The word is demeaning

How? Business Insider used the same word on an article about billionaires who were once poor, they're American & nobody was sued. You lots are just being sensitive over nothing as usual. Don't you ever get tired? Geez!

Now this is insulting

How? Because to me that's the only reason someone would huff & puff over a word, they simply don't understand it due to being less exposed to it.

She is a fine and clean girl na. Even when she was still selling bread. And also, its not all poor girls that are dirt sef. Like if u agree, share if you don't.
To be dirt poor actually doesn't mean being dirty. I just checked the dictionary. A dirt poor fellow is an extremely poor person. One can be a clean dirt poor personality. Olajumoje is however a clean dirt poor bread seller; a feat which earned her the unimaginable fame she enjoys now.

'Dirt poor' means to be ' very poor'. It does not connote physical hygiene. Chill, folks!

When things go south, you know what that means and it has gone south for South African newspaper.

Their choice of words is derogatory, very assuring to us again that no love exist between us. Jumoke is a success story, shikena!
.

She is a success story but we brought this remark upon ourselves. When we call her "bread seller turned model". Why won't they describe her using such words. It is the name you call your dog it bears.

I don't know much about Jummy, but I love her attitude. Just look at how she controlled the situation - I know of other celebrities who would have ranted about the paper choice of words. #JummyIsBae

You're right. Same way people abuse each other unnecessarily here on NL. When those from other countries do the same to us, we get angry and unite to fight back.

This is what happens when you dont value your home made media. They paint us with sh*t all day and .that's why we are trailing then in digitization even though the first television station Africa(WNTV) undecided was in Nigeria!
