People can barely eat and you re here talking of buying cars, some families are even selling off their cars to feed.

Don't mind him. Hw much is d income of an average Nigerian? Hw much is d smallest/cheapest of Toyota's? The fact that our polithiefans buy tear-rubber cars after every loot doesn't translate to sustainable sales for future growth.

Toyota products are too expensive, imagine ordinary corolla going for N4m, hummer bus going for N9-11m, wetin?

People must look for alternatives, thanks to Kia Hyundai,Innonsense, Geely and the cheaper brands.

Not to forget motivation from our daddy Bubu himself.

This is expected. When you go to their major dealers like globe motors, stallion motors etc, Corolla is sold for 20,million naira.
Camry, 30 million naira,
Rav 4 18million naira,
Prado, 40million naira,
Land cruiser 45 million,
Avalon, 35 million etc all brand new, 2017. Just tell me which company in its right sense would buy a COROLLA for 20million.
Other brands like Hyundai were affected.
e. G the elantra which was 3.5 million brand new is now 8.9 million. ELANTRA?? Jesu!

However, upon checking the cost of corolla in US, which is around 15k dollars, and multiply by 400, u get not up to 5 million naira. Our customs are very greedy and it seems they don't know the economic effect of their actions on the whole populace. How can u pay 85% of the real value of a car. Buhari should go please

Why won't I then go for tokunbo jejeli and use the change to build an estate. Corolla 20million. Tufiapa
Even if I had the cash to buy such vehicles I won't buy them cos the moment a car steps our of the show room it's value deprecites by the day, although there's nothing like driving a brand new tear rubber vehicle. instead I will ship in a tokunbo toyota vehicle from the US, pay custom duty on the vehicle and invest the remaining money on building a house or a very good investment that will give me valuable returns. why will I pay 45 million naira for motor when dem no swear for me from village come Lagos.

buhari led administration has ruin this country, nigeria is in a bad condition

They should tell Toyota to come and set up a manufacturing plant in Nigeria
Do those people have plans for our economy at all? After how many years of selling Toyota, you're still importing the cars.

What do u expect when you put a price tag of N18m on a Toyota Corolla? That we should buy? Review your prices ASAP and watch the sales figure go north.
Let government review the exchange rate.

USD has been down from about 520 to about 380 in the first quarter. They should review their prices to reflect current exchange rate

Is he the one that put a price tag of 18 million on toyota corrolla or Buharis poor economic policies did ?
If u are right, the man should take his wailing to Buhari then grin grin
On a more serious note, why should Toyota be importing cars into the Nigerian market from South Africa? He should seriously start making plans to set up an manufacturing or assembling plant in Nigeria. That will surely reduce the price of the finished product and increase sales.

Stup1d toyota have 24% market share in a country as big as nigeria yet they don't have atleast an assembly plant here.

People should completely boycott toyota and go for the ones that have plants in nigeria.

Enough of shipping our money abroad to buy nonsense toyota (one of the things that crumbled our economy to begin with) and reduced people's purchasing power.

The cost of doing business in this country is something else..

They should review prices of goods they bought at dollar of 520, to reflect exchange rate of 380? Who will pay for the loss/difference?

With double digit interest rates where is he supposed to get lending from ? With the struggling power supply where is he suppose to get cheap electricity from? Withe unaffordable cost of diesel and gas using a generator is out of it a d besides he still has to import that 3000 kva generator he needs abi do you suggest he also set up an assembly plant for generators so hecan get them cheaper ? The truth is we are being led by those that no know nothing about how to improve an economy

Bro, even with all these challenges you listed above..a single individual from Nnewi was able to set up a plant here. How much more a global brand with access to funding from their parent company? I think even Dangote has one now for trucks. The earlier Toyota key in, the better.
