Great Nairalanders,

I want to start today posting by saying am very sorry for disappointing you guys after I had promised that the classes will be holding on every Monday and Thursday of the week. I wouldn't have known how much I have offended you guys, until when I met one of those following this posting religiously, though he thanked me for the selfless service am giving here, but he showed his anger on absence without leave "AWOL", no matter how busy I am, still promise suppose to be kept.  Once again I say please you should all forgive me.  I am a man, that proposes but it is only God disposes.

Thank you for finding a place in your heart to forgive me. I will try as much as possible to keep to my words. Thank you all.

Back to the business of the day, today we shall be learning about:

TYPES OF HAULAGE BUSINESS:  Types of haulage business simply means different sections of haulage business that you are opportuned to venture into depending on a lot of factors.  They are as follows:

QUARRY BREAKING:  This is the section that deals with the use of heavy equipment to break mass deposit quarry into smaller granite sizes in a quarry site which has been aquired by a quarry company with license from the government to break and sell to the public.  Most of these equipment is been rented from haulage company and certain amount is paid at the end of the month as per contract agreement between the two parties.

TIPPING:  This involves the use of tipper of different types to transport granites from quarry site or sand from the lake for use in construction industry/site.

PAYLOADING:  In this section, we have tractors that are used to load granites for truck at the quarry site or sand at the lake.

TANKERING:  It is transporting of petroleum products such as kerosine, diesel, petrol, gas etc from depots to their required destinations to satisfy the final consumers.

CRANNING:  This section is used in lifting and transporting of heavy duty equipments like electric pole, container, generator, transformer etc from one place to another.

TRUCKING:  This is the commonest type of haulage business where by trucks of different sizes to convey goods, container, cargo, etc from one place to the other until it gets to the final consumers for satistaction.

Class, we are done for today. By the grace of God we shall meet on Monday 15th Feb, this time God helping me I would not default.

Till we meet again, see you at the top.

All is WELL!

Hi
Check this out

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 2:56pm On Feb 15, 2010
Hello in the House,

We are starting today's lecture straight to the business on the topic:

TYPES OF VEHICLE(EQUIPMENT) INVOLVED IN HAULAGE BUSINESS

The Type of vehicles or equipments used in different sections are different from one another, even in the same section, we still have different type of vehicles involved. After considering the different type, we shall then talk on what to look out for in picking your vehicle for the business.

QUARRY BREAKER: This equipment is very costly that is, it is capital-intensive. Hence it is the leasing company or bank rather than individual that purchase it and rent it out to quarry company

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 3:22pm On Feb 15, 2010
The next we are looking is the TIPPING TRUCKS, which is otherwise known as DUMPING TRUCKS. It is used to convey either granite or sand from quarry and lake sides respectively. We have 20tons and 30tons as follows:

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 3:23pm On Feb 15, 2010
This is pix of 30tons. Check it out

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 3:49pm On Feb 15, 2010
Class,

The next equipment we are looking at is called PAYLOADER. Unfortunately, its capital-intensive nature had made many investors to ignore it, but it is a money-spinning investment. Even its operator alone does not go home with any amount less than N30,000 daily, then how much will an investor be earning from it

Its function is to load dumping truck(Tipper) with granite and sand at quarry and lake sites respectively.

Let us quickly look at another snubbed money-spinning equipment that you can invest on. It is known as FORK LIFT. This can be used to carry finished goods from the factory to the warehouse, likewise it can be used to load or offload pallet in and out of trucks.

This is the pix

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 4:17pm On Feb 15, 2010
I want to believe that you are not bored, I can continue. Ok! We shall be talking about another vital equipment that is called CRANE TRUCK. It has dual purpose, it can be used to load and at the same time it can carry. Mostly, it is been used to load and carry heavy equipment such as electric pole, generator, transformer, container(Cargo) etc.

It can be used to load other truck or itself with sand, gravel or granites.

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 4:32pm On Feb 15, 2010
The last equipment but not the least we are going to discuss today is what everybody used to call TANKERS. Their predominant usage is to convey petroleum products such as gas, petrol, diesel, kerosine, etc from depot to nook and crannies of the country. You are bond to make fortune in this section of haulage business because Nigeria is an oil producing country, so there will always be job for you.

We have both small and large tanker. The smaller tanker is commonly used to carry diesel or at time kerosine, it is not commonly used to convey petrol. But the larger tanker can be used to carry any of the petroleum products.

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 7:55pm On Feb 18, 2010
Hello Class,

Today we go straight to the disucssion of type of equipments involved in TRUCKING section of Haulage business and as ealier said this is the commonest of all sections, probably because of the relatively small capital required to start it.

There are different types of equipments such as:

VAN VEHICLE:  This consist of small size vehicles that are used in carrying small quantity of load especially finished goods within the locality of a state.  Pick-up vehicle falls into this class.

SMALL TRUCK:  In this class, we have truck of small size such as little as 8tons, 10tons, 15tons and 20tons and the truck can either be
FLATBED BACK:  This is usuall used to carry small container, cement, bagged product or pole
CONTAINER BACK:  This is used to carry finished goods that can easily be affected by weather ie rain or sun and need security especially when travelling on long journey.

BIG TRUCK:  What most of call trailer is known as truck, the tail is what is really call trailer but here in Nigeria we call the head and the tail trailer.  So for the purpose of easy understanding, I will call the vehicle invloved in this class trailer. Most of them are of 30tons, 33tons, 35tons and I think the largest is 40tons.  It can as well be catregories into:
FLATBED BACK:  This is usuall used to carry small container, cement, bagged product or pole
CONTAINER BACK:  This is used to carry finished goods that can easily be affected by weather ie rain or sun and need security especially when travelling on long journey.

