Will you blame the people that decide not to go by sea because of sad stories they heard ? Does it mean people that went by air are not also at risk.

My point is simple, no one should castigate ladies for not responding to PMs, they have their reasons. The average lady meets enough guys physically everyday, that's enough risk, no need to add extra.

Nothing like think before ignoring DM. Some people have gotten killed by social media hookups. Some raped, some kidnapped.
When their story makes front page, few people would condemn the culprit, majority will tag the girl slay queen that went for FB runs.

One got sexually harassed by a social media activist she went on a date with and she was the one that got blamed.

With the kind of sick comments I read here from guys, I won't blame any girl that decides not to take the risk at all.

I won't reply many PMs because I will be exhausted attending to numerous messages coupled with the poor design of the messaging system and not really because I think Nairaland guys are all bad. If you don't wanna meet Nairaland guys cos you think they are all bad then you shouldn't meet anyone outside Nairaland either cos what you have on Nairaland is only a replica of what you have outside Nairaland. The "crazy" Nairaland guys are the same people you see outdoors too.

I don't even send ladies PMs on Nairaland because the messaging system is poorly designed and would be quite difficult for ladies to go through their messages easily.

This happens especially with people based abroad who want to marry from home yet have no time to come down to date or court the person one on one. They usually search for suitable partners online to date, court and make marital plans with. You know, it's not only men that are bad too? Some women too are bad so it's a two way thing. The man coming down to marry a lady he met online is also taking a huge risk with her.

Am not saying there aren't sincere ones on social media, it goes both way in as such as u will see serious minded ones there it doesn't change the fact that there are evil minded ones also. So one have to watch closely to avoid stories that touch.

was it not this same forum i read about a US based guy who worked security in a company in atlanta.he came home to his village,picked a wife then took her with him to the US.Trained her in nursing school and she graduated as a nurse and started working.some few yrs later she divorced the man and the courts allowed her to take custody of his kid and his house and he was prevented frm seeing his child.the lady later brought her boyfriend to start living with her.the man then confronted her and in a jealous rage he shot his ex wife and turned the gun on himself.its better u marry who u know and not some anonymous stranger u know nothing about.

there"s d programme on IDx channel on cable.its called web of lies and it talks about the dangers of online hookups.even in america lots of young ladies have been murdered by sick men who prey on the internet...and its happening in naija too.i am not saying internet hookup is totally bad but we should be very careful. its not a advisable to just barge into a strange girl on social and start giving her ur financial capabilities cos na wife for internet u dey look for cos u dont know her intentions.or i wont advice my sister to go meet a strange man she saw on facebook in his house.wat of if the man na Evans?
