The events of the last 2 years have shown one fact- the elders in Igboland have lost their way and as a result the youths have lost their sense of direction.

How else would one explain the emergence of Radio Biafra as led by Nnamdi Kanu to incite hate and forment trouble in Nigeria?

The Biafran agitation post-civil war is not new. The Ralph Uwazurike led Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has been agitating for a long time prior to the emergence of Nnamdi Kanu's Independent People of Biafra (IPOB). There were protests, arrests and releases. Other regions too have different groups claiming they want Independence from Nigeria -the Oodua People’s Congress (APC) and the Arewa People’s Congress (APC) in the North.

However, these groups had not employed hate speech as a tool until Nnamdi Kanu came along. His offensive broadcasts created resentment and agitation across ethnic lines and when he arrogantly entered Nigeria despite his subversive activities was promptly arrested. His being charged to court and eventual release on bail dragged for months due to the government's strategy of stretching the legal process to its limits obviously for security reasons.

Many have argued that this has made Nnamdi Kanu popular. For decent people, this need to be a problem, one just needs to look at the following that some Nigerian musicians have to understand that popularity can be achieved without becoming a national security threat.

But not so for Nnamdi Kanu, he has continued to verbally instigate people he perceives to be his opponents within and outside Igboland even bragging that 'elections will not hold'.

Instead of abiding by his bail conditions, he is flouting them.

I ask: where the leaders of Igboland in all of these?

The problem with being obnoxious is that there is no monopoly of it. Now, a coalition of Arewa Youth groups have followed in Kanu's path and threatened Igbos with violence on October 1 if they do not leave the North. As crazy and terrible this is, we have to trace it back to Nnamdi Kanu, leaders and youths of the Southeast who failed to call him to order.

The solution to this dire situation is for the people of the Southeast to curb their recalcitrant son to create a cordial atmosphere. This will also help calm the recalcitrant youths in the North and elsewhere. While true leaders across different parts of the country work together to build a better country for all.

Failure to do this would create huge problems for everybody and that would be unfortunate indeed because it would take Nigeria back many years and put the Igbos in particular in a dire situation.

Awaiting for the arrival of the ipork miscreants to attack the poster as usual.

Thanks @ OP, I think the good people of IGBO land are doing their best to place Kanu where he belongs to but the problem now is the PDP. We have some PDP money bags using his hate gospel to disrupt the present administration.

I am only concerned about women and children.

Well said! With good intentions too.
The problem though is you are reasoning objectively but the other is emotionally blinded by pure rhetorics of the biafran episode.
They are still living in 1967, nothing learnt, nothing gained. When a people choose to live rhetorically, blaming other people for the general and particular woes being experienced, without ever looking inward, then that's the height of of irresponsibility . Like the present effect that has its core cause in the bitter ,hateful and inciteful banters, cliches and comments of Nnamdi against other tribes in Nigeria with the support of a loud percentage of his people. Then you should expect the full cycle of the cause in the effect recipocrally.people are just hating the igbo people back.

See idiotic attempt at altering history. shocked

Nnamdi Kanu started hate speech in Nigeria? Gosh!!

I guess Buhari started his government preaching love? Boko Haram and Fulai Herdsmen are nationalistic and patriotic movements, and that's why macilatunji NEVER wrote any epistle against them nor admit that their endless killings, illegal occupation and rhetorics are all acts of hate.

Is it not surprising that chronic hate filled bigot and potential terrorist is sermonizing others on the ills of hate? grin

Shekau Olatunji, we are not buying your empty generalization gimmicks.

Please provide SPECIFICS. Post the specific videos and audios of Kanu's hatemongering or hide your face in shame.

Op, you just ended up writing nonsense
You have no respect for Igbo people neither our elders.
The major reason for the agitation can't be taken care of by the Elders of Igboland. The lack of Federal presence in East, Militarization of East, lack of equity and fairness in allocation of Consolidated revenue, lack of equity and fairness in Federal employment both in civil service and military service, and many other things targeted at Igbos are not the creation of Igbo Elders.
The agitation against the govt must continue until govt deem it fit to correct the many years of injustice against. Nnamdi KANU and his followers are victims of federal govt inordinate activities against East and should be apologized to.

So much for your education. You are such a low lying leech.

I dont blame you. It is those igbos who take you quite seriously that I blame.

I have read and heard a lot unprintable things against igbos yet I don't fret over it. It is insecurity and inferiority complex that bothers you.

Till now you don't see the fraud in Nigeria, all you see is igbos being your nightmare. Malcolm X made the US oppressive racist policies to bend to the common sense preached by Martin Luther King. Malcom x was the militant version of Martin Luther King. If the cause of NIGERIAs woes are igbos, then quietly support for their call to leave Nigeria peacefully through referendum.

Funny, Maclatunji, this Islamic extremist, has been deaf and dumb for the past several years as his Islamic brethren in Boko Haram slaughtered thousands, devastated many parts of Nigeria, created insecurity everywhere and rolled Nigeria many decades back.

Now, like the typical hypocritical Coward that he is, Nnamdi Kanu, an Igbo man peacefully but assertively exercising his Constitutionally guaranteed rights, gives Maclatunji and his fellow hypocrites nightmares upon nightmares.