Nairalanders,

I know for sure that we are happy and benefiting from the write-up of this Mr. Fullforce, infact the name really fit the boy or na man I should call him. He must be a responsible citizen of Nigeria and what do we suppose to do for someone like this who is given all the invaluable information free of charge.

I know some people with this kind of useful and lucrative information that will have gathered us together for a day seminar for a fee of N10,000.=. What I want to suggest is that every body in the house that is enjoying this posting should not only read and leave, but should all be commending this man by posting a word of encouragement here to celebrate this unknown hero (Fullforce).

Mr. Fullforce, I pray that your fountain of knowlegde shall not run dry. By now you might touch a lot of life, God will definitely give your life a divine touch.

Mr. Powermen,

I am very grateful for your concern about me, though people are not posting their response here but mostly they talk to me through my email: strikerealgold@gmail.com and my phone numbers: 08037207231/07026446990

Infact beyond my expectation, people are contacting me. One day, I just decided to share my experience with fellow nairalanders, but of recent Friday 19th Feb, one of the class attendants here just bought one iveco trailer and put it in my registered haulage company to be managing it for him.  This is wonerful you will say, infact it is.

Powerman, thank you once again.

It is WELL!

Hello Class,

We are starting today class by looking at the picture of both flatback and container back trucks (30tons):

Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 8:25pm On Feb 22, 2010
Fellow Nairalanders,

If I fail to talk about this next subtopic, I have not done well and that is:

CHARACTERISTICS OF QUALITY TRUCK

What I mean by this is the features you look for in any truck you want to buy before going for it, they are as follows>

DURABILITY: Don't just buy any type of vehicle that will be causing problem for you now and then. The number one truck I will recommend is MACK, the America make infact it is hardly found in Europe. The vehicle is very rugged and it is good for Nigeria roads. It lasts and can travel long journey. Others follow in this order: MAN, DAF, IVECO, SCANIA, MERCEDES etc

MECHANIC: This is another important factors that must be considered before venturing into buying of truck. Make sure there is availabity of experienced and honest specialist that can handle the vehicle anytime it has fault. If you buy any vehicle that experienced mechanics are few, the few ones will not only "Sap" your pocket but the many quacks will make sure you never reap any thing from your investment. Take heed!

SPARE PART: Make sure the spare part can easliy be found in Nigeria and not too cost, because that may make you lose a lot of fortune whenever any part needs to be changed. Do not buy the vehicle that you will have to import its spare parts when there is need for replacement, for how long will your business wait before the arrival of the imported part. MAN truck's parts are very common and cheaper than others.

GRADE: Be sure the vehicle you are going for is between grade A and B. Anything lesser than this will spell doom for you.

MILLEAGE: Since in Nigeria, most of the vehicle we used for haulage is "Tokunbo" , try as much as possible that the milleage reading on the metre of the vehicle you want to buy is not more that 150,000 kilometre or else what you are buying is just the body.

MODEL: Do not buy any vehicle that its model is below 1990 because you might not found its spare part in the market again.

CHASSIS: The chassis of the vehicle must not have been worked on before or else it will not last in carrying load especially with our roads that are full of gallops. As well make sure the chassis number on the engine corresponds with the one on the custom duty card.

AXLE: Infact this is the power house of any vehicle because it is on it that all the weight rest. The best you should buy is the SPRING axle and not the BALLON type because can deflate at anytime and it will require constant replacement. The one I prefer is the bogies suspension, popularly called CAMEL SPRING , see the picture below.

TYRE: No matter how grade the vehicle is make sure you change the tyres that come with it especially the front tyres. This is important to avert any bad eventuality

Class, we are done for today. Glory be to the Almighty God for here He helps us hitherto, I pray that you and I shall lick the milk and honey of this great nation Nigeria.

Before we meet again on Thursday, I want to hear your response and any question that is bothering you. Incase you want to get in touch with me, contact me through 08037207231 or 07026446990. My email is strikerealgold@gmail.com

See you at the top. Thanks a lot.

Mr Powerman,

Thanks a lot for your concern on me. Infact you can believe that people are really responding and commending my posting through my phone numbers and email, only that they do not post in the forum, which I too will like. Nevertheless, this last week Friday 19th Feb, one of the class attendants bought an IVECO trailer and placed it with my registered to be managing it for him. Isn't that great.

I just decided to help fellow nairaladers with my three years experience in haulage and I thank God that everything works according to my vision.

Thank you all for reading my posting, more to come. It is all FREE!

It is WELL!

Great in the House,

The class resumes today again to talk on:

HOW TO SET UP A SUCCESSFUL HAULAGE BUSINESS : By this we begin to enter into the important section of this training and this I know is what many of us are really waiting. Indeed, the haulage business is very lucrative but like any other business it has its own ups and downs, infact, it is not to frighten you, Haulage business is one of the most hypertensive business any one can I ever think of especially in this country Nigeria, where almost everything is upside down at all time. To set up a successful haulage business, it goes beyond having passion, interest or emotion for it. You must:

1. TRAINING: You must know the nitty-gritty of the business or else you will learn in hard way by losing your hard-earning money, health. Therefore, I will advise to go for its training first.

2. COMPANY NAME: Make sure you register your company with CAC, even it it is only a register name, so that investors can have confidence in you

We continue from here.

It is WELL!
Re: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by fullforce: 4:57pm On Mar 08, 2010
Hello,

As I just finished the posting for today, somebody just called my phone and said that my talk on training concerning the haulage business is not understandable and it is very confusing. Now this is my answer:

For you to get completely qualified to go into haulage business, before you start, get completely qualified:

1. The best way to become qualified is to go to work for someone in the same business.

2. Attend all classes available that you can on the business.

3. Read all the appropriate "how-to" books you can.

4. Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek help from the most successful people in your intended business.
