs through, especially the ones that need enabling laws from the NASS. by Bunmi Awoyemi edited by Chidinma Nnadi addendum by fellow Nigerians - Remember terrorists only understand one language and that is terror. We must all unleash terror on these NASS members so they will understand we are not going to sit back and watch them continue to destroy Nigeria. 1 Like |

doctokwus: It may seem that way but he has actually done a lot to strengthen our democratic experience by his light handed approach. Don't forget that some people had written their "Buhari is a tyrant" placards since 2015. They are waiting to spring. Buhari is not a roforofo fighter: lost presidential election 3 times and went all the way to the supreme court in each case, rather than fight dirty. He has shown more faith in our weak institutions than any Nigerian alive. He understands the weakness and corruption of the current NASS and will still humour them, in his characteristic way. Buhari is not a 'politician' in the way we have them in Nigeria: that's why Jona is still free. That's why Saraki is the senate president. But Buhari has stamina to get his way in the end. That is why he has turned the economy northwards despite all the deadly distractions. Same reason he won the presidency on the 4th time of asking. He will put this bunch of bandits where they belong in the sleekiest way legally allowed. You watch. |

louwie: My man the Senate and the senators have succeeded in ridiculing itself long ago. Must we allow such to continue? Why is it that any issue that is for the benefit of the masses but against one them is always rejected by them and remember we voted and sent them to the Senate to serve us we are not to serve them. Finally, the moment you disrespect and go against the opinion of who ever gives you opportunity to serve him or her, that is the first step of self ridiculing and that is exactly what the Senate has succeeded in doing to itself. 1 Like |

Jajayi: Very very good. The NASS must stop allowing these Retired Military from twisting them. They are Hypocrites at Democracy. The 27INECs, Magu, Ali etcetera must be suspended indefinitely. NASS, Judiciary and Executive must coexist by The Fundamental objectives and Directive Principles of The Nigerian Constitution. No one must intimidate the other. |
